  • Day One: he was late and said he needed to prime the walls despite never mentioning this before so I had to go out and get primer (which is fine). I suggested starting on the wallpaper removal while I went out and left him in my home. When I came back with the primer he applied it very unevenly. He left at the end of the day.

    Day Two: he came back late again and painted the lower bathroom (one coat and less than half the paint he had told me to purchase) and left paint Provider name locked. on the ceiling! When I asked him about it he says "I can remove those if you want me to." He never used a drop cloth or any tape. I had been working on the wallpaper myself using a scorer -- he had never even seen one!! He didn't seem to have any tools of the trade at all and mostly used mine. Overall, I was feeling very nervous about his qualifications.

    Day Three: he goes to paint the upper bathroom which I had removed all the wallpaper from myself. He did not sand, repair, wash, or prime the wall before painting and didn't even paint in one area. There is paint on the ceiling again and the work will clearly need to be redone. Simply paint on an unfinished wall and he left all the garbage in the room with a sink an absolute wreck. When I consulted Provider name locked. -Provider name locked. they informed me of all the work that needed to be done now.

    He happened to call me later because he had left a tool at my house and I let him know that it looked absolutely terrible. He offered to come back and repaint it which is impossible at this point because of all the work that needs to be done on the wall. He never called me back after that conversation. It makes me extremely nervous to think he is out there doing similar work in others' homes. Absolute disaster of a job and would never recommend him especially considering how much of the work I had to do myself.

  • It's hard to quantify how this job went because Provider name locked. and her crew were all very pleasant to work with, and the work they did was done very well, but I was unhappy with the execution at the end of the job. I will say at the outset that some of these issues were due to poor communication, which is as much my fault as it was Provider name locked. 's.
    When we had the initial quote done, we asked for: 1) wallpaper removal and wall prep for painting in the master bedroom; and 2) wallpaper removal and wall prep in the living room. That quote was for approximately $1200, and I sent the requested deposit in shortly after getting the quote via email. The person I was corresponding with via email was called "Provider name locked. ", and he soon stopped responding. After emailing him twice or three times, I finally called Provider name locked. . Provider name locked. advised that Provider name locked. had been let go because he was a seasonal employee. After that, Provider name locked. was very, very responsive over email and I didn't have any additional issues on that end.
    The reason I was attempting to contact Provider name locked. was because I wanted to get a quote for some additional work to be done on the job. We had just purchased the house and I realized I just didn't have the time to paint the living room or bedroom myself, and my husband wanted the foyer wall painted. So I asked Provider name locked. to do an additional quote for painting those areas. She agreed to provide it and said she'd review the areas and provide the quote on the first day of the job. I said that was fine. This is where the miscommunication occurred, I think, because Provider name locked. thought I was only asking for a quote for half of the living room walls when I was asking for the full living room, we talked about wall texture but I don't think we talked ENOUGH about it, and I think there was just a general vagueness to our discussions (which never should have happened). Nevertheless, I received an adjusted quote from Provider name locked. for approximately $2200, which I accepted.
    During the course of wallpaper removal in the bedroom, we discovered some previous damage that required a lot of work. I knew that this was a possibility and told Provider name locked. to go ahead and remedy it. Again, I knew that this would increase the cost of the job. Unfortunately, during the sanding process, some of the drywall in our master bathroom started to separate and I asked Provider name locked. to please take care of this issue as it was caused by their work. I told her I'd take care of repainting the area. To her credit, she agreed to do this and Provider name locked. did a great job at patching the cracked drywall. So we really appreciated her flexibility in that regard.
    Ultimately, the wallpaper removal and painting in the living room, and the painting in the foyer, came out great. I have no real issues with those areas. My issues are with the master bedroom. Provider name locked. was candid when she said that the job ran longer than she anticipated because of the extra work necessary in the master bedroom. Frankly, that was Provider name locked. 's issue and not mine; I'm not the one who does scheduling for her and I don't know what kind of other jobs she's got going on. The master bedroom work was completed to my satisfaction, but the bedroom was left a shambles. Drywall dust was basically in every nook and cranny (the doors, windows, and radiator covers were absolutely filthy with it), and there was spackle (or whatever it's called) all over the place (thankfully this is able to be cleaned off with a razor or a little elbow grease), including our light fixtures and the toilet. 
    I have to say that the guys on Provider name locked. 's crew - Provider name locked. in particular - were excellent. Provider name locked. worked long hours and never complained, and the work he did was excellent. So was the painting work done in the living room, which I believe was done by Provider name locked. and Provider name locked. . So that's why I say that I'm conflicted about how to grade this review. Based on the quality of the work alone, it should be an "A" review. But factoring in the non-responsiveness by Provider name locked. , the communication issues between me and Provider name locked. , the unexpectedly increased cost of the job (which Provider name locked. - again to her credit - did negotiate with me and I feel we came to a fair price), and the filthy master bedroom, I had to reduce the overall grade to a B. I would use Provider name locked. 's company for painting again in the future.
