"The service was done on the day it was promised. I was not at home at the time. The large cracks were all filled and the driveway looked very good. I would recommend this company to others.

"Seal Coat was referred to us by another company when they couldn't give an estimate due to family issues and an over log of customers waiting for sealcoating." Their bit came in well under another company and they came out the same day as they called. We scheduled the work for two days later (although he was willing an able to do the work that same day!) He patched several cracks that were not in the original estimate without further charge and the work he did was exemplary. His crew were friendly, professional and I would not hesitate to refer him to others needing this service. Thanks Guys!

-Brian T.

If the state requires a contractor's license, then he needs to have a license in each state he intends to work in - plus state/local business licenses as applicable.

This does not mean there are not a lot of contractors who cross state lines without proper licensing - the penalties in may cases are not real severe and are just a fine, not criminal, so many take the chance.

As you say - argh  - many contractors are not really businessmen and have zero legal education, so many people get burned.

resurfaced our driveway right before an unexpected and very hard rain (and before the material applied could dry). They called us right after the rain to inquire how the driveway was doing. When we told them some of the material had washed away they immediately scheduled to come out the next day to fix it. The guys that did the work were polite and professional. They did a great job and we were so impressed by how responsive they were. We would recommend them to anyone and will use them in the future.

Overall, A1 did a very nice job. They found a drainage issue under the driveway and repaired it for a negotiated $100. I did have an issue with rain leaking into the garage. It took a few calls but A1 sent someone out and we agreed on a fix. The fix was successfully completed. I'm a satisfied customer and would use A1 again.

Wow, who would have know how difficult it is to get a concrete contractor to return a phone call? We were given a list of concrete contractors by the city. We began calling them because we needed more than one bid for review. A1 Asphalt was the ONLY company to actually answer the phone, promptly return the call, promptly arrive to review the work, and actually submit a bid. All calls were returned quickly and even during the very busy summer were willing to do repeat visits until we had made a decision. I learned later than many companies will blow a call off if they think it isn't "big enough." Apparently when I left various messages with ten or so other companies they must have thought our church just had a few cracks, not a big job, so didn't bother to at call back and say they weren't interested.

Companies actually showed up, but never called back or submitted a bid, just utterly blew us off. I am delighted with the service from A1 Asphalt.

Only issue I have is not filling in along edges with stone or other material...have a drop off. Also estimate was lower than actual cost....used more gravel for new bed than originally told.

Well done. They were careful of the adjacent landscaping, provided a professional appearance, and cleaned up thoroughly. We were pleased with their work.
