Snow Removal reviews in Grand Rapids

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I do not recommend Egypt Creek. They did not provide all services paid for and the services that were provided were of poor quality and not timely. When I tried to communicate this to the company, the owner responded insisting that I was wrong and patronizingly apologizing for the occurrences of nature. Bad company, horrible customer service.

  • Would not go with Alfresco for snow plow service. Last season they scraped up my driveway something terrible. I took several pictures and sent them to them. They never replied. Additionally, they would plow my drive after the first two inches of snow fell, while several additional inches would fall after they plowed. Also, they never came and cleared the end of my drive after the city plow came by. I called to discuss these issues, and was met with attitude.

  • As a follow up to my previous review, I would like to state that Alfresco did perform a good job the first year of my residential snow removal service. That is why I hired them for a second year. The first year they came out with their own truck that had very good snow removal equipment, and would come after most of the snow fell. I had no scrapes or damage to my driveway that year, and had no complaints. However, the second year they would come early in the route before much snow fell. Due to the timing of the route they must have come back to clear the end of my drive before the street plow came. I know this since I had to clear the end of my drive myself after I got home from work. I understand that this can be difficult to time correctly. Additionally, the second year they may have subcontracted plow drivers, because the truck that scraped my driveway was not the same Alfresco truck. It was a small pick-up truck that obviously did not have rubber on the bottom of its plow blade since you can see clearly from my pictures that it was FLAT sections of my drive that received most of the damage. I hope that Alfresco accepts this feedback and makes corrections to their service. From a customer satisfaction perspective it is relatively meaningless that they "performed service to contract" when they did not provide the customer service that they claim to take so seriously.

  • The service with Mr. Mow is far exceeding my hopes, for they not only do a bang up job with the lawn service, snow removal and miscellaneous services, but they are proactive towards those things that if left unattended, could create far more issues. II cannot be more satisfied with their service and would recommend them to anyone, who may need their help

  • Very well. They arrived when expected and employees are efficient and the quality of their work is excellent. Fall yard clean up included 5 visits (3 in October and 2 in November) and included mowing and leaf blowing for $425. Winter snow plowing covers 25 visits from December thru March for $200.

  • Not as well as I had hoped but acceptable. They use a pickup truck for the sidewalk which does create some problems for the lawn as the blade on the truck is wider than the sidewalk. Also, the truck was leaving a pile of snow in the neighbors driveway which prompted a complaint but that was corrected promptly. The person doing the driveway has been excellent and very helpful with a couple of our requests.

  • Terrible. Our driveway is about 100 feet long. It's a single car width. Our garage is a 2 car garage. The problems we had when the snow plow truck came out, he pulled in, stopped at the front of the garage, and backed out. He plowed it in a way where the left side of the 2 car garage was blocked, so we could not get our car out. Our side door leading out of the garage was also blocked. Additionally, all of the snow that was removed from the driveway was pushed onto the left and right side of our approach into the street. We wouldn't have been able to turn in and out of the street without great difficulty. We called to inform him of the situation, and he became very upset and aggressive, and yelled at my wife. We obviously ended up firing him. He said that there would be no refund. His mailing flyer said, "We accept full or partial payments, which are contractual for the entire season, and are non-refundable." Bottom line is he's saying it's OK to perform substandard work, and not rectify an issue with a homeowner if something goes wrong, and then he keeps the money. He also thinks it's OK to be verbally abusive on the phone, and that is absolutely not OK.

  • They have been very good about communicating with me on when they will be out and what they intend to do. They have done a good job of getting the snow out of the way and keeping the driveway clear. No complaints.

  • Other than the wet weather being a pain, Woods did an amazing job, and exceeded my expectations.  Ken was great to work with, and his team really shined. Very professional.  All his men wore uniforms, were neat and clean, and did great work.
