AI wasn’t really sure what a life coach could help with. I had some vague ideas, and goals, but personally I didn’t know anyone that had gone out and worked with someone. After many good sessions I can say, transformative. Dr. V is incredibly kind, helpful, and compassionate. You just get this sense that he wants to see you succeed and is deeply knowledgeable about how to help you get there. What’s even more amazing, is that with time, you realize that you can help yourself. Before I started working with Dr. V, I was overwhelmed, but not even fully aware of it (I thought I was doing pretty well). My primary concern was how could I manage parenting, entrepreneurship, and being a good person- wife, mother, daughter, etc. and my ever-increasing stress levels. I was surviving, but not really thriving. After working with Dr. V on mindfulness training and life coaching, I have a much greater sense of clarity of not just where I want to go in my life, but why. I have much better habits in place. Most importantly, I feel much more peaceful and significantly less stressed. I believe in myself again. I’m happier than I have been in over a decade and I’m confident enough to make big changes in my life. I also appreciate all the little good things (especially the people) that I already have in my life a lot more. One other nice thing about working with Dr. V was that since he’s also a therapist, he was able to recommend other professionals (such as a couples' therapist) that have helped me have overall better balance and happiness in my life. If you’re in Texas, definitely reach out to Dr. V and see if he can help you out with whatever your life challenges are.

AI highly recommend Salif as a life coach. In our work together focusing on life obstacles, he provided exceptional value in his ability to offer concrete tools, identify obstacles, and create a plan of action. My sessions with him helped to identify what was preventing me from reaching my goals and living the life I really wanted. He was very understanding and provided a supportive ear to gain the clarity for change.

DIts called Wrongful Retention I believe. I wish there was a way to just rate the terrible billing department because both of my surgeons were wonderful, one of which has put me back together again about 8 times over the past 40 years. The manager (Sharri I believe) in the billing department is withholding a credit balance and is refusing to refund my over-payment until the insurance pays all of their share. The problem is her department: 1) sat on a few grand of physical therapy invoices for 7 months and then submitted them with the wrong doctor so naturally the insurance would not pay until they provided the correct physician. I have been using Methodist sports medicine physical therapy since and they have been awsome! And they actually submit their invoices once a month to ins and are paid 100% within 7 days. 2)Then I paid 100% upfront for a $700 procedure but the billing department entered the wrong code and billed me $2K for that procedure. 3) When I needed surgery weeks later they made me pay for the hospital fees up front since i had a balance owed (only due to their error)and they then applied my payment to the incorrect $2K charge and I paid them unable to really dispute as I am about to have surgery. You actually have to ask for a detail bill as it is not provided anywhere online so the overcharge went unnoticed for a month. 4) When they finally corrected the billing and credited my account $1,300 they now refuse to refund it until those old physical therapy charges are paid by insurance (not paid yet because of THEIR error in submitted the wrong physicians). I am almost healed after two surgeries and Fondren still hasn't paid my credit. I have called every week for 4 weeks and although I truly love both my surgeons that did great jobs, the billing department is truly terrible.

Fjust now This was our worse hospital experience ever!!!! If you have a sick child DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!! Take them to Texas Children so they can get the care that they need. Texas Children, doctors, team care, professionalism, how they operate, and knowledge is like going to Chick-fil-A and Memorial is like going to McDonalds. If I can use that as an analogy. Worse doctors I have ever encountered. The nurses seemed to be more knowledgeable and confident than the doctors. It could of been that I have a black child and they could care less!!!! But I think it was more that they were just doctors that don't care, were mediocre, and not trained properly. One of their doctor said to me that 170 as the top number for blood pressure wasn't a problem for a child. 😳 Another just kept tapping his feet like he was inexperienced and full of anxiety. 😳Another I heard speaking negative things as he walked out the door with the group of other doctors. 😳 Who wants to trust their child in doctors hands saying those types of things or exhibiting those behaviors??? I don't know much, but I know my child's blood pressure shouldn't have been that high and it was getting to a dangerous number. And they should of been doing everything they could to bring it down. I had to ask over and over for them to actually give him something to bring it down and for pain medicine. They didn't come back and check on my son even when we called the button. He sat with built up urine for hours because they didn't adjust the hose to the catheter bag and when they did within 3-4 minutes the bag filled up and my son's stomach stopped cramping as bad, my son said he thought his kidney stone passed and they kept the catheter in all night and for almost a whole day without checking to see if it could be taken out or if the kidney stone was gone. They didn't do anything until I asked if my child could be transferred to Texas Children. Asked them to ask a doctor for a transfer and for hours no one came. I had to look online on how to get a transfer and the article said to request social services. I had to request social services to actually have a doctor show back up to his room. Once I complained I noticed them doing certain things instead of giving better service. I felt like they just went and fixed the paperwork so it wouldn't reflect poorly on the doctors care, instead of actually fixing the care my child was receiving. I even had to ask the nurse to do his vital signs before discharging him. I could go on and on about the bad service my child received. Again the doctors could careless and said that my sons high blood pressure wasn't an alarming number for a child!!!! They need to get a better team of doctors especially if they are training doctors on how to be doctors. It's a terrible day for future doctors if they are trained by mediocre uncaring doctors like the ones that we endured. By the way, I rushed my child to the nearest hospital available, which was a Memorial. They transported him to the Memorial at the medical center because he was a child. Normally I wouldn't say anything I just would never go back, but that's how terrible my experience was. Bad enough to leave a review. Also they put something in my sons discharge papers like I smoked during my pregnancy because he was premature or he was around people that smoke. I HAVE NEVER SMOKED AND NO ONE IN MY FAMILY SMOKES and my son haven't been around any second hand smoke. And they didn't ask me either. I guess im Black so they get to assume that my son was premature and I must of smoked or someone did. Smdh!!!! I was highly offended that it was just assumed and not even asked. Meaning they don't look into what an issue really could be because assuming will definitely lead to a misdiagnosis. I guess they felt my son wasn't worth receiving decent treatment or they are just horrible doctors. I will not ever go back.

