  • 0 stars. Review the BBB complaint ID 12118307 for details and responses. Designs In Stone / Cardinal Kitchens (same company/owner) damaged my hardwood flooring, dented my new stainless refrigerator, and never finished caulking. They refused to pay for the full repair after they had me get a total of 6 contractors to look at it each with the same recommendation and all within the same ballpark total for repair. It took 6 months to finally get a (unsatisfactory) resolution. I ended up settling for half the repair costs just to be done with them and will just pay the remainder out of pocket.

  • I knew exactly what I wanted and ordered on the spot. I literally picked my slab and paid in 15 minutes. Easy! But that's where ease ended. Communication is something Marty, Tracy, Allison and team need to work on. There were many hiccups in getting in for template. Granted, my project was complicated, but I've worked with 2 competing stone installers in the last two years with no communication or scheduling issues. The install day finally came for my quartz and it was measured wrong!!! There wasn't enough in stock to finish so they'd have to order. I was angry as I was just waiting on them to list my home for sale. I asked to get a comparable granite off the lot and chose from several slabs. Had to do remeasure and reinstall. Loved the new countertop! However there were things missed in install (really liked install guys btw). Didn't silicone one counter and I could lift it! Bad. So I had to call and call to get that fixed. Then my plumber said they hadn't secured the dishwasher even though Marty and I talked a good deal about it. It took 3 or 4 calls, multiple texts to Marty to get someone out. Then they showed up unannounced to fix. Overall. Communication is a disaster from this company. I don't understand how they let this happen when I present multiple project opportunities per year. Just wanted it to work so bad but it just didn't. I worked WAY too hard to get this done and over the course of many renovations I've never had to exert this kind of energy on countertops, and you SHOULD NOT have to. Sorry guys. I so wanted this to be more positive but kept remembering all the stuff I had to go through to finish this :(

  • We had a small issue with scheduling service. They did not give us a call ahead of when they were planning to come until they were at our house, so no one was able to meet them. The issue was quickly resolved for them to come back the next day. The counter tops look great and are exactly what we wanted.

  • The install went very poorly. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. We had new hardwood floors just installed in the kitchen. They moved our fridge and scratched/dented our new floors. Prior to moving, we provided options on ways to reduce the chance of scratching the floor- we could take the cabinet off above the fridge and we provided a spare piece of carpet to slide the fridge on. Installer said "it will all be fine." They asked us to write a note on our order that they are not liable for floors and appliances. We felt pressured as they were at our house, we had already disconnected the plumbing and did some demo, and refused to start until it was noted. This clearly is NOT a regular request as it was not an official document we needed to sign. Along with pressuring us in the moment, they said, it will be "fine." Installer did point out the scratch and told us it is easily repaired with some sand paper and stain. We understood things happen, and tried that repair. Because it was so deep, it did not work. Therefore, we asked the hardwood installer to come back to repair. He said it would be $500-$600 to repair due to the extent and length of the damage. We contacted Savvy regarding this. As they say they are not liable, they will not do anything. We asked about other customers and their floors, and they said they ask ALL CUSTOMERS to move their own appliances. Makes no sense. They are kitchen remodelers. This is their JOB. AND they also INSTALL FLOORING. We know that the family members who recommended them did not have to sign any documents, nor move their appliances. So this is something they made us do. You can't tell me that they honestly expect all homeowners to move their own appliances! They should've taken some precautions when moving the fridge, especially in-light of them being new floors, but they did not. And they will not stand by their customers. They did not offer to pay for the damages, or even help. Obviously they do not have any integrity or value their customers and referrals. In the scheme of things, that shouldn't be a big expense to them in their bottom line for the job, or the increased business they could get for referrals. To us, who just spent $3,000 on new granite, and also additional on flooring, that is a big expense and inconvenience. Please do NOT use Savvy Home Supply and make sure family and friends know this negative experience. I do not want anyone else to be left with their floors or appliances damaged and the extra cost and inconvenience of repair. I am sure there are other granite companies in Louisville who stand by their customers and deliver a great product and installation.

