    EVANSTON FUNERAL & CREMATION
They're very professional and we end up for one-third of the cost of Wenban Funeral Home for the same quality of service.

    Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services
I placed my confidence in Kraft and Sussman to handle my husbands arrangements. They were committed to me from the moment we met until this day...calling to see how I was doing and sending information regarding bereavement support groups. All arrangements were made in a meaningful and professional manner. Along with Laura and Wendy I was moved my the caring supportive nature of Jessica. They met with me, phoned, guided and advised me through all major decisions. I believe Kraft and Sussman Funeral Services are committed to quality, meaningful and professional service worthy of your trusty.

    EVANSTON FUNERAL & CREMATION
He is the best guy on earth. We had the funeral at the church. The guy was half the cost of everybody else. Super personable and responsible. Funeral homes are such unbelievable rip off artist. They got a greedy family. They do anything they can to increase their cost for everything under the sun. This guy was just fantastic. It was an open casket funeral. The owner and his contract staff are extremely professional. They regularly work for the government and government employee and law enforcement families. His on site location is in a flower shop as well; but in spite of the appearance, all his services are incredibly professional and less than half the cost of the other vendors. He serves all the north shore. I did my research to find this guy. He was there at the hospital when my father passed away at 9'o clock. After the place was closed, he was there within 45 minutes in a professional ambulance bus.

    Sunrise Cremation Society
This is not a subject that is easily approached and I was unable to find any reviews in this area. I selected them based on their reputation with a hospice worker. The night we needed their services, they were called to the home, came in and descretely removed the body. The following day, a visit to the office was made where we filled out paperwork for the death certificate and made payment. There was no viewing, so this was the perfect method for us. There was absolutely no high pressure sales and everything was explained. Mr. Roth was both professional and comforting. We were able to pick up the ashes 2 weeks later. Again, Mr. Roth explained transportation and burial procedures and provided the proper paperwork. This is a much needed service at a highly emotional time. So many people get taken advantage of and this company was absolutely wonderful and so incredible to work with.

    Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial
I too would give no stars if I could. My Brother died on July 13, 2019. He was immediately taken to Desert Memorial in Las Vegas, NV. A family member, without my prior agreement, had tried to have his body donated to science, but when I was sent this paperwork, I refused to have him donated. A couple of weeks go by and I decided to call and see how soon we could the death certificates, as no one notified me as to the situation going on. That nothing was being done with his body, though they did had my information as next of kin, made me so upset. I didn't understand why they hadn't call, leaving my brother's body in the freezer two weeks. I was told when I called that I had refused the cremation. I told them no one ever spoke to me personally and I never received paperwork. I wanted the cremation done. I was aware that the county and state will pitch in to help with the payment, so I asked for the paperwork to apply. The paperwork was sent with no explanation as to how to fill it out, how long it would take, if and what forms the health dept would need from me. And the director kept typing in all caps when I was simply trying to make sure my paperwork was received. Most people consider that yelling in text. I called one time and got a young man who kept saying he didn't know the information to answer my questions and to speak to the funeral director. After a week of continuous calling to see if there was any answer from the health dept, I get an email stating I hadn't signed one spot on one of the forms. Why did someone not let me know immediately after they got the paperwork? Instead I had been told the paperwork had been sent in. Apparently not. Finally on one of my calls to them, an employee finally explained the social services request to the county process and had also advised me it was likely going to take weeks to get an answer from Social Services. I couldn't believe it! My brother had been in their freezer for almost a month by that time. Due to the help of several family and friends and through my attorney, we got the cremation paid for on August 16, 2019. I continued to check on the status. Now they said they were waiting for a permit from the county health department for the cremation. I didn't understand why they hadn't already asked for a permit at the time my brother was brought in. Again I keep checking back. They next tell me that the request for cremation was rejected due to an error in the doctor's reason for the cause of death. What? I didn't understand how that could happen. So more time went by that my friends, family and I had to wait for my Brother's cremation. Finally on September 10, 2019, Desert Memorial, upon my actually coming to Las Vegas, NV and driving to the building, tell me that they just got approval, just got the permit that very morning and in a few days, due to the lineup, my brother would be cremated and the death certificates would be available in a few days. I was surprised at the lack of personal security. They never asked for my I.D. or proof of kinship. They let me change things in my late brother's file with no proof I was really who I said I was. Thankfully I'm the right person, but what if I wasn't? By September 16, 2019, the cremation still hadn't been done and the death certificates were still not ready. My attorney needed one by the 20th. We're all so mad at this company and getting madder. Finally on September 24, 2019 we're able to pick up his ashes. When we get the plaque, his birthdate is wrong . Somehow they transposed 1974 into 1947. We are furiously waiting for them to correct it, which they agreed to do. It took two and a half months for things to be done. We are all so so hurt and angry having to deal with lack of care, compassion and respect. I highly recommend that if you need a place to take care of your dearly departed one, DON'T PICK DESERT MEMORIAL . They may be one of the lowest prices, but they don't treat people nice, they are slow, they are unfriendly, bad with communication, bad customer service, bad and slow with paperwork and just overall awful to work with.

    Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial
They were not on time, they were very curt, under the circumstances of a death and funeral, they were not particularly empathetic.  The conversation between the manager and I was not good.  I was told on my first appt to come in at 4, she didn't acknowledge me until five minutes to 5.  They left me sitting, and then threw the paperwork at me, blaming me for not having an appointment.
