    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
I found Horizon Construction on the Houzz app after several attempts to connect with a few other contractors. I sent an email on a Sunday and got a response the following Monday. The great communication with Horizon continued through my entire project of a complete remodel of my kitchen, guest bathroom and walk in closet. They also installed all new windows and tile flooring. My project manager was David and he was the best, made himself available to me for all of my many questions and decisions even while he was on vacation! Working with Enna and the others at the office were perfect as well. I couldnt be more pleased with the outcome of my remodel. Best Regards, Debbie Karmelich

    BG Construction & Remodeling Inc
BG Construction is a family business and I trust them to do the job correctly and with integrity because of my past experience with them. It felt like they were very caring to make sure that they had a satisfied customer. I interviewed seven different contractors (may be that was an over kill) when I did the addition to my home because I have never had any significant work done to my home before. Then I selected three and checked their references before I picked BG to do my work. I am a civil engineer and I tried to be as thorough as possible at this stage in picking the best person for the job. BG's was not the lowest bid, but they were reasonably close to several of the bids. They took care of all the city permits and building to the code. There had been couple of occasions when I had to add new items during the job that was not originally planned or in the estimate, Joseph made sure it was taken care of with reasonable cost to me. His workers respect the property and they did an excellent job when they were working at my home. They were very close to being on time finishing each of the jobs from the promised date and there were no delays during work (no wasted time). I was extremely happy with the quality of work BG did, and I would not look for a different contractor for any of my future work.

Jeff surveyed the existing skylight and went through the selection of a solar powered unit as a replacement.  He provided details on the advantages of using a solar powered unit for our installation and the additional functions it would provide.  He showed up on time on the date scheduled. He replaced and removed the old unit, installed the new unit in a clean and professional manner.  He then showed me the completed work, ran it several times through its cycle and went through the operation and controls for the unit.

    Above It All Roofing, Inc
Jay was our main contact from Above it All and he did a fantastic job from start to finish. The day his estimate was scheduled there was a light rain that began to fall just as he was to inspect our skylights. He got up on the roof and did the appropriate check in spite of the weather and gave us a very reasonable estimate compared to other competitors. He remained in contact with us via email and phone in a timely fashion and gave us an appropriate time table on when the job could be completed. On the day of the install his team worked quickly and efficiently and Jay came by later in the day to give his own inspection. Very professional and friendly throughout the process. Would go with Above it All Roofing again the future and would recommend to anyone.

    Chandler's Roofing
I was very hesitant at first to spend such a large amount on my roof but decided to go with Chandlers because they offer a superior product of IB ply roofing which is impervious to water and they are very experienced with mid century modern roofs. They did an amazing job and the crew was very experienced. I also had 3 skylights added which are beautiful. Getting a new roof is very stressful but worth it in the end. I would recommend Chandlers if you never want to do your roof again and want a Ferrari of a roof for your home. The IB roof is already keeping my home cooler inside and it looks very sharp. The team pays attention to detail and is very open to answering questions.

    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc

He started on Oct. 6th & finished on Nov 25th. When he quoted the price of $62,500 it did not include the draftsman, or the city permits, or the moving of the electrical panel because SCE said the window was too close to the existing panel. So we had to pay $3,900 to move the panel on the side of the house. The whole time from beginning to end was nothing but dust & dirt from the tear down of the old kitchen, Floor, walls & ceiling etc. made a mess in our living room & in  Oh yes, We needed an area for our appliances to go and an area to use the microwave. The Den.  The 7 weeks seem to go by slow,  Each segment waiting for the city inspector to check there work before proceeding. I did take pics of it to show that the work was done in case any problems in the future occur. Once the inspector passed it the Hole was finally filled and the concrete floor was poured & foundation for the new walls also. The original size of the kitchen was 7' X 10' with a converted washroom of 5'X5'. So they knocked out the wall separating the 2 and installed a header beam. Framed the new walls & removed 4 kitchen windows. Thank God the finished the new roof over the kitchen before the first rain we had, No leaks. They installed new wiring for the whole kitchen, Lights, outlets and hook ups for our newly purchased front loading washer & Dryer which are now in the kitchen. My wife is retired so I was always at work and when I got home she gave me good news each day. Once the drywall was done & painted the kitchen finally took shape.

