Foot Surgery reviews in Kansas City

The xray showed mild arthritis in the toe joint and a small heel spur on the right foot, which the doctor said was not too significant at this point. Another person (a nurse, I guess) came in after the doctor to show me custom orthodics. She said that if my insurance would pay for them, they would be billed at about $500 but if I had to pay out-of-pocket, they would bill me about $300. She also showed me some over the counter orthodics for about $60, if I remember correctly. Because of considerable previous experimentation, I already had a pair of over-the-counter shoe inserts from Walmart that were helping comfortable, so I declined to buy the orthics. They also gave me a sheet with exercises to try.
Later, on my own, I searched the Internet and discovered that many people get help with plantar fasciitis by sleeping with a brace on the ankle that holds the foot at a right angle. I found one of these at a local drugstore for about $30, and it seems to be helping. I do wonder why such an ankle brace was not discussed by the doctor.

Dr. Provider name locked. is a very pleasant individual, and the brace he designed for me has helped immensely. On a cosmetic note, because the brace is white plastic and unattractive, I had to change my wardrobe from dresses and skirts to slacks. This was an unexpected expense and challenge. This is not a complaint, however, just a report.- WENDY B.
