Foundation Repair reviews in Kansas City

  • Did great work. Can't really say for sure if it will work as it is winter and not much rain. But they were very professional, polite, explained what they would do and how long it would take. Nice people to work with and very clean.

  • I had first contacted Spartan in 2015. Andrew had advised me to keep an eye on the settling. This year I had noticed a significant difference. In 2015, I had contacted 2 other companies regarding this, so I had idea of amount of work and price was needed. I made appointments with 3 different companies again this year. Spartan came out first. Phil answered all my questions. The quality of Ram Jack piers and guarantee sold me on using this company. Work began 11-13 and ended 11-16. 8 piers were placed on exterior wall and 2 inside due to deck. Alan and Marvin stayed all 4 days, with Billy (?) helping on 2. I cannot say enough on how impressed I was with all the men in their professionalism, manners, and work ethic. They worked very hard. Alan informed me every day on what would happen that day, as well as what to expect the next day. As a woman, I look for that type of communication. It starts as the top, as anyone who has met Andrew would know. Phil and Tiffany's professionalism is appreciated also. It is a very well run company. As far as cleanup, a big kudo to Alan and Marvin. I expected a mess and pleasantly surprised on the results. Thanks to all.

  • Initially owner Matt Price had very good communication with us and showed up on time to begin the work. Matt estimated the work would take approximately three days. He had 2-4 workers hand digging the holes for the pier installation each day. Due to the consistency of the soil around our house (black clay) this process took more like a week and a half just to dig the holes and install the piers. However, given the conditions of the soil this was understandable. The crew then started removing the concrete to install new concrete. This also took longer than we expected. When the concrete was finally poured on a Monday, they were not able to get it finished to a smooth and professional surface. I’m not sure why they couldn’t get it smoothed out (concrete too dry, very hot day, not enough workers, other). Regardless, Matt came to us and stated that he was not satisfied with the product and would make it right. At that point they basically quit working to finish it and left it as poured (very rough and looking like it has been driven on repeatedly). Matt stated they needed to let it dry a few days and he would be back on Friday to present some options to us to correct the situation. He was going to look into putting a pea gravel/epoxy surface over our entire driveway and new concrete to prevent having to tear it out and redo. Or if we did decide we wanted to tear it out, he would hire a concrete company to do it all. Unfortunately, that is the last we ever saw or heard from him. The crew never returned to haul off the landscaping they removed when they dug for the piers. They left all of this shrubbery AND their lunch trash laying all over our yard. They cleaned out the concrete truck after they quit pouring and left it in a huge pile in our yard. They had a dumpster in our driveway with the old concrete (which he told us he sold to a friend for fill). That disappeared on the Wednesday after they poured the concrete, but we had no contact when they came to get it. We sent the owner, Matt, pictures of all the trash and concrete and asked him to please come clean it up as his contract had stated he would, but received no response. We sent him several text messages and voice mails asking to meet to resolve the situation, but have never heard from him again. Fortunately, we only paid him half of the contract price when he started the job and I have no intention of paying him the rest. We have had to contract with another company to tear out and redo the concrete, so I will be spending the money for that. We also had to haul off all of the old shrubbery and worker’s trash. The external piers appear to be installed well and the settling issues we were experiencing seem to have been resolved when he jacked up the house using the piers. Our contract states that we have a life-time warranty on the pier installation. However, given the lack of response we have received from Mr. Price, I don’t think this warranty is worth the paper on which it is written.

  • Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the work, timelines, professionalism, etc. The only issue that I would nitpick on would be over forms of payment. They do not take credit card, (they do but they charge over 5% interest, I think almost 9% if I remember, it was ridiculously high). I had to send a check. I guess I didn't even think to ask regarding payment as I figured in todays forms of payment, Apple pay, Venmo, credit card, cash, Bitcoin (lol), credit card would be accepted (w/o a up charge). Perhaps I am young, but I had to search 4 hours for my checkbook, remember how to write a check, cross my fingers that it won't get lost in the mail, and then wait 5 days for the bank to process the payment. This review will be up for two weeks before I know the company has finalized my payment. And of course, I miss out on my cash back rewards for using my Bank of America credit card (I'll take kick backs on that BOA plug for any reps out there... :) Anyway, the company was great....just take credit cards guys!

  • Carlos, the lead on my job, and his crew arrived on time and his crew did a wonderful job in correcting the problem. I was amazed at how they could lift a slab and get the floor leveled as well as they did. They buried the 3 downspouts so rain water would go into the yard instead of in the garage. Carlos explained the whole scope of the project, answered all questions throughout the project and completed it in 2 days. Everything was cleaned up. The yard was cleaned up and dirt and grass put where it belongs. I couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend Foundation 1 to everyone.

  • I was dreading this project but Foundation 1 made the process of having piers installed and raising the house's foundation much easier. Dave called several times to make sure I understood the process, came to the house a second time to show me what would be done and answer any other questions I had, and kept in contact while the work was being done to make sure that I was happy with the process. Carlos and his team were friendly, professional and hardworking. I am very pleased with the work they did, the way they kept to the timeline/schedule in spite of having to do additional piers, and the way they cleaned up after the project. Thanks

  • JLB Foundation and team came to the rescue with a super reasonable price. I had gutter's with downspouts that dumped water directly on the ground causing erosion and damage to existing concrete (created a void under my front steps). JLB Foundation and team redirected the water out into my yard by burying my downspouts, putting in downspout drain boxes, and filling in the dirt where I had soil erosion. They also applied common sense on the best time to do the work to avoid creating ruts and tearing up my existing grass. I would recommend JLB Foundation to my family, friends, and neighbors. I would also use them again.

  • Fantastic. Matt, Tom, Rosavio, Angel and Dave all did a great job. Super friendly and rolled with the changes as we encountered new issues. They came up with a better plan and followed through ahead of schedule. Cleaned up so well it was like there was never a mess! I could not recommend this team of people more.

  • I called and told them the situation and they scheduled Darrell to give me an estimate. Got a confirmation email from him. The day before he was supposed to come out, he called me and asked if he could come by in a couple of hours. I said that was not convenient, as I had to take off work. He said he would see me at the scheduled time. I took off work and he was not there 20 minutes after appt. I called and he asked if he could reschedule and then told me his boss didn't think they could help us, without even looking at the issue. Extremely unprofessional.

  • Top notch company. Thanks to Dave the evaluator in which he did a complete inspection to Stephanie in the office which was very helpful to me to Matt (job forman) and crew that performed the repairs to Curt the owner. The work was done professionally on time, they kept the mess to a minimum which was a big plus for me. They had no problem answering all of my questions and keeping me informed. Also curt the owner of the company personally stopped by after the repairs to see if i was completely satisfied with there work. I was very impressed from start to finish. Would definitlely recommend them.
