    Movement Mortgage
It went splendidly. Michael Kilpatrick and his team at Movement Mortgage were informative, helpful and cheerful. Every question and/or concern I had about the loan process was answered fully and in a timely manner. As a first time home buyer, my experience was made so much easier and delightful as a result of the services provided by Michael and his team. Thanks to Movement Mortgage, I was able to acquire a beautiful home that my family and I love making our own.

She is on point and very professional. The best part is she really cares and does what is best for her customers and it's about them and not just another number. Everyone I have sent to her thanks me because she is really great.

    Highlands Residential Mortgage/Scott Drescher
Scott and his team were so helpful and informative during my first home buying experience. Not only was it a cross-country move, but I changed employers, and I was applying for a VA loan. A more complicated situation was no sweat for them and they educated me every step of the way. I had worked with USAA previously on a home loan that fell through due to a low appraisal, but I knew after that experience, I would never use them again. I couldn't reach my agent at USAA when needed, I always had to leave a message and wait for a call back. I had to apply for my Certificate of Eligibility (COE) myself, whereas Patty at Highlands took care of it for me. And USAA didn't give me attention like Scott's team. I just felt like another caller, papers to push around. Each time I spoke with Scott, I felt he was working in my best interests. He put me in touch with a fantastic Realtor and discussed different suburbs where I should start my search. After we talked about how much I wanted my monthly mortgage to be, he suggested a spot-on price range, and he would quickly run numbers for me if I found a house I was interested in. He watched interest rates and told me the best time to lock mine down. It was easy to put my trust in him because he always took the time to explain why and how everything worked. Once we put in an offer, the process moved quickly, we talked often and they kept me informed of everything happening. I would definitely use Highlands Residential Mortgage again and would recommend them to anyone who values care and attention, and close involvement with the process.

    Alex Varela - PrimeLending
I'm writing this review in hopes of helping others through the home buying process. My suggestion is to skip this lender at all costs, for reasons including unethical business practices, and when things don't go as he planned, the Branch Manager got vengeful with us. We felt threatened, and at his mercy.  We were terrified to do anything against his guidance for fear of not getting our home. He left us without options.  But rather than fill his pockets, I chose not to give him our business, even at the risk of losing the home all together. We had a horrible experience, andwant to make sure you do not have the same.
Ultimately, we took our business elsewhere because of Varela Group/Prime Lending's inability to get the loan done and the unethical business practices.
    The Good
    Response time for initial contact
Our initial loan officer truly care
    Knowlegable on loans/requirements
    The Bad
Unethical business practices, including threatening and bullying of buyers
    Interest rates higher/not competitive
Lack of urgency, slow to return calls
Branch Manager doesn't care about the people, he only cares about the numbers
Branch Manager is focused on finding the right loan for business benefit vs. buyer benefit

I found Andrew years ago when I was thinking about buying a home, through He and I initially spoke back in 2009, but for various and sundry reasons, my husband and I held off on actually purchasing a home until May of 2014. Through the process though, off and on I would have questions that I wanted advice on, so I called Andrew and he very eagerly helped me, and never pressured me into buying; more often than not, he encouraged me to take my time and to be cautious when I didn't feel like things were right.
Well, in May of 2014, things were right, and they we right very fast. My husband and I started looking at homes on a Monday of one week, and had an offer out on a house by that Friday. To say we were in a tornado of things, would be an understatement. I immediately called Andrew, and he got the ball rolling. He always told me what he needed, helped me anticipate future needs so that I could be ready when asked, and never ever let the ball drop on his end. We closed exactly one month to the day from when we put the offer in, and Andrew had to jump through a number of hoops on the back end because of my husband's company's reporting for income, but he never led us to believe that closing wasn't an option.
Andrew was incredibly kind, patient and beyond helpful through our process. He literally answered calls at his desk some mornings at 7:45am, and then again in the same day at 7pm. He knows his business, and definitely puts in the hours to keep it going. I would recommend him to anyone and would definitely call on him again if we needed to move from our new home.

Bill did a great job finding us the best interest rates in the market and was able to keep our closing cost to a minimum. We certainly would recommend him to others for their financing needs. Our next purchase will certainly be made with the assistance of Bill Lindbloom at VIP Mortgage. Responsible, Friendly, Very easy to work with.

