  • Coordinated this work with another contractor doing painting.  Recommended floors first, but recommended coming back for the final coat after the painter.  This worked well but was addtional effort for the contractor which was appreciated.  Was quick with the estimate, estimate was competitive, showed up on time, crews worked efficiently and did quality work on the time promised.
Provider name locked. , the owner (I think) is responsive and precise (Provider name locked. doesn't use 2 words where one will do) with communications.  Overall I would use them again and recommend them.  I did have to ask several questions to ensure understanding of the proposal and modified his proposal from two coats of poly to 3, but communication was quick, we agreed the work plan and it was executed as promised.

  • This is the first negative review I've ever posted.  I renewed my Angie's List account just so I could post this review.  I've always believed that positive reviews should be praised in public and that problems should be brought to the business owner's attention in private -  evermore so with small businesses just trying to make a decent living.
I first reached out to Provider name locked. for his services on December 26, 2014.  My oldest dog had recently passed away.  She needed the stability of carpet in her last few months. After her passing, we were ready to update the look of our house.  In Provider name locked. 's initial visits he would always joke how cold our home was inside but admitted he was cold-natured.  My husband and I are not, especially with 3 dogs in the house.  We maintain a constant temperature of 68-69 degrees year round.
Provider name locked. accepted my job immediately and started without delay in early January.  The demo was a ton of work.  There were several different types of floors installed over the years by previous owners.  Our goal was to have a uniform surface throughout the entire first floor.  Once they removed all old flooring they brought the oak in to acclimate. The temperature downstairs did decrease after all the furniture and carpet were removed. I even joked about covering the oak with a blanket so that it would warm up.  Provider name locked. said everything would be fine.
I had issues with his crew after the first few days.  Early on, Provider name locked. was present on my job site.  After the holidays his business picked back up and he was rarely present.  In his absence, his crew was very unproductive and sloppy.  They left trash for days on end in my front yard, they socialized with an unrelated crew doing work on my neighbor's home,  they sat inside my home texting on their phones, even asking if I had wifi.  I brought these issues to Provider name locked. 's attention and expressed my concern that if he said something to them there would be repercussions on my job site from his crew in his absence.   He admitted this wasn't the first time clients had brought this behavior to his attention and he appreciated me letting him know.  My cause for irritation was only due to their lack of productivity.  My first floor is less than 800 sq feet.  With 3 guys working, they were progressing very slowly post demo.
Once the float was complete, my husband and I expressed concern over installing hardwoods directly over concrete.  He talked about a moisture Provider name locked. application that was rolled on to the concrete, similar to paint, that was green in color.  We were present throughout the installation and have no pictures of a green Provider name locked. on the floor.  While he does have a receipt for the moisture Provider name locked. , he was not present on the day they were supposed to apply it.  We also questioned if it would take to an ice cold concrete slab.
The floors were gorgeous when they were finally done.  We thought the shoe molding looked cheap but Provider name locked. was the lowest price from any other contractor and we were just glad to have our house back.
Less than 2 months after completion,  my floors began to buckle throughout the entire first floor.
Provider name locked. came to the house and said we should wait for warmer temps and see if the floor would Provider name locked. back down.   He commented that I wasn't going to like the process in which they could fix it; re-sanding and bringing all the dust back.
The floors in the kitchen got worse.  Provider name locked. came back for several inspections yet never took any accountability for the work until June.   He admitted he had the same problem in a home 2 years prior in which he installed hardwoods over slab.  He stated he should have never done this again. At that visit, he had hired a new employee who accompanied him to my house.  This gentleman got on his knees in my living room and ran his hands over the buckled floor agreeing that it was bad.
Throughout this all, Provider name locked. kept saying my house was too humid and cold.  We had a dehumidifier in at his request but there was hardly ever any water in the bucket.  We also had a new AC installed the year before Provider name locked. began work.  To this day, he can only say that the temperatures in my house weren't conducive to his work yet he choose to start a job in January giving me 100% assurance they would be just fine.  He feels I have attacked him yet haven't posted any negative reviews until today.  Because I "attacked him" he will not fix the work in my house.   I did send me him an email this past summer stating, "We were all done here".  I was scared to bring his crew back into my home knowing that I wasn't happy with their work.  I had 4 other contractors who refused to fix the floors because there was no present moisture Provider name locked. .  They didn't want to take on someone else's mistake.   After finding no one who would help me with the floors, I resorted back to Provider name locked. .  His response was captured at the top of this post.
I am currently pursuing legal action against Provider name locked. .
Neighbors, friends, beware.  Provider name locked. is a smiling sales man that likes to talk about God and his blessings.  He will routinely say he isn't charging you for something as if he's doing you a favor.  Provider name locked. 's crew did not install a moisture Provider name locked. in my home.  I've had an independent inspection done on the now exposed concrete and there's no Provider name locked. of it.  we've had to pull up a portion of the floor because the buckling was so bad it caused a trip and safety hazard.  The moisture Provider name locked. should be very visible once the floor is removed.  IT"S NOT THERE.
Provider name locked. , we'll see you in Court.  May God be with you.
