  • My daughter needed her windshield replaced and because ABRA is open on Saturday mornings, we requested a quote. We discovered that they do not provide the quotes for this type of service but get rerouted to a national call center. We spoke with a nice gentleman who provided a quote and offered to either have a technician come to her home or we could go to the ABRA facility on the west side of Madison. We elected to take it to the shop as it is near my office. We dropped the vehicle off bright and early on Saturday morning only to receive a call 15 minutes later to be informed that the windshield arrived damaged and someone was supposed to have called us prior to the appointment (which would have been nice since my daughter worked the night shift and got home at 3 a.m. only to pull another shift 9 hours later). While at the shop we asked to reschedule the appointment and were told we would need to call the toll free number to do that. We called them and were told it would take 12 to 15 BUSINESS days to get the windshield and that a technician could NOT come to her home address due to the zip code she lived in. So, back to square one with no windshield.

  • Went well. Took a few days to get in. I took it to their location. I watched part of the replacement, took two fellows, quite a bit more involved than I expected. Work completed as promised, vehicle was cleaned after completion. Excellent workmanship. Very comfortable waiting room.

  • A stone chipped the windshield of my car and the placement and depth of the impact required full replacement.  In warmer weather, ABRA often does windshield replacements at the customer's location.  However, given the cold outdoor air temperature they requested that I have the work done inside their shop as the glue required additional time in a warmer environment to set properly.  All of this was relayed to me prior to the appointment along with the cost of service.  The job was done in the estimated time (2 hours) and at the quoted price.  I took the car in for a wash at a different business a few days later and no leaks were found along the windshield, so I would say that they did quality work.

  • This experience was different from the beginning. The website was wonderfully easy to navigate, I got a really close appointment, and since I decided to have my car serviced at their facility, I was able to get a good idea of what is going on with their waiting area.

    The service was done exactly as I had scheduled it, the lobby was quiet, and they had big windows overlooking the beltline if you just wanted to sit and zone out. They also had comfortable chairs, a light selection of magazines, free coffee and soda, Wifi, and a television. This is the exact definition of service that a lot of folks miss. Nothing too fancy, just a simple, clean experience with a few amenities to keep people occupied for 120 minutes. Well done Safelite. This submission was created on the wifi in the Safelite Lobby overlooking the Beltline commuters. Lifetime warranty of glass and workmanship at a reasonable price, here I come.

  • I called ABRA's glass center, Adam was very helpful and accommodating. He was able to get me a morning appointment for the next available day. I had asked him if ABRA had any coupons for Angie's List members; he said not at the moment but he decided to drop the price $25. When I arrived at the ABRA shop it was hard to find a parking spot but the lady behind the counter was extremely nice. The mechanic that was going to work on my car came out and said that my windshield was never picked up so he would have to go pick it up across town. I didn't have a ride home so my 2 hour wait jumped to a 3-4 hour wait. Luckily there is a nearby coffee shop and some restaurants so I hung out there and used their wifi (ABRA doesn't have wifi). SMART auto is next to them and is responsible for the sidewalks; they were very icy and dangerous but the ABRA receptionist said she would inform them. 2 hours later my car was ready; I had to wait 1 more hour for the glue to set then I was able to leave. Stuff happens; I think it's important to realize that even good businesses have some miscommunication and unforeseeable problems. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to take my car to them and I will recommend ABRA if anyone is looking for a shop to replace auto glass.

  • This is a full service auto mechanic. They do anything. I have come here since 1991 and have never, ever, been disappointed. In fact, only once have i ever had to take the vehicle back due to the same symptom coming back. ONCE! How many other mechanics can you say that about?
    Not many.
    Since i moved to the other side of town, I've been trying to find another mechanic to fill the shoes of Capital Tire and it is still
    hard to do. I've had smaller repairs done and dang it if it's far too frequent that i get something fixed, just to find out it's not fixed!
    So anytime i get the bad news that something big needs repair... i go across town. They have loaner cars now to, so that helps greatly.

  • The side window in my convertible had been broken in a storage room break-in. The car was so full of glass you could not sit it in without hurting yourself or harming the seats. Right from the start, Safelite assured me the technician who replaced the window would vacuum the car thoroughly, which was a great relief as there is no electricity where the car was being stored.  Both the time and cost estimates given to me were accurate, and the technician was on time as well as professional and friendly. He checked and re-checked his work. I couldn't be happier!
