"This was a nightmare that still haunts me financially 12 years later. The job was performed 3/4 of the way by 1 worker who subsequently needed to leave the job for medical reasons. I was told that the job was given to him through the company as a "favor". The favor was definitely not mine. I am not sure what his credentials were. The rest of the room was finished in a timely manner. I have a total of 7 windows and a door leading to the outside.
From the start, with any rain, I would get water streaming down the back wall from the frame of the window. I also had leaking in the roof. C & Z responded quickly and I was assured that the work done would remedy the problem. Someone was back 2- 3 times with "fixes" that never fixed the problem.
In 2008 I had another construction company re-side, re-roof and add a front porch to my home. I was told that all of the windows in the sun room would need to be re-framed. New insulation was added and a new roof was added. Now, finally, I have no more water coming into my room.
In addition, the 3 windows along the back are not hung evenly- space between them does not match and one of them is not even straight.
I have to take some responsibility as I was younger and had virtually no experience dealing with contractors. I had expectations that were not realized and I should have been more forceful in my demands for satisfaction. I was naive enough to think that I would receive the quality work that I was promised.
Flash forward to today. I have 3 windows that have broken seals. When I called the company, surprisingly, in my file there is no record of what type of windows were installed and there is no indication on the window as to who is the manufacturer. I imagine the only remedy is to

replace the windows. The original cost of the project 12 years ago was approximately $20,000. In the end, adding the cost of re-framing, insulation and new windows, the cost has dramatically increased.
This was 1 huge disappointment.

"We built a home with Charter in the spring of 2011. During the entire build process, Charter was fantastic. They were responsive, attentive, professional, helpful: everything you would want in a builder. The neighborhood manager was outstanding, as were the interior decorator and the construction manager. We are thrilled with the quality and value of our home. It's gorgeous and Charter really seems to understand what modern families want in a home. They have a wide variety of floorplans and options from which to choose, truly something for everyone.
And now for the negative point, the service after the sale. Charter provides a one year home warranty. New owners have a 45 day walk through and an 11 month walk through to address any problematic issues with the home. Seems very generous, right? But the Home Care Manager is nearly impossible to get ahold of which leads one to believe that Charter wants to SELL you a home, but they don't much care about what happens after that point. It takes multiple emails and phone calls to get anyone's attention. I have long since stopped assuming that anyone will show up to my home at the stated time and you can guarantee that only about half of the promised repairs will get completed on the first visit. Clearly Charter does not employee enough people to function in the role of care manager and they don't seem to grasp the damage that this lack of responsiveness does to their reputation. Calls to supervisors go unanswered. Not even a letter to the Charter president garnered a response. I should also add that NONE of the repairs needed to our home are major. All of them could be handled fairly quickly and easily. But calls, emails and letters go unanswered. I previously wrote a glowing review of Charter but this recent turn of events turned a positive building process into a very negative experience, calling Charter's reputation and integrity into question.

" I was very pleased with the overall job. Prompt, courteous, trustworthy, clean, worked with us throughout the process when there was a change to the original plans. We went to work every morning and were sure that the work would proceed during the day without supervision on our part.

was recommended to us by a friend who also had work done by him and was also pleased with a job well done. "

"He was verry slow and didn't show on days, he was a better salesman then contractor, it was to hot or to cold his workers were tired and had to give them a day off, at the end he over charged us from the agreed contract price off 45000, but 3000. more claiming he hired sub-contractor to do some of the work with out notifying us he took old storm doors off but charged extra to install a new door."

"We had an excellent experience. Unlike friends who used other builders and had bad experiences, we found the allowances in the contract to be reasonable. It was evident throughout the process that everyone engaged with

Builder enjoys what they do and takes pride in building "homes," not just houses. They were very responsive to questions throughout the entire build. They finished both homes on schedule. The owner has a strong code of ethics and we learned to always trust his word. The subcontractors they engage were equally great to work with and almost made choosing lights, appliances, fixtures, etc. fun. We were very pleased with both homes-the attention to detail and the quality of the workmanship are evident. We would, without any reservation, recommend this builder."

. From the very beginning of our

was very easy to talk to and interested in how we wanted to improve our home. He was open with us and listened to what we wanted to have done to our house. He took the time to come to our house, listen to our needs, and give experienced recommendations.

employees and subcontractors provided us with excellent service. They were very respectful of our home, family environment, and worked around our schedule.Everyone who worked with us took the time to listen to what we wanted and offered suggestions to ensure we considered all our options. The workers kept the work site clean. All debris was removed promptly.
The addition on our home appears to have been part of the original home . Our neighbors are always stopping and complimenting us on our addition. What really made us feel like we chose an excellently qualified contractor was when our township inspector and loan inspector both complimented and made comments to us on the excellent quality of craftsmanship that went into our addition. These two people go to many home renovations and told us that it was some of the best work they have seen.

"Everything went well! They were able to squeeze us in their schedule quickly & they were able to work with our budget. Once the job started, they were on time & stayed on schedule. They cleaned up before they left each day (wouldn't have even noticed they were there unless we walked into the one room they were finishing). If we had questions they were quick to respond. Couldn't have asked for it to go any better! Very accomodating!
We're recommending them to our parents & will recommend them to others in the future!
We'll be calling them down the road for other projects we have in mind.

"The technician arrived promptly at 10:00am, the scheduled appointment time. He was very professional. He replaced the light fixture and asked if there was anything else that needed done. The whole process took about 10mins. I was very pleased with the prompt response to my initial call and accurate arrival time.

"We viewed many new home developments and builders and found a lot and home design that worked for us. We hadfun choosing the options for our home and watching it go up but there were a few changes that we identified before the ground was broken that they refused to even address. After multiple attempts to change the flooring in one room and the appliances, both of which are the last things to go in the home, we were left voiceless and were repeatedly dismissed. The home was completed on time and our builder was wonderful to work with. The corporate office and management on the otehr hand had no intention of honestly listening to our concerns and fixing something that could have easily been resolved and would have been a