  • Craig and his team of employees and subcontractors did an outstanding job! The home was built in 1937 with plaster which made the tearing out of the existing plaster a difficult task, but it was done in a timely and professional manner. Also, the new replacement tile was marble, not ceramic tile, which not typical for this type of job, and it was installed to perfection. I highly recommend Craig and Creative Tile if you are considering a bathroom renovation. By the way, Craig's estimate was not the lowest but we selected his firm based upon his Angie's List reviews and are extremely happy with our decision.

  • Roy was THE ONLY vendor on Angie's list to give me a quote by email last Spring when I was shopping.  Everyone else needed to 'send someone out' or have me come in.  Very convenient.  I was looking for marble and my brother had a white granite.  One of the other A listers on AL said that didn't exist at all which I knew was not true.  Roy and his team showed me dozens of options for white granite.  In the end we chose a manufactured marble stone.  More expensive but no issue with staining and it is the exact look of marble.  Amazingly beautiful!!
When it came time to make the purchase this Fall, Roy stood by his quote.  We came to his showroom, picked out the stone, sinks, faucets, tile and we were off.  His installers were very professional.  They got in, got out on time with no mess.  I can't say enough good things about Roy and the team.  I plan on working with them again on our bathroom projects.  Make sure you include him

  • They made precise measurements that fit perfectly. They went over and beyond their duty when it was discovered that when the framer built the wall for the bar top at the framing stage months prior and they didn't level it. Guess they assumed concrete floors were perfectly level. They stayed and even came back to work with contractor to level the wall which BTW was lined with stone that goes on the outside of houses with brick. So leveling wasn't just sanding a lil wood off a corner. The installer could've installed and left cuz it wasn't his fault it wasn't level but he saw the job through to ensure it was supported adequately with the needed amount of support and installed correctly. The only hiccup was I was told one day that they had to cut the sink in so it couldn't be installed that day but would the next. Upon calling the next afternoon to tell them that I was off work and they could come to install at anytime, I was told they couldn't because they hadn't cut the sink in. It frustrated me at the time because it is really hard for me to get off work at a descent time working at a level 1 trauma hospital, but once it was completed, I had forgotten all about that. Only other negative is that you could never get them to answer the phone, return messages, etc., but they were changing things around then so I'm sure that has been resolved, just had to go by to talk to them a couple times when It could've just been a phone call. In the big picture, very minor considering such a great job well done! Their great work ethic made up for a small slip up. Plus I'm sure they were swamped with orders as well. I shopped around and they price granite differently. Not by grade so I got a high grade granite cheap since they had plenty of it. Will definitely buy from them again! Very happy customer! Everyone comments on my kitchen/granite!

  • It was great!  We hired Creative Tile last summer to do our backsplash and bathroom floor.  Chris was responsive via email and gave good counsel for picking tile/grout when I asked for help.  He gave a fair estimate and his employee, Lewis, did fast, careful work that looked beautiful when complete.  Both men were completely professional to work with.  In the end, the cost came in below the estimate with an Angie's List coupon and in our decision to tile over the backsplash rather than knocking out the old one and re-tiling, which would have taken longer and made more mess.  I was consulted with every decision, and they put the hardware and shoe mold back on when finished with the tile without even being asked.  When, about 6 months later, I noticed the grout had cracked along the granite counter (we have a 110 year old home that no doubt settled under the heavy granite counter top; not a result of the workmanship), Chris agreed right away to come out and caulk the tile along the counter so that it wouldn't crack again.  I would definitely recommend Creative Tile!

  • They are wonderful! You meet with them and pick out your granite. They come in and measure and they are extremely accurate! They have an ultraviolet ray they use to measure. They did a great job! If something isn't correct when they are working on it, they will make sure it is right before they leave. I love the guy that we met, Chuck O'Koon. He actually took us on a tour and showed us how they wash the granite, which was great because now we understand the whole process! The lady we worked with, Heather Warwick, was very sweet and she walked us through the yard to show us all the granite. She had great communication skills. She would always call to give us feedback and let us know when they are coming. She was good to work with and she was very professional. She was very easy to get in touch with!
