    Guilford Eye Center
I have been a patient of Guilford Eye Center for several years. While I have been happy with the optometric service I have received, I always leave the office feeling abused. Everyone except the women at the front desk are mean. They have almost always been pleasant to deal with, Everyone else acts mean and treats me meanly. They act as if it is a burden to serve me. Every time I go I leave felling dirty. If I ask a question I am treated like this is really just beyond their normal duties to try and answer this question. When I sit down with the doctor, he spends as much time trying to sell me supplements as he does talking about my eyes. I have finally had enough and am in the market for a new optometrist.

    Oman Eye Care
I have been going to this eye doctor for about 6 years for annual eye examinations following PRK laser eye surgery. I do like Dr. Oman, but there have been at least 2 times I have had to wait almost an hour to be seen (with none of the office staff informing me of the wait or reason for the wait).

Fox Eye Care Group - Greensboro
Professional, kind, understanding, yet thorough staff and doctor. As a "walk-in", I waited 6 minutes before being called. During the "hot air balloon" test, my eyes were extremely irritated from my current (Biofinity), at the time, contacts. They were patient doing everything possible to make my eyes less irritated; resulting in me finally completing the test. The doctor listened to me and my concerns about the current brand (Biofinity) of contacts I was wearing. I requested to go back to Acuvue - used for at least 10 years - and I asked about daily wear. He educated me about the difference between daily wear and two-week contacts and WE made the best decision TOGETHER. I left Fox Eye Care Group feeling AND seeing much better.

    Richardson Eye Center
My husband and I have seen Dr. Richardson for many years, and highly recommend him and his staff.  He is thorough, unhurried, and interested in helping his patients understand our eyes.  We discuss how they work (and don't), diagnostic procedures, options, medication effects -- anything we want to know.
He came in immediately on a Sunday when I called him, in pain.  (He also made the pain go away, which the emergency room doctor didn't.)
We don't worry about whether to see an ophthalmologist instead of an optometrist, because he has given us referrals on the two occasions when there was a reason to do so.
I wish all my medical folks were more like him!

    Mcfarland, Dr. Howard M.
Arrived and completed paperwork (first time there).  Staff had contacted me that there had been a cancellation as I had called earlier to see about getting an appointment.  History was taken.  Exam was done.  I also opted for the eye photos.  Dr. McFarland explained all the results well, more thoroughly than any previous provider.

    Groat, Dr. Robert L
Waited 30 min before being called in. Dr was very thorough and discussed everything he found. He is mild mannered and very kind. Technician was chewing gum while doing visual tests for glasses. I find this crude, but it is happening more and more with nurses and receptionists.

    Hecker, Dr. Kathryn J
I hate this doctor and am very surprised to read the glowing reviews. She has the personality of a doorknob. She refused to look at my mother or I in the eye and when we had questions, she would direct her assistant to answer us! A year after cataract surgery, my mother has to have corrective surgery. The waiting rooms are crowded and appointments run late because this practice is just a mill churning out cataract procedures.

    Shapiro Eye Care Pa
I had lasik performed with Shapiro. I would consider it one of my life's biggest mistakes. The procedure don't give me 20/20 vision and mistakenly went back for what he called an "enhancement" which a nice way of saying "we screwed up and want to repair the damage." The multiple procedures created an astigmatism in one eye which had to be fixed by a doctor at Duke. Today, my eyes are still nearsighted and the wear and tear of the procedures ( I believe ) caused retina tears in one of my eyes. The staff was awesome, but I felt Dr. Shapiro saw his patients as a number.

    Bond, Dr. Brent J
He is excellent. I have been seeing him since '09. he did my mother-in-law. He did the surgery on her. He is very good with aging people. He's got an excellent reputation nationally. His education is good. He is just a good doctor. He is very confident.

Triad Retina and Diabetic Eye Center
He's done a number of surgeries and so far, so good. I believe he's done a good job. He does a good job with it. He might not tell me as much as I want to know. The staff is very efficient and friendly.
