"Given that we live over 1,100 miles away from the event area, Angie's help was invaluable. Our loved one was very specific in the details for the Celebration" of Life event so there was a lot for Angie to coordinate. All keeping within the limits of our moderate budget for the event (~$7,500), Angie coordinated the selection of a venue, caterer, invitations, helping with the invitation list (locating family member addresses/phone numbers), mailing of the invitations, handling RSVPs, coordination with the event space on food and alcohol and locating/hiring the band. We found her to be well prepared for any unexpected event which was especially helpful. Beyond handling all preparation work, Angie handled all needs during the event itself and managed all cleanup. She was very professional and we liked that she had a professional dress/name tag that made her easily identifiable for any guest to ask questions. Family members commented on how nice it was to know who was in charge for information on the event space, etc. She did all of the work on the day of the event and was the contact point with the venue and caterer so that we could focus on the family and getting back in touch with everyone and we did not have to be distracted with the event details. The event space was a perfect fit for our loved one's wishes, the food was quite good, the bar and band was spot on and we had absolutely no issues to worry about during this difficult time. Angie was very sensitive to the occasion and would recommend her for future events of this nature.

"Luxe is a great value. However, I think their business model that keeps the price down also makes it difficult for someone like me who 'overplans' and" is a little bit of a control freak. While easy to determine what to rent and how to pay, they don't always pay attention to notes on the order (like, must be delivered after noon). They are a little hard to get in touch with via phone/email so I was always not quite certain they would deliver when they needed to, or pick up when we needed them to. Everything DID work out just as planned so I think they are definitely worth using. Just make sure to over-communicate with them and confirm several times on delivery times/days for your own piece of mind.

Banquet Hall reviews in Madison

The facilities were gorgeous but the food and the service were terrible. 15 round tables were crammed into a room, the round tables were WAY too small to seat 10 people per table. Plus several of us couldn't get our knees under because of metal posts blocking our legs. The event, which included a $40 dinner, was supposed to start at 7pm but ...More at 6:30 all salads were already at each setting warm and wilted. At 6:45, as soon as my husband and I sat in a seat to talk to someone, a plate with a slab of chicken, plain noodles, and potatoes were plopped down at 4 of the 10 spaces. About 7:30pm, 7 of the 10 people at our table round finally had their chicken but nobody wanted to start because 3 were still waiting for their chicken. Finally we all ate cold chicken, which was very unpleasant. After the dinner plates were removed, coffee was plopped down in PAPER cups but only to about 3 people at our table. There were only two sugars in the holder and they were soaking wet. Three creamers were unceremoniously plopped down on the tables next to wherever there were PAPER coffee cups. I tried to get more but the server was stingy and had a "you get what you get" attitude. She wouldn't give more creamers! Every time something was plopped down, the servers quickly ran away. There were few opportunities to ask for a coffee or some more cream. I got tired of waiting for a coffee cup to arrive so I just drank my husbands. We also didn't have any spoons. The servers were loud and disrepectful of our event. They would block our view of the speakers and the screen; just standing in the way in between the tables. And they were so loud we couldn't hear the speakers: the kitchen was right off the room and whenever the staff opened the door to the kitchen, all 150 of us could hear them in the kitchen laughing and playing loud music. People were singing in the kitchen while we were trying to hear people at our own event gives speeches. Speaking of which, their sound system cut out a lot. Finally, the servers kept cranking the AC since they were hot from running around and so the rest of the guests froze their butts off.

We rented out the space for about 12 hours. They were great to work with and did an outstanding job. The space is pretty basic so you can decorate however you would like. It is easy to make the space your own. I worked with 1 woman and she did a good job. I had no problem scheduling the service.

The party was on schedule, the food was served on schedule, the music was very good for dancing, the parking lot was clean and had lights, everything was good, excellent place for any event! Very well managed! I will recommend it to my friends!

I am in the process of going to small claims court to obtain a refund of the deposit I made to . I cancelled my reservation more than 9 months before the event. agreed twice to refund my deposit within a few days and twice has failed to live up to his promise. I have sent numerous ...More emails and have called him numerous times to discuss the refund. refuses to communicate with me concerning the refund. My hope is that the suit will not cause to go into bankruptcy.

Review, Wedding Wire & The Knot, Wedding Channel
PROCEED WITH CAUTION when thinking of booking your wedding at King’s Court Castle in Canterbury Village!!!
Recently my son was married at The Wedding Chapel in Canterbury Village and the reception at King’s Court Castle. I’m compelled to give ...More this lengthy review of the event to cover the issues, so prospective customers are aware of potential issues if you’re considering booking this wedding venue. Wish I had been advised of these issues … I wouldn’t have trusted them with such an important life experience.
After working with to ensure my son’s wedding would be close to perfect, the King’s Court staff really fell short! I had asked several times “who will be there to oversee the wedding and reception that evening?”. She said the Banquet Mgr would be available at our event. They tell you what you want to hear … not what is really going to happen. was nowhere to be found because she was overseeing (3) other events that evening. An experienced banquet manager needed to be overseeing the inexperienced staff of young men. Instead, a very young manager was put in charge of her responsibilities at our 150 guest wedding reception. The servers might have been all of 17 years old and didn’t have a clue what they were supposed to be doing. Guidance was needed to do the simplest tasks and acted as though this was their first
time working a large event. So, this became my responsibility for the evening!
Cheese display had no serving utensils. Guests were using fingers to help themselves to cheese & crackers. I asked one of the young staff members if they had tongs. He replied “oh yes” … & ran to get some very large salad tongs. I had to ask him for smaller tongs. I’m certain State Health Dept. wouldn’t like to see people touching food to serve themselves. They ran out of appetizer plates, leaving guests waiting.