    Kitchen now does look great

They do have a 1 year service Warranty on the whole kitchen remodel in case there are any problems.

    Montano Building Projects
The first thing I tell people is that we had the same contractor from start to finish. Apparently this is a feat in itself.  This was initially a 14 week project but additional work requests, vendor delays, special orders, extended the project for another 2-1/2 months ... not a problem for us and the end product was well worth the delays.
Our contractor, Joel Montano, began work on March 17th.  We were expecting this to just be a "getting the lay of the land" visit; but within 30 minutes of introductions the work began.  Over the course of the project we primarily had three, two man teams that specialized in demolition, framing, electrical, plumbing and/or finishing work.  Sub contractors came in for stucco and the hardwoods.  The sub-contractors were just as professional and courteous as the Montano employees.  The guys worked six days a week and showed up on time.  They were responsive to our questions and concerns. They offered suggestions (we took many) and explained what was being done, why something had to be done a certain way, or why it couldn't be done.  They went with us to pick up purchases, e.g., our new front door, tile, stone, etc.  Equally important, they never made us feel that we were being nuisances when we asked to have a wall or walls repainted another color (we did this at least 2-3 times), or when we changed the material we wanted used at the last minute -- yep, we did that to.
Joel Montano is a hands-on contractor.  He came often and otherwise stayed in touch with us via texts and e-mails.  It was clear that he checked in with his teams every evening to be briefed on progress, and the teams checked with him as issues/questions arose during the work.  He clearly knew what was going on on the work even when he was not present.
His workers are top-notch and we can't say enough good things about their work, attitude, friendliness, and professionalism. Joel and his workers made a long project as good an experience as we dared hoped.
We used Angie's List to find our contractor, and the experience we had with Joel mirrored what the many positive reviews on Angie said about him and his workers.

While cleaning with an extension duster, I put a hole in the brittle skylight.    I received an immediate estimate and appointment for a visual inspection.
The young man who came out was very nice and professional...His name is Max.
A few days later we had totally unexpected rain in my area.  I called them and DeeDee was ready to send someone right away to tape over the hole. Thank you for your attention and communication!
The glass was ordered and i was told it would be up to 10 days to receive it, and they would try to rush, but of course ( i understood) that there were jobs ahead of mine.
However...given that the plastic was so brittle and could potentially break at any time with the crows that land on it daily, the job was COMPLETED in 10 days !!!!
The two young men who installed it were amazing in their professionalism...friendliness...and care they showed in how they left the site completely cleaned up.
I would definitely recommend them !

    JC Construction & Skylights
Jeff came out and gave us an estimate for a couple of skylights. He was thorough and gave us estimates for skylights or the solar tubes. He gave us great advice. We decided to go with the tubes. After installing one we came to the conclusion we only needed one instead of two. He agreed and said for us to give it a few days and if we wanted a 2nd one installed he would do that for us. He did not try to pressure sell us which was nice. He could have told us we needed two just for the extra sale but he didn't. My wife and I really liked him personally and he did a great job. We wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

    Above It All Roofing, Inc
Above it all Roofing did a great job- they were very prompt in replying to my request for a quote, and while it took a long time to get the skylights made, they arrived at my house right when they said they would and completed all the work in under and hour and a half. They were neat, polite and made the whole process rather easy on me.

Not long afterward our ceiling sprung a leak from the spring rains. As soon as I let Jay know that we were having issues, they had somebody up on the roof in only a day or so and they fixed the leak free of charge. Very responsive and punctual business, would definitely use again.
