Quan Yin Healing Arts Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal
I have been going to Karen at Quan Yin for over 3 years. I can say that she saved my life (my quality of life). I have suffered from migraines for over 20 years, trying literally every known treatment from medications, seeing a chiropractor, Botox injections you name it. Very little helped. As a last hope I tried acupuncture and slowly it helped to the point where I am barely getting one headache every 6 months now. I wish I had tried it first. I continue to go back for tune ups when I need to. Karen is an extremely professional, caring and talented practitioner. She makes you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Karen for your treatment needs.

    Michele's Day Care
Incredible. Michele is professional, kind and caring. She will go out of her way to do anything to help you or your children out. When my father in law passed away, she volunteered to have our son sleep over (at no cost) so we could both attend the about service!!! She is not just our sons daycare provider, she has become our friend.

Kidco is a great Daycare/PreSchool. My kids have been going there since they were four months old. I feel like Kidco has enriched them every step of the way. The girls in the infant room are really patient and sweet. They partner with parents to make sure your baby is getting what they need at every stage. As a new mom, I found their day in day out experience with lots of babies invaluable. In each of the rooms (infant, Waddler, Toddler, Pre School) children are provided with a stimulating environment to learn and play. All of the teachers are very friendly and outgoing. They are talkative and informative about your child's day. Once your child reaches Pre School, they are following a true curriculum. Pre Schoolers enjoy field trips in the summer and fall as well as regular trips to the public library. We have been very pleased with our Kidco experience over the past four years. We found that the price is extremely competitive as well. We would recommend Kidco to anyone.

Kidco is who we selected for our daughter's pre-school. She started at 3 and had been with family prior to attending pre-school so we were worried about the adjustment. The staff of teachers is great - very caring with her and us - the nervous parents. Their curriculum is comprehensive and the structure mixed with play time is well balanced. We love Miss Melissa and have noticed in just a few weeks all the teachers know our daughter's name and us as well. Also in the month she has been there we have noticed marked improvement in her vocabulary, writing skills and creative play. We are very happy with our selection and would highly recommend Kidco for pre-school and child care.
Price is very competitive - she attends 3 days a week.

I am highly impressed with this daycare center.  My son doesn't go full-time, but he just got right into the swing of things and loves his teacher and classmates.  All the staff seems really invested-- The first time I stopped by, all the children were napping, but I could overhear the staff chatting with each other.  They all seemed happy and upbeat, and I heard a lot of comments like "Hey, look at this cute art project so-and-so made today!" which made me think they were actually enjoying their work.  The facility is immaculately clean, and the children always seem very secure and calm.  The director (Josette) also seems connected and involved, and she always knows the details of each child's day.
They are incredibly flexible with scheduling.  "Hey, can I send my son for like two hours next Tuesday?"  "Sure, no problem, I'll add that to our calendar."

My appointments were twice weekly. I rarely had to wait more than a couple of minutes. He was always punctual. One of the things I like about his office is that we had private rooms for much of the therapies that didn't require gym like equipment. For times when things were painful or awkward it is nice to have some dignity and privacy. I have had PT where everyone is in a big room and it is uncomfortable to go through some of the procedures and therapies in an exposed setting. I always felt like my best interests were the concern. When my insurance ran out he gave me very clear instructions on how to do things at home and I was offered his counseling if I had questions or concerns.

The two women in the toddler room were dressed unprofessionally, they looked as if they were headed to the club.
    The room was dirty.
My son who is 14 months, and does not walk yet went exploring and seemed to enjoy the wide cariety of colorful toys. The other children (three of them) were sitting down in small chairs for snack time along a small counter. The food was served on a paper plate in front of each child. It did concern me that the children were facing away from the staff while they were eating. I asked if my son could sit in one of the chairs to try it out. When my son sat in the chair one of the women asked if he could have cheerios which I agreed to. She placed a paper plate down along with a styrofoam bowl filled with cheerios in front of him. My son was so excited and began eating the cheerios. I told the staff that my son has only used a highchair and tray and has never dealt with plates and bowls. My son is also spoon fed certain foods. My son picked up the bowl out of curiousity and dumped some of the cheerios on the paper plate. The woman rushed over and put the cheerios back in the bowl. My son again dumped the cheerios onto the plate and the woman swooped in and grabbed the plate from him and then threw the cheerios in the garbage. I expressed my concern regarding the incident and she responded that when children play with their food they don't want it and if he did he would have cried. I disagreed with her and expressed once again that my son has not had any experience besides a highchair and he needed to be transitioned with some patience. The woman clearly could care less and shrugged off my concern. On the way out I spoke to the director and she said that I should make sure I cut my son's food very small and to remind the two women in the room that my son needs assistance eating.  I decided against this facility and expressed why to the director and she obviously cared less.
I would not feel comfortable with my son in this environment and as a new parent taking a tour I feel more energy and enthusiasm should be displayed and more information offered. I was told this facility has a high staff turn over rate by someone who uses this center.

I had contacted them about touring the facility to see if we would like it enough to enroll my son for daycare. They were very prompt in returning my call and was able to schedule a visit with them very soon after the phone call. We were very pleased until we got there. As soon as I walked in, I decided that I'd never enroll my son there. It stunk. It smelled of poop, pee and bleach. It was awful. And all that the director cared about was the tuition cost. We were not at all impressed with the facility and will never be using it.

As always, I felt that I received high quality services from this provider. The office is located in a pleasant section of Newington and has ample parking. The waiting room area is extremely pleasant and relaxing. I love the fact that this business is not part of a hair salon so there are no chemical treatment smells present and no noise from hair dryers, etc. The massage rooms are really nice and the music played is relaxing. I would highly recommend trying this provider although the price of an hour massage is not cheap-$75-but that seems to be the going rate these days.

Quan Yin Healing Arts Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal
I've been going to her for a year now, she's great. I wouldn't be going every other week if I didn't think it was useful. She's a trained herbalist as well and she's great. She's very flexible with people.
