  • The meeting started out great. Dr. Coscia explained in great detail what was going on with my spine and what was necessary to fix it. But in the end, he kept telling me about a man in his 70's who had the operation and that it was a total success, but the man's wife died 2 weeks later. Then he told me to go skiing and enjoy life because you never know what's going to happen. He didn't give the option to have the surgery and didn't offer me any solution at all for the pain I was suffering from. I think he decided that I was to old to bother with and just sent me home. Very disappointed. I have now scheduled Lumbar Spinal Fusion surgery with a different doctor at a different facility that treated me like real patient, not a tired old man. :(

  • I can't describe my happiness with dr. David schwartz. So professional, caring, and skilled. He took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything. I felt I was in great hands from start to finish. He never seemed to rush an appointment. I would highly recommend.

  • All of our visits to VCA ACC have been superb. The doctors and the vet techs have been compassionate and patient, and they are very good at their professions. Before choosing Dr. Pugliese for surgery, we had surgical consultations at two other facilities. A surgeon at another facility was very dismissive of our concerns and the price was $2,000 more for the CCL surgery (TPLO) than the quote we received from VCA. In contrast, Dr. Pugliese anticipated many of our worries (and did not dismiss them), was kind and gentle with our dog, and went out of her way to accommodate our dog's special needs. I can't imagine a better surgical experience than our very recent one at VCA ACC. The cost below is for that surgery. We also received excellent care and advice from Dr. Fitzpatrick a few weeks earlier. Christie in the internal medicine department has also been terrific and she really understands XXL dogs. Finally, although our dog (being blind) was sometimes fearful of the therapy treatments, Dr. Talaga's patient approach won her over. I'm grateful for how well our dog was treated during all her VCA ACC visits, as well as the follow-up communications I've received. This is the best treatment facility I've ever been to and it certainly has the best people.

  • they did refer me a spinal surgeon who in turn referred me to a physical therapist. The staff (nurse and doctor) were rather lax in greeting me. Also there was no receptionist in the mri area. I had to go looking for one even though I was there at the appointed time.

  • Both hands were done at the same time. Dr. Combs provided valuable information that helped me evaluate whether to have the surgeries done at the same time. His advice on the recovery was very practical and did not encourage me to spend money on physical therapy that was not needed.

  • Horribly wrong. Dr. Scheid SIMPLY said, I need to go back in and put the right size in. This is not an option with me. I live with daily constant pain in my mid thigh until I can get a revision surgeon to take a look at this. Do yourself a favor and seek out a private Orthopedic Dr. and get several opinions. I didn't have time and thought I was doing the right thing by going with a larger facility. I was just a number and now they want me to PAY again to correct the Doctor's mistake.

  • Dr Lehman diagnosed my ankle pain as peroneal tendonitis that needed to be repaired on my right ankle. First and foremost the "process" to go to the doctors was the best that I have ever experienced. Almost everything was automated.....set up details on the internet BEFORE the appointment, provide the med details. When I went to the office all I had to do is provide some basic information on the computer screen and within minutes I spoke with the physician! The only concern is the process might be too good! When I spoke with the physician it lasted just a few minutes. Once I finally got operated a few weeks later Dr Lehman gave me the details etc and the nurses and work staff were friendly and outstanding!

  • Full disclosure: I met Dr. Simmons because we played for the same roller derby team so I know her personally. However, I feel fully qualified to say that she is an excellent doctor who truly cares about her patients and the level of care she delivers. She is an stellar communicator, which is a trait I value highly in my medical providers. I could tell she felt terrible delivering the news that my hand was broken (I'd been walking around for four days thinking it was a lesser injury). But I felt confident that she knew what was best for me.
We tried to let the break heal in a splint for two weeks and I was able to continue playing roller derby. However, a follow-up visit showed that the bone (fifth metacarpal) was healing slightly off and pointing my pinkie finger in a wonky position. Again, I could tell she was empathetic in telling me I needed to consult with a specialist about surgery. She handed me over to an excellent doctor, Kathryn Peck of the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center, and stayed involved with my post-surgery recovery plan. She gave me a clear program to safely return to playing my sport.
I have the utmost faith that Dr. Simmons knows how to balance an athlete's safety and health with their desire to return to play. I don't think I could possibly recommend a doctor more highly. She balances intelligence and knowledge with great communication skills, and a genuine empathy for her patients.
The facilities at St. Vincent Sports Performance in Clay Terrace seem top-of-line. The billing was straightforward and the front desk staff and x-ray techs were extremely courteous. Overall, it was the best experience I could have imagined considering I was in the not-so-desirable situation of having a broken hand.

  • Surgery went well as well as recovery. I was walking neighborhood w/walker in 2 weeks, riding my bicycle in neighborhood in 4 weeks. 5 weeks of PT was a must. I am now 5 months out and can overdo like shopping for 9 hrs straight but just need to ice and rest for a couple of days. Never have any problem with walking or riding my bike. Dr Monesmith did a great job. I also still do my stretching exercises and ice.
