"Caught the big deal too late but e-mailed them anyway. They got back to me and scheduled me in right away. These guys are great. They called and came ahead of estimated time. They were friendly, professional , careful , courteous and reasonable. I will definitely use them in the future and I will tell everyone I know about them.

"They took a little longer than the original estimate, but they worked consistently while completing the move, and wasted no time. They also moved mattresses and two appliances to the street for pickup the next day. Professional, polite, pride intheir work.

There was a struggle with the king size headboard and bringing it up the stairs, but after careful planning they were able to complete the process. I loved the fact they were able to move everything we talked about on the phone
and some extra boxes.

"We were more than pleased with A-1 movers, from start to finish. We had some last minute nightmares with the move requiring rescheduling multiple times and were not penalized in any manner. The owner was very patient with all of this as these were items beyond our control. The crew of 7 men + 2 trucks showed up Sunday AM right on time at 7AM and worked hard every moment. The men were all very cheerful and polite. The only break taken was for lunch, which we provided by our own choice in thanks for all their hard work. I cannot tell you how much we appreciated their work ethic compared to movers we have worked with in the past. They placed all the furniture in the new house exactly where we wanted it, & even moved a couple of pieces more than once!

There was no damage to any piece of furniture, nor to the piano. We had packed up all our dishes, pictures, knickknacks, etc & moved those boxes ourself as a cost saving measure as you pay by the hour & so we didn't feel like we were sitting around Saturday waiting for the Sunday move! I am confident that the same care would have been taken with those items as well, if we had opted for the movers to pack and transport these more fragile items.
We came in less than our $3000 planned budget, and this included tips for the crew. I feel this was because we went with the larger crew of men at the recommendation of the owner, as what had started as a planned 2 day move now had to be completed in 1 day. This size crew came at a higher per hour fee, but also came with the benefit of the move being completed more quickly. We highly recommend A-1 moving!

"I called a month before to set up a move on May 31. I was told that the movers would be there between 7 and 8 am. That time came and went. We waited and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Finally we called and they told us that they had tried to call us several times (THEY HAD NOT). Then we had a few more conversations with them (over 30 mins) and we found out that they 1. been calling the wrong number and 2. had a printer jam so they didn't have any of their reservations for the morning. I had to give them all of my information again. Not sure why they didn't just tell us about the printer jam from the beginning but instead insisted that they had called us numerous times and acted as if it was our fault.
The movers finally showed up and they were nice. They worked quickly. We told them about a fridge that was in our garage in addition to the items inside. They loaded the entire inside and had forgotten about the fridge. At this point the truck was full and one mover said that he didn't know about the fridge b/c he would have loaded that first. The second mover said that he remembered about the fridge so they decided that they would not make us pay for the time to come back and get the fridge after they unloaded the truck. Good thing since it was your fault. As they were moving our entertainment center into our house, they dropped it. It had a ton of scratches and a very big gouge out of the very front corner of it. The mover immediately told my husband, took pictures of it, said he would let his boss know and that they would take care of it ASAP. He asked where we purchased it and said he would go replace it after the weekend. The movers spent a lot of time getting our fridge into our house (too small to fit without coming apart).
After they left, we called the owner,

He also said that he "didn't have any time to deal with us" until a week later. We told him that this was unacceptable and we needed it fixed sooner as his movers caused the damage. He asked us to take photos of it and email them. We did. He sent a cabinet repair man to look at it and fix it a few days later. The gentleman kind of fixed it and said that he would be back to finish it after the weekend. I told him that it looked better but we both agreed that it was not fixed to my liking and it was still noticeable.

(the owner) then called my husband and told him that his cabinet guy had fixed it and that I was happy. He basically wrote us off. A week went by and I never heard back from the cabinet guy so I called him to follow up. He was nice and said he hadn't forgotten about me but was wrapped up in a project and would call me back at the end of the week to set up a time to come back. That was 4 weeks ago! I finally called him today and still haven't heard back from him.
So I have a busted entertainment center that is sort of fixed. I have also noticed tons of scratches and broken parts of our furniture that were not there before this move. Of course these were things that I noticed after I paid the movers. I also paid a lot of money for someone that was over 2 hours and didn't apologize but blamed it on me at first. I also have to continue to follow up with someone to fix something that they broke. I WOULD NOT USE THESE MOVERS.

"I called
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
for a quote a couple of weeks ago and instantly knew that I would probably go with them after speaking with
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
. He was very patient in answering all of my questions and was very thorough in explaining their process, next steps, etc. I called
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
back and scheduled our move. He called me the day before our move and again the morning of our move just to confirm everything. The movers were scheduled to arrive at 11:00am and showed up promptly at 10:59am. They were worked efficiently and were very careful with our stuff (on what turned out to be the hottest day in Greensboro this year so far….94 degrees). They were able to load about 95% of the items in our 3,000 sq/ft house and unload everything into our new home in about 7 hours. I was very impressed. I was not expecting them to be able to get that much of our stuff onto a 26 ft U-Haul truck. I would definitely recommend

and I would definitely use them again.

"My husband originally wanted to use a pod to handle our local move. After reading some horror stories and then reading A-1's reviews on Angie's List, we decided to give A-1 a call. After talking to
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
and getting his hourly rate for 4 guys to handle loading and unloading, we decided to go with A-1. We could not have been happier.

Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
and three others showed up right on time the day of the move (Our original move date was a month earlier but was delayed due to problems with our buyer's loan. A-1 had no issues with the reschedule.) I was still sealing some boxes when they arrived. They started right away and barely stopped for lunch. They brought free boxes for moving the TV's and garment boxes for the closets. They loaded all of these. You never would have known they were being paid by the hour.

Our schedule was to load the day before closing and then have the guys come back and drive to the new house and unload right after the 11:00 closing. Our buyers loan package was held up and the closing was delayed. We found this out after the truck was loaded and the guys gone. We called
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
after 9:00 that night and, since we did not know what time the next day the close would happen, he rescheduled the move to the day after we closed. There was a slight storage fee since we were tieing up the truck for an additional day but it was minimal.

Our close ended up happening after 5:00 pm so the reschedule worked out perfectly.
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
and the same crew returned right on time and at the same time we got the key to the new house. Some final items were loaded and they drove to the new house

The unloading went very quickly. It had rained fairly hard the day the truck set and one of the boxes got a little wet.
Greensboro Movers Provider Name Locked
was extremely apologetic and offered to have the few wet items dry cleaned at their expense (and the items were only a little damp). While the crew was fast and efficient, they were also careful. They even put felt on the bottom of furniture to protect the hardwood. Nothing was damaged in the move.

In prior moves, the crews started talking about a tip before the job was half done. A-1's guys never mentioned a tip. We decided to give them one since they were so fast, careful and friendly. And they handled part of the move in the rain and never complained. When they got the tip they were surprised and appreciative.

Our experience with A-1 was nothing but positive. Affordable and professional. We highly recommend them for moving services.