Leaman Team Powered By New American Funding
I had been shopping around for a lender to help me refinance my 10 properties. It was challenging to find someone whol could do all 10. I ended up refinancing two with cash outs with a lender I had used many times in the past but who is not that nice to me. Then I found the Leaman team AND Jori. I have had a lot of experience in this area and this company is top notch. Even my title company said that the Austin Group, meaning the Max Leaman team, "had it all together." Even though I was in Fort Worth, as are my properties, they worked with my favorite title company and got the job done.
This is what I like about Jori:
She did what she said she would do.
She returned calls very promptly, sometimes within minutes.
She was super nice, even when she found out I was refiancing two of my properties somewhere else.
Even when I needed to switch programs, she was still cool about it, and worked with me to make the best for me.
I know they are swamped, but when it was my turn, it was my turn, and I know that my file was a lot more complicated and time consuming than most yet she was very attendant to my issues and needs.
Billiie Ann, a co worker with Jori, was also especially prompt and courteous.
I felt like this company, through what I experienced through Jori and any other employee form the Leaman tam, was respectable, respectful, kind and courteous -- and got the job done.
I have had much experience with mortgage companies in the last 15 years and Jori, Billie Ann with the Leman team are the best -- by far.
I am now in the market to buy another home, for me to live in, and have already contacted Jori to assist in this purchase.
I actually found out about this group through Angie's list.

    First United Bank
The main person we worked with was Holina Hargret. They were really good. Holina, our mortgage consultant, actually came to be with us at the mortgage closing. She was always there to answer questions as far as what costs would be and things like that.

Leaman Team Powered By New American Funding
Where do I begin....Max Leaman is by far the king of his industry. My situation with my sister and brother in law was not a conventional one to say the least. My sister and brother in law lived in VA. He is Navy and they wanted to buy a house in Fort Worth. I had to be the eyes and ears here in TX. They started to go with Texas Lending and to put it mildly that turned out to be a nightmare. They were running out of time. So on a Sunday I started to do some research and I came across Max on Angie's List. I called him on a Sunday and left a message. He called me right back. I was shocked to say the least that he called me back so quickly on his own time. I explained to him the horror story I had with the previous loan officer and Max picked up the pieces flawlessly. Today my sister and brother in law are here and in their new home. It didn't matter that Max was in Austin, they in VA. and me in Fort Worth he worked on this loan as if we all were right there in Austin. I am in the industry myself so; I am not the easiest person to work with. I always give my best and I demand the best and that is what Max Leaman is, the best. I am sure he has hundreds of other loans but, every time I called or had a question he was right there. He treated me and my family like we were his only clients and to me that is pure talent. He is honest and never told us just what we wanted to hear. He puts not only his clients first but, his integrity as well. In this day and age that is hard to come by especially in a loan officer but, we definitely found that in Max. His staff is just as good. When it went to underwriting Janey was right there with us and walked us through the process. Janey is the sweetest most professional person (next to Max) I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I still today cannot wrap my head around how easy and smoothly the home buying process went with Max. He is number 1 in his industry for a reason. I will never go to another loan officer again with any real estate purchase. Thank you Max and thank you to your staff for providing the best service possible to my family, Max truly is the King of his industry.

    Crystal - The Mortgage Lady
Shortly after I put a house up for sale, a representative from Texas Plus Network called wanting to put a sign in the yard in hopes of securing the mortgage business from the eventual buyer. In exchange, they would feature the property on their website. Sure, why not?, couldn't hurt anything I thought. Boy, was I wrong! A potential buyer called and was quickly "pre-qualified" by Crystal the mortgage lady at Texas Plus Network or Texas Realty Plus, they all appear to be the same entity. I asked Crystal how long she thought it would take to close the deal. She said "I tell people 30 days but I can usually do it two weeks.". She neglected to say that she was planning to have surgery in the middle of the process. That was early September, now it is mid November. Most calls and emails are unanswered and unreturned. She is apparently an independent agent for Top Flite Financial, but not an employee so there is no one available to fill in when she doesn't show up.
