Concrete Driveway Installation reviews in Louisville

Big B Restoration cleaned and sealed my aggregate walkways, cleaned, sanded and sealed my paver driveway and cleaned my gutters. They also cleaned around my windows. They used a top quality sealer and included an insecticide in the water for the gutters and windows which especially helped with the spiders on my windows. Their pricing for these services was reasonable. Barry Miller is a very personable man, a good listener concerning the client's needs and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure the customer is satisfied with the results (and this is coming from a very picky customer). His helpers were very pleasant, easy to work with, and willing to honor any reasonable request. I will be using this company's services again. Penny Cooper Louisville, KY

Having enjoyed my new concrete for a couple of months I can't imagine how it could have turned out better. Chad, Jesse, Rico, Santo and everyone involved did an outstanding job. They were exceptionally considerate and a pleasure to deal with. Thank goodness they knew a lot more about what I needed than I did. I quickly developed a high level of trust in their work and I was not disappointed.

Chad, Jesse and their team did an amazing job. I was very nervous because of the magnitude and price of this project, but it turned out fantastic! I got estimatesfrom several companies, but Chad has the idea to put in a retaining wall because of the slope of our front yard, and it looks and functions beautifully. No one else had that idea. These are designers. I am getting compliments from all my neighbors on how nice our Driveway looks. Plus, with our up and coming teenage drivers, we don’t have to park in the street anymore. Highly recommend this company!

I recently inquired to Brian Harris about potentially redoing and expanding our driveway as well as creating a patio area in the back yard with stamp and color. I got 4 quotes before deciding to proceed with Brian. I chose Brian b/c he had a very good record from previous reviews on Home Advisor. He definitely lived up to what everyone had said about him and he did amazing work! I am very happy with the work he did and I will use him again in the future. I would highly recommend Brian. I've attached before and after pictures of my driveway and backyard.

I entered into a contract for $800 on 5/3/17, paying half down ($400). After a several week wait, he promised my driveway was next. No show. Then he promised to show up the next week. No show. After many weeks and no updates, I finally pressed him on the issue and he offered to give my money back. At least I got my $400 back in August, but this is not the way to run a company.

Their price was the lowest by $1000 of the three bids I received and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the work. Their attention to detail is what surprised me. After the job was complete, there was a dried up white residue and gunk on the side of the street in front of two of my neighbors houses from where the concrete truck driver had washed the chute on the truck after delivering the concrete. Paradigm, without being asked and as part of their job clean-up, pressure washed in front of both houses to remove the residue. Would hire again and recommend to family and friends.

We contacted Weddle Concrete after seeing an ad in "The Record" ... this business did not show up in the Angie's list search and this should get fixed!!! Excellent experience working with Jason Weddle. He was prompt in answering our request for quote...unlike several other contractors we attempted to engage. He explained the reasons for the failure of our 6 year old (new construction) patio and planned out a new patio with several reinforcement strategies to ensure a long-lasting solution on our fall-away lot. When we contracted the work, he told us it may be 10 weeks before our turn would come up on the schedule. We were happy when he came back in in 4 weeks! He was on-site, working with his associates every day while the work continued. We are very please with the finished appearance of the patio and the garage repair. I was not home when they finished the last of the clean-up, so he stopped by to collect his payment ... after answering my questions and assuring that I was satisfied with the work. From first contact to payment, Jason Weddle showed his priorities: providing quality concrete work with a professional customer service attitude.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Bottom line up front... The owner (Sam Ellis) got irritated when I tried contacting him to check on the status on the weekend, after he had previously promised that someone would be in touch with me the next day... He said the following in text messages... "No calls on the weekends"... "I'm trying to watch football" "I don't want your business, I can tell you're trouble"..... I advised him that I give good reviews for good customer service, but this company has the worst customer service that I've experienced in a long time. Avoid at all cost!

Originally purchased Angie's List Deal for Paradigm Concrete Design 3/22/2015, after receiving several other quotes. Chad, the owner, came out 3/21/15, to inspect the job and patiently listened to my concerns and many questions. My driveway project was complicated in that a downward slope needed to be created from the back of the driveway to the street as well as a slope created away from my foundation. He originally scheduled my project to begin in June 2015. When I did not hear from Paradigm in June, I contacted Chad and told him I could wait if he had more demanding jobs. After no communication from Paradigm, I contacted Chad again 11/23/15. At this point, he said he could do the job in December 2015. I was afraid this was too late in the year to pour new concrete. Knowing it takes at least 28 days for the concrete to reach its full strength, I was uncomfortable (right or wrong) that the new concrete might break apart in freeze/thaw cycles before fully hardening, so he scheduled me as one of his first jobs in 2016--which turned out to be 3/21/16. The job took 4 days to complete. On the whole, I am very pleased with the the work. The lead foreman, Jesse, was on site every day, and he and the workers came up with an ingenious plan to keep the water flowing away from the house by replacing two sidewalk squares without disrupting the even flow of the public sidewalk. I was present at the beginning of every day of the job, except when they installed the corrugated drain pipe. I would have preferred PVC drainage piping as the corrugated pipe has already cracked apart at the downspout, and, as it travels through a dirt planting area, discovered it was not sloped downward to keep the water flowing away from the house. I am still debating about whether to snake a smaller diameter PVC drainage pipe through the corrugated pipe underneath the concrete, as I continue to make slow progress in trenching the original corrugated pipe. I did mention to Jesse that I thought not enough rock was used for the subgrade and that it was not compacted enough to keep the expansive, yet dense, clay soil underneath to cause the driveway to settle and crack. If I could go back in time, I would have insisted upon a vapor barrier underneath the driveway--this is considered 'standard practice', but rarely done industry-wide. Also, I would have been more adamant about removing more soil so that a proper depth of rock subgrade was achieved and compacted properly. Every time I weed whack where the neighbor's yard tries to grow over the new driveway, I get pelted with loose rocks. Loose rocks are also prevalent in the planting area where I am trenching the drainage pipe. I used a silicate based caulk where the driveway meets the foundation to prevent any water reaching the basement, and also to fill a crack that developed where the corrugated drain pipe is attached to the downspout and continues to the nearest expansion joint. Even with these small complaints, I am very pleased with the results and have received numerous compliments on the driveway from neighbors. Chad also proved himself to be an ethical person by honoring his original quote (minus the drainage pipe) in 2015 for work his company performed in 2016. I would definitely hire Paradigm Concrete for future projects. Attached photos were taken during a similar rain--before new driveway and after. Dramatic to say the least. I gave a 'B' for Professionalism only because I was always the one contacting Paradigm when they failed to show as scheduled. But once I contacted them, usually through email, I received a response from Chad within 24 hours. Once the 2016 date was firmly set, the crew was punctual every day, and respectful of my property.

We called him 6 months ahead and told him we wanted the work done in fall. He came out, measured, and gave us an estimate that was in our price range. We were put back 2 weeks because of work they were doing, but he called and explained delay. They came out on time, explained everything they were doing, and went to work. This is a family owned business that knows their stuff.

Our driveway is beautiful! Mr Renfro is great with detail and is a perfectionist. We decide to put aggregate on the sides and we got several compliments on the driveway and how unique it looks! The driveway itself is concrete. They also fixed my problem with water laying in a dip in the driveway. Mr. Renfro also told us how to seal the driveway and the aggregate.

I highly recommend this company. We have no complaints at all and I will refer him to friends.
