What a wonderful experience! Provider name locked. came to our home, listened to what I wanted done, made his observations and suggested a new vent on roof to be installed. Initially, all I wanted was a new roof vent. The existing vent was not a proper dryer vent but was a bathroom vent installed when the house was built in 1992. Provider name locked. suggested that a new vent be installed with a better routing of the vent tubing. I agreed. He went straight to work. Removed the old tubing and left the old vent in place which now acts as a vent for the attic. He quickly drilled the appropriate sized hole in the roof, installed an appropriate dryer vent and routed new tubing. Once that work was complete, he came into the house, cleaned the tubing in the wall and cleaned the dryer and lint filter and reconnected the dryer vent with new hose. Then he spent time giving me some excellent advise and instruction on how to maintain the dryer for better performance. All of this in the space of 2 hours and 15 minutes and at a price that just didn't seem like enough for all the work he did. Top all of this off with the fact that Provider name locked. is very personable and is the kind of "old school" contractor that takes pride in the work he does. I will have him back in my home when it's time for a dryer vent cleaning.

Provider name locked. is the dryer vent man. He has been doing this work for many years. We had the aluminum foil stretchy material going thru the wall and it was not to code. He installed a venting system using metal pipe that was shorter and a more direct path. He had to drill and cut through 13" of solid cement foundation wall to vent outside to a new and better location. Also, the dryer is directly against the wall now - the vent coming out of the dryer lines up with the vent pipe in the wall. He showed me how to clean the inside of the dryer beneath the lint catcher. He also gave us a new lint catcher and gave us a brush to clean out the dryer. He also showed us how to clean the mesh on the lint catcher which can get clogged up if you use dryer sheets. Provider name locked. is all about education. He showed us some pictures of dryers that had caught on fire due to lint build up and showed us a news report of the number of houses each year that catch on fire because of poor ventilation on their dryers. Poor ventilation makes the dryer get hot, and can make any trapped lint Provider name locked. and eventually catch on fire. For many years, I had the lint going into a box of water because our venting system was clogged. I always had lint and pet hair all over the washer and dryer. I thought it was going be much more money and time to get a new one put in. Venting system needs to be cleaned out every two years for safety. We will be having Provider name locked. back. I called Provider name locked. on Saturday afternoon. He came over Sunday morning and took care it right away. It took him about 3.5 hours. We are having him back to flush out our hot water heater also.

I purchased the Angies List Big Deal. They scheduled and performed the service. The guy called me and said that all smoke alarms have to be replaced and that they can do it for a price. I declined it. Later, I received an email with an invoice for $24.95 for 3rd Story Dryer Vent Cleaning. I emailed them asking what this was since I never authorized this service. I even called them. No response. Fearing that they may send it to collections, I went ahead and paid it. So much for a Angies List Big Deal, this was a rip off.
