Insurance Agent reviews in Houston

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • When I first moved to Texas and bought a house I didn't spent a lot of time searching for insurance.  I got a couple quotes and went with the one that I though was the best deal.  Over the course of the 4 years that I had insurance with them my rates continued to climb, although I had never filed a claim.  When it came close to renewal time this year  I called to see why my rates were constantly going up.  I was told by a very unprofessional agent (on speaker phone with food in her mouth), that is just the way it is. I decided to shop around.  In the meantime I got a notice on my flood insurance that I had to provide proof I lived in the house or there would be a large surcharge/penalty added to my policy renewal this year.  I called back to the agent to see what sort of "proof" they needed.  I was told...don't worry, we'll handle it.  Again, the agent answer on a very poor quality speaker phone, the background noise, coupled with her access was so bad I had to continually ask her to repeat things and to slow down.  She obviously didn't handle it because when I go the renewal notice the $450 penalty was included in my rate.
After I shopped around for better rates on my homeowners and auto policy I found a much better deal, and a far more professional agent.  I signed up for the new insurance with the new agent.  Even though the new agent sent a notice of new coverage (I was copied on the notice) I called Provider name locked. to make sure the policy was cancelled so they wouldn't take money out of my mortgage escrow account for the new policy year.  I was told to fax the cancellation notice in, which I did to the number they provided.
After I sent in the cancellation notice I received a call from the agent offering me far lower rates than they had said were available when I called earlier.  Even though they called me with this better deal, they kept putting me on hold to "check on something".  I explained that when I had called earlier they said there were no better rates so I shopped around.
About the time of my renewal, sure enough, my escrow account was debited for the full year of insurance.  I called, faxed and emailed again to see why my policy hadn't been cancelled. Finally after repeated phone calls, faxes and emails I finally go them to acknowledge my cancellation and process my refund over two months later.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with an insurance company.  They are rude, unprofessional and have absolutely now respect for their clients time.  Each time I called, or they called me, I would be put on hold for 5 to 15 minutes at a time.  I would not recommend them to anyone and in fact, have shared by horrible service experience with my friends to warn them.

  • When I first moved to Texas, I needed to switch over my auto insurance, and started working with Provider name locked. --he, along with his assistant, Provider name locked. , was extremely responsive, and the team constantly searched to find me the best insurance at the most reasonable prices.  There aren't many insurance agents who will continue looking for cheaper options even after you've agreed to purchase a policy through them, but Provider name locked. is that kind of guy.  Long story short, since my initial work back in 2008, I have moved from Dallas to Houston, gotten married, purchased a home, and had a child, and every step of the way, I have worked with Provider name locked. and Provider name locked. .  They will always be my first call for insurance, and I know I can trust that they're getting me a fair rate.  Customer service is outstanding:  I've never had to wait more than an hour to hear back from Provider name locked. or Provider name locked. regarding a question, and all my requests have always been handled the same day they are made. Their orices vary, but have always been reasonable.

  • Fantastic!  Very fast response to voice message; thorough coverage explanation and answers to all questions; offered multiple options and handled all documents via email in same day.  Improved my coverage, lowered my deductibles and saved me a LOT of money-doesn't get any better!