ABrain Health Consultants and TMS CenterI can't say enough good things about my experience with Brain Health Consultants. I had an episode of severe depression when I was younger and it nearly resulted in me taking my own life as it lasted for more than a year and my functionally was significantly compromised, which exacerbated the depressive cycle. I had a relapse many years later and since I knew just how devastating the illness and its symptoms can be and how questionable the efficacy of typical antidepressant medication is, I became very interested in TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) therapy. Of course, I knew I also likely needed pharamaceutical assistance and psychotherapy. This was one of the few clinics I could find in Houston which offered all 3 services. Dr. Rayan Al-Jurdi and his team are phenomenal. Most importantly, they are very friendly and compassionate and make you feel comfortable. The approach at Brain Health Consultants is to thoroughly diagnose ALL of the factors in your psychological challenges. I felt very comfortable at the end of our first meeting that Dr. Al-Jurdi had a strong, clear sense of what was ailing me and I was very impressed at how well he understood the uniqueness of my personality and brain after just 2 visits. Brain Health Consultants provided a customized and comprehensive treatment plan for me, which included TMS. If you have suffered from Depression, I highly highly encourage you to explore and consider TMS. Unlike antidepressants, it is an uninvasive therapy with the most innocuous side effect profile you will find out of any Depression treatment option. TMS isn't cheap, but some insurance companies are starting to cover it and the value of restoring your psychological wellness far exceeds the costs of the therapy. I believe one characteristic that makes Brain Health Consultants unique is that the team truly has its focus on your long term wellness and places a premium on the long term, not the short term. This is very important in my opinion since far too often getting out of a Depressive episode is only half the battle as relapse is an ugly and distinct possibility. Pills don't fully address the core drivers of Depression and Anxiety, but Brain Health Consultants will ensure that your treatment goes beyond a simple pill prescription. I haven't fully recovered yet but I am doing significantly better and I was in a very, very dark place just a couple of months ago. More importantly, I can rest assured that I am maximizing my chances for success because I know I am in very good hands with the team at Brain Health Consultants.- Rahul B.

ACorke, Dr. Patricia PSaw Dr. Cork for several years and she was very effective in treating my condition. She is very knowledgeable of available treatments, does a good job of evaluating effectiveness of prescribed treatment, and making adjustments as necessary. She is also very good about listening to side effects of treatment as part of evaluating effectiveness. Her staff is friendly and easy to deal with. They did a good job dealing with insurance company even when insurance changed. She does not accept common credit cards but accepts only cash, personal checks, and maybe American Express (don't remember since always paid cash). Very satisfied.- David S.

ALive Better Live NowI felt the need to seek out a professional counselor that was within my company's health insurance network. Not knowing really knowing how to choose one, I made appointments with a few of them to see if I could find one I could 'click' with. Thankfully, after a few sessions with other counselors, I came across Ben and couldn't be more happy that I found my way into his office. First and foremost, I don't feel judged - sessions are akin to talking to a very trusted friend, who is unbiased but still has my best interest at heart. I feel Ben is very engaged and attentive during our sessions. Ben has helped me come up with some 'thinking out of the box' suggestions on how to approach/overcome obstacles and triggers that life seems to throw at you. Second, I find Ben to be very connected within the mental health community here. I've needed to reach out to other services in town and having Ben's first hand knowledge has been a tremendous resource for me to use when deciding whom I choose to work with. I would be more than happy to recommend Ben to anyone needing a great counselor to talk with. I'm not sure how much longer I will need Ben's service but I I feel that I have found an amazing resource to work through life's challenges.- STORMY L.
