    Massage Envy of Leawood
This location is the worst Massage Envy - do not go here. I've been a member of Massage Envy for about a decade. I started going to this location because it is near my work. Despite the fact that I continuously have weird issues (cancels, unable to get certain advertised upgrades, they forget to give water, etc..) the convenience to work kept me going. Tonight I went to this location in the same physical state I have been for 20 years. I have chronic back pain from 2 car accidents, anxiety, and I have only 1 kidney. When I saw the therapist today - her name is Lindsey - I instantly recalled that the last time I saw her I wasn't able to have aromatherapy and that she argued with me about what type of massage I wanted. (The last time: I asked for a focused deep tissue, which is what I always get, and she 'wanted' me to get a moderate full body because she thinks that is better. Ugh.) This time I again asked for a focused deep tissue on my knots and again, true to form, she argued with me for about 5 minutes why I shouldn't get a deep tissue. Apparently she believes that other people do better only getting deep tissue 'sometimes'. I reminded her that I know my own body and my needs and I stuck to my guns so she rescinded. I did mention, however, to go easy on my lower back because I was recovering from a Kidney infection and it's tender there. She then told me that people with kidney issues cannot have massages. ---Despite the fact that I've been getting massages for over 20 years and it's part of my health regimen---.She then told me to undress and she'd be back. I finally got comfy and ready on the bed and she came in and told me that she can't give me a massage. Her manager - JACKIE - who apparently 'owns' this location, stood by her anti-kidney stance and said that they have the right to choose to not provide services based on 'contraindications'. I understand that therapists have to be careful as they do have certain liabilities. However, they are not medical professionals and to lump one person in with an entire group of illness levels without any medical information and then refusing to provide services that I have prepaid for is bad business. I have reported this medical issue since the beginning of my membership. Massage has never affected me in a negative way... otherwise I wouldn't have maintained my membership for a decade. I asked Jackie for documentation of listed contraindications they refuse service for.... which she couldn't provide to me. She then said she will put notes in my account of my medical diagnosis. I had not given her a 'diagnosis' nor revealed details of my condition. Therefore, I told her she is not my PCP and I do not give her permission to discuss my health in the system when she has no understanding or knowledge of it. She told me that HIPPA gives her the right to make SOAP updates and she started to do it in front of me. She insisted to note my account so that other locations also would not provide me services. All this because I had a routine kidney flare up that I've managed my entire life! They didn't offer anything to compensate for my wasted time, they didn't offer any apologies. When I said it was a bad way of treating customers and I wouldn't be back she said "I'm sorry you feel that way" with about as much care as a piece of lint - which is not an apology. I called the Plaza location and told them about my experience and they were furious and plan to call Jackie's 'co-owner' because that's not how the brand of Massage Envy is supposed to treat people. They also said they will happily provide me with services. Amazing how Leawood and Jackie treated me like a leper yet the Plaza is happy to help me. Don't go here!

The Spring in Winter Massage LLC
Working with Elise is fantastic. I tell her where I feel like work needs to be done, she actually listens to me and she listens to what my body tells her. Unlike other massage therapists I've tried, she doesn't have a "routine" she follows. Every appointment is a different experience all because of the attention she pays to everything.

    Alpha Chiropractic Center
My problem is more muscles than bones, so the massages are what have been the best part. Dr Cobb has 7 or 8 masseuses and I found the perfect one for me after awhile. It took me a lifetime to reach the stage of needing a chiropractor, but after two months I feel much better and will continue to go until I feel the best I think I can. If you need a chiropractor  go see Dr Cobb.

    Alpha Chiropractic Center
At Alpha Chiropractic I'm always welcomed as a friend as well as a patient.  Dr. Cobb is genuinely concerned about how I'm feeling and about any pain I'm experiencing.  When I'm on the table she thoroughly assesses my alignment and performs adjustments that have dramatically improved my quality of life.
She has a great team of massage therapists.  They work closely with Dr. Cobb and together they figure out how to optimize the care I receive.
The location is easy to get to and there is good parking available.  Lorene at the front desk is very nice and extremely efficient.

    Your Wellness Connection PA
Very warmly greeted by Dr. Robin. She listened attentively to what my issues were. I told her that I did not want to be x-rayed. She respected my wishes and proceeded to treat me with some maneuvers. After spending time listening to me, the maneuvers she did took very little time. She ended my session by having me lie down on a massaging table that automatically sent a rolling sensation up and down my back for about 20 minutes. When the machine stopped, one of Dr. Robin's assistants came in to dismiss me. I asked if I could stay on the table and get the massage a little longer. He said no.
I went back a couple more times, but didn't really feel like I was getting anything from the sessions. Still, if I had something more serious I wanted Dr. Robin to address, I would consider going back to her.
Dr. Robin has a very unique practice in that she is open to lots of different approaches to wellness. She has a nutritionist on staff as well as an alternative doctor who can analyze someone's blood and design protocols of how to eat based on his analysis. I believe she also has a physical trainer on her staff, and possibly others. As Dr. Robin comes across new people that she believes can contribute to wellness, she invites them into her clinic in different ways. She puts on seminars from time to time, recommends films, books, etc. and stays in touch with her clients through email. Last summer she invited her clients to come in one day to purchase organic vegetables from a local gardener. Dr. Robin is very personable. I even got a phone call from her on my birthday this year, wishing me a happy birthday!

    Alpha Chiropractic Center
I had been experiencing shoulder pain for about 3 months when I purchased a Big Deal through Alpha Chiropractic for a consultation and 1-hour massage.  Based on Dr. Cobb's diagnosis at the first session, I subsequently returned for two more sessions over the three weeks that followed.  I had massages with three different therapists.  Though I liked Dr. Cobb's manner and approach, I did not see any improvement in my condition over the period of treatment and the massages themselves actually resulted in additional discomfort for a day or two afterward. As my insurance does not cover chiropractic care, given the lack of improvement I decided to forego additional treatment from Alpha and pursue other options.
As I indicated, I appreciated the time Dr. Cobb spent with me at each session, both before and after the massages.  She obviously cares about her patients and there is good communication between her and the massage therapists that helps ensure focus on the patient's issue.  Unfortunately, my three sessions didn't yield any improvement but it is hard to say what may have happened if it had been more cost effective for me to continue with her.

Brett was punctual, pleasant and professional. He is good at assessing the situation and remedying the problem. Will definitely go back to him again. In fact I already set up another appointment with him.

    Alpha Chiropractic Center
I would highly recommend Alpha Chiropractic Center. The staff was extremely knowledgeable. I had the adjustment with an hour massage. The massage therapist (Robin) did a great job explaining why I had certain tightness and tenderness and gave me advice on how to  alleviate some of that at home. I was so happy with my experience that I immediately scheduled an appointment for my boyfriend as he has been having neck issues. I'm confident he will have as great of an experience that I did.

    Massage Envy - Prairie Village
I love going to Massage Envy! They make everything really easy! They have you on a monthly plan so they withdraw the payment for your monthly massage from your bank account. I like having the commitment to get a massage by being on a regular monthly plan. Jacinda does an amazing deep tissue massage!!! She gets all the stiffness and knots out on my neck and shoulders. I highly recommend it!

Brett is an amazing therapist. He listens very carefully to everything I tell him before he gets started, and works specifically on the main issues first. The massage is very therapeutic, and really targets problem areas. I have seen him three times, and so far have had great relief from some issues that have been going on for a long time. He also gives me great tips on how to maintain the results, offering details of stretching exercises and inexpensive tools that I can use to get pain relief between our sessions. This has been very helpful. I've been to several massage therapists, but none have seemed as truly interested in helping me as Brett does.