I purchased a special champagne for the “bride & groom toast” . When I asked for bottle to be opened, the young man said “Oh yes, I’ll have to get a manager to open it” . By the time he got it opened, the toasts were finished. The bride and
groom had no champagne in flutes for toast .. very embarrassing and unacceptable!!! The young manager finally brought the opened champagne and apologized, but you cannot redo that missed special moment!
Dinner buffet had no salad plates or bowls and dinner plates were pretty small. Guests had to put salad on same plate with beef and sauce, etc …. very unprofessional way to serve! I asked manager to find plates/ bowls and he did, but I shouldn’t have had to oversee this.
I had planned a Beautiful Sweet Table with (4) different cakes and fruit tarts. Some guests were beginning to leave and dessert table had not been set up yet. I asked staff to please bring out desserts for the Sweet Table. Instead they walked around with the fruit tarts on trays offering them to guests. I asked them to simply place a variety of all desserts on the table for guests to select from …. pretty task and given that had written instructions to ensure it was done nicely … this was unacceptable! The dessert table I put so much time and expense into was ruined by lack of effort on staff’s part. ’t even think all desserts I brought were served.

Two thirds through the evening my son asked for a mixed drink and noticed that he was served well liquor. The bartender said “Yes it’s well liquor …. that’s what Iwas told to serve”. The bride & groom paid $600 for the upgraded bar … it wasn’t being served! My son and I went into the kitchen to speak with staff. They showed us the Standard Bar order. A staff member remembered my visit to ’s office where I paid $600 cash to upgrade bar.
, the young manager, immediately brought out the appropriate liquor. Very wrong that the groom and
mother had to spend time away from reception handling something that should have been done by the Banquet Manager
6. After dinner dirty dishes were still on the tables. So, the bar ran out of clean glasses because tables were not cleared … guests were served drinks in plastic cups ... very low class!
I was assured by that (banquet manager) would be present during the event … SHE WAS NOT! Too many events being held at King’s Court that evening and that’s why we didn’t have enough plates, glasses & staff to handle event.
If drastic changes aren’t made, King’s Court Castle will be known as a venue that puts on mediocre events with poor customer service. We spent over $7,000 and expected to receive great service. Money seems to be priority at King’s Court Castle ... the priority should be making your wedding day special! When your big day comes and things aren’t as promised, it’s too late…. you can’t redo it. ’t believe everything you’re told or you might be the next unhappy person writing reviews!!!
When told about the horrible service we received, and the owner were appalled, apologized and did offer to refund a very small amount of money in comparison to what we paid for this event. I found this refund an insult considering the fact that I missed out on a big part of my son’s wedding reception to manage their staff and also missed special moment of champagne toast, so we have no memories or photos!
Hopefully, my review will help someone considering King’s Court Castle for their wedding venue, so you ’t experience our disappointment. One positive note … The Wedding Chapel was very charming and ceremony was lovely!

Everything went very smoothly, from the planning with to the actual execution of the dinner. As with I assume most weddings there were several little changes along the way. was able to help and make suggestions in order to make things easier. When it came to the day of the wedding, we were able to get ...More in to the as soon as they opened in order to set up. I wasn't there to help set up our decorations but it looked wonderful when I did arrive. There was only one small hiccup when it came to the dinner and cocktail hour. Some where along the line there was a miscommunication of the start time, 4:30 as opposed to 4:00, but this was sorted out quickly with out a problem. After that is was smooth sailing and the staff helped kept things moving. We had scheduled the room until 10pm but guest were allowed to stay and talk till close of the restaurant at around 2am. I would use the again for a large gathering and will continue to go there for there excellent food and German beer.

They had a garden for the wedding, they had a tent for the reception and they had a ballroom. We had our own caterer. They don't do the catering. The problem was that the staff was rude and disrespectful with the family members of the wedding parties (both the bride and the groom's family), acted condescendingly to the members of the family ...More at a very happy occasion and it really tarnished the experience for the immediate family. It was a beautiful location but people should be wary of the staff. The staff is obnoxious. I would want others to be wary of using them.

My daughter and I ate dinner at the restaurant. Good menu. Food was great. Service was good. Their garlic rolls are worth the trip alone! One of the great places to dine in downtown Hillsboro.
