  • For some, but not all the nursing staff, the comfortableness did not seem to be a priority. The hospital itself did not provide any kind of face or eye covering to keep out the lights that were on and or blinking. I was only able to get about 2-1/2 hours sleep because of all the lights.

  • I have gone to Urgent Medical and Family Care at least twice per year between 2013 and 2015 for lab work regarding a chronic health condition.  Also, in 2014, I went to the clinic for a pre-employment medical examination, and I have been to the clinic a few other times for other issues.  I realize that, on any given day, an urgent care clinic must respond to a wide array of problems and patients, and so, in the past, I was reluctant to give the clinic a negative review in response to problems experienced during a single visit.  But, after two years, I have observed a pattern of problems and poor service from this clinic as a primary care provider.  I have only seen a doctor on one occasion at this clinic.  On most visits, I have been treated by either a nurse or a physicians? assistant (PA).  Because it is a large clinic I rarely see the same nurse or PA twice.  The clinic is large and, on several occasions, nobody followed up to inform me about lab results.  On a few occasions, when I called the clinic for lab results, a technician (or whoever answered the phone in the lab) asked my name and birth date, and then replied that ?everything was normal.?  However, on two of these occasions, I later discovered that the labwork had showed issues that needed to be addressed.  Also, on one occasion, a PA ordered the wrong lab tests.   I only discovered this error when I received the bill from the lab.  I have also experienced billing problems with this clinic.  On one occasion, I was charged twice for the same service.  When I went to the billing department with documents showing that I had already paid for the visit, one of the accountants proposed a ?compromise? in which I would only pay half of the erroneous second bill.  Finally, after being stonewalled by the accounting department, I paid a portion of the erroneous bill, just to resolve the matter quickly.  Urgent Medical and Family Care is administered by the Cone Health, a large non-profit organization that owns the two hospitals in Greensboro.  I regret writing anything negative about Cone Health since the organization has done so much good for the community over the years.  But, in my experience, Urgent Medical and Family Care clinic combines the impersonal service and propensity for error of a large hospital system, with the limited services and low doctor-to-patient ratio of an understaffed urgent care clinic:  it is essentially the worst of both worlds as far as primary healthcare is concerned.  I finally decided to take my chances with another one of the urgent care clinics in Greensboro.

  • She was prompt at returning call; however, I felt she talked over me, didn't really listen to what I was asking or saying.  I did not pursue doing business with her as I did not feel like there would be good communication.

  • It is one of the few walk in clinics in town and they are bombarded by patients. It is hard to judge a walk in clinic. They get us back as fast as they can but again it is a walk in clinic so it is very busy.

  • They have been my healthcare insurance company for the last three years or so. I haven't had any problems with coverage. They have a pretty good selection of doctors. I've even had to use them in an emergency situation in Florida while traveling and all was covered.

  • Prefer United Health Care, but due to change of jobs had to go with Aetna. Not bad, but current employer not as generous with benefit choices -- very pricey compared to experience with UHC.  That said, all claims paid without problem.

  • As a corporation with a single employee, BCBS is a great choice (other insurance companies won't insure with only one employee). I have great coverage and while it's not the cheapest, it is worth it. There are lots of options too so that you can find the best plan for your budget. The plan I am on has extensive coverage and I have never had a problem with their billing or insurance payments to physicials/pharmacy. They cover a lot of preventative visits too.

  • David and his wife Annette (who is usually my point of contact for regular and administrative questions) are great.  They are extremely responsive, professional and helped me find the best BCBS rates.  They are good with communicating information, answering questions, following up and being proactive when it comes time to renew policies.  They researched and provided me with several options.   While I put 10/1/12 as the date of service I have actually used them since 2009.
I highly recommend them to help you find quality, affordable health insurance.

  • Overall, the services are good considering that my monthly payment is minimal as I am a state retiree. I was disappointed, however, when I began having to pay anything for the 80%/20% plan as previously the service was free for employees/retirees. The benefits range from decent to fair. I recently had foot surgery. Insurance paid 80% as I had already met my deductible. Physical therapy, however, was expensive ($52 per session) whereas others in line were paying $10 or $20.

  • The doctors, nurses, and staff have always been simply amazing and accommodating. We use Lake Jeanette Urgent Care/Diamond Family Practice as our source of primary health care and will continue to do so.
Example: We recently had to take our daughter, age four, in to have blood drawn. She is terrified of needles and begins screaming hysterically at the first sight of one. The nurse/tech went ahead and had everything laid out and was wonderfully prepared. When I took my daughter back to the room where they draw blood, the nurse had it all done and band-aid in place in no time. I was so thankful that she was so efficient and quick. We left with minimal tears.
Appointments are really necessary because this is an urgent care; I can only think of once that I had to come as a walk-in and waited less than an hour. The staff is always busy. Side note: mornings are usually less busy than afternoons.
My only complaint: I'm not too impressed by their referral coordinator or by their billing department. We just last week received a bill from our daughters' visit in May and it took us months to get a referral for one of our children to see a specialist.
