  • My wife & I found Pine Island Dental on Angie's list 5 years ago when we moved to Broward & I needed 2 implants. My wife also has (unfortunately) needed a lot of dental work. Without detailing everything, let us say that everything has been beyond perfect --- but it's not only the quality of Dr. Zurfluh's work, it's also his patience in explaining what needs to be done now or later and any alternatives we can consider. He is a very gentle perfectionist and makes sure there is minimal discomfort. Everyone there at Pine Island Dental is very courteous and friendly and we feel like part of the family. They deserve a rating above and beyond A+ in every respect.

  • He left with his teeth partially cleaned, the filling still missing and an $11,000+ treatment plan. He had to request antibiotics to kill the infection in the tooth missing the filling, as they didn't provide it with his bill like every dentist I've even been to did. Despite this, and to my dismay, he bought into their sales tactics, trusted their recommended treatment plan and returned for "session 2" of his treatment plan, a root canal NOT on the tooth that was hurting, with the intention of putting a crown on it (I learned this as we were waiting.....huh?) He has had a root canal previously, and has never experienced the level of pain he had from this one...BECAUSE X RAYS SHOW NOW THAT TOOTH IS FRACTURED . After searching to find a new dentist that could see him immediately, new X-rays show that the tooth will not support a crown at all now, and should have been extracted as the bone loss and interior decay give nowhere to support a crown or place a pin for an implant. She should have never tried to "save the tooth." He was already getting a bridge as part of his treatment plan, so the only reason NOT to extract and include it as part of the bridge would be to price gouge and provide an unneeded but costly root canal!! AFTER the root canal, they added another $200 for "prep" to the bill which was displayed as an entirely different "session" line on his treatment plan. ***??? Stay away from this place. Seriously. They are far better at marketing then actual dentistry.

  • I was very unhappy with this Dentist. His office repeatedly requested that I write a review so, here it is; be careful what you ask for. First off, I had to play the baby game they called "family" which wasted 2 hours of my time. Next the dental assistant, her name tag said "Ninja", part of the baby game, took x-rays and then gave me her diagnosis which was incorrect. Finally, the dentist came in and said I need a root canal and a crown or an extraction. I specifically asked if a filling would work and he emphatically said NO and that if we went that route I will end up in excruciating pain. The final blow was that they refused to charge me my insurance contract rate. I got a second opinion and was told all I needed was a filling. So, instead of going through painful, unpleasant, time consuming procedures, all I needed was a simple and basic filling. It is now months later and I have NO pain. My recommendation is, if at all possible, get a second opinion. Also, do not rely of other review websites since many posts are not actual patients.

  • Dr Gottardi and his assistant, Mary, are an outstanding team. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Everything was clearly explained in the process. I highly recommend Dr Gottardi. They even accommodated the 3 appointment schedule around my travel plans.

  • I have been going to Dr. Heidi Finkelstein for about 3 or 4 years, and I am very satisfied each visit. They are always ready to see me at my exact appointment time, the whole staff is very polite and informative, and all of the services I have had done in the past were performed exceptionally well.

  • WHOSE NEEDS ARE BEING MET? SHOULD THE PATIENT HAVE SOMEREASONABLE CHOICE OVER WHAT’S DONE TO HIS/HER BODY? NOT SO AT SOME DENTISTS’OFFICES, WHERE THEY APPARENTLY PUT THEIR OWN INTERESTS ($$) AHEAD OF YOURACTUAL DENTAL NEEDS. I recently had a new-patient appointment with dentist CotyRappacciolli, DMD in Sunrise, FL. I’d previously stopped into the office, spokenwith the receptionist, and also emailed my most recent xrays: BWs from a yearago, and FMX (full mouth xrays) from 2 years ago. As a very diligent dental patient, with excellent home care, no problems, and very regular professional care, I scheduledfor a new-patient exam with the doctor plus a routine 6-month prophy(cleaning). I should have been more wary, when I asked the receptionist howoften the doctor routinely takes xrays, and she said “whatever your insurancewill cover.” (Hmmm… consistent withthat thinking, since “insurance will cover” crowns & root canals, DOES THISDOCTOR ALSO PUSH CROWNS & ROOT CANALS, WHETHER OR NOT THE PATIENT NEEDSTHEM TOO?) NOTE: the ADA does NOT make specific interval recommendationsfor repeating xrays, but instead suggests decision be made INDIVIDUALLY APPROPRIATE TO THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THAT PATIENT.The norm for retaking of FMX is about 5years, but Dr. Rappacciolli was PUSHING them @ 2 years – without ever having seen the patient’smouth – and against the patient’s expressed wishes. I compromised, - at thefront desk, with the doctor directly, - to getting 4 new BWs only + exam +prophy. Then twice this doctor prepared a “treatment plan” for me to sign(STILL having not examined me in herdental chair at all), ADDING INAPPROPRIATE, UNNEEDED & UNWANTED SERVICES toa bill I was expected to sign off on (BEFOREBEING SEEN by any dental professional.) Apparently “forgetting” about our agreement, she added apanorex (very limited diagnostic value, and per ADA code NOT to be used as asubstitute for FMX, - which weren’t needed at this time anyway). She also addedmore PAs, and used another inappropriate coding for “limited eval” (ADA code = “problemfocused”, - BUT there was NO dental problem.) THE CLEAR PROBLEM WAS REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO MANIPULATE CODES & REPEATEDATTEMPTS TO FORCE UNWANTED & UNNEEDED SERVICES (DESPITE OUR DIRECT, FACE-TO-FACE AGREEMENT OF JUST MINUTES AGO), - HAVING NEVER EVEN SEEN THE PATIENT’S DENTALCONDITION AT ALL. BEWARE: it’s not YOUR interests that are in the forefronthere. When the doctor realized that she’d failed in her 2nd attemptto FORCE MORE SERVICES ($$) ON ME, AGAIN,despite our in-person agreement of minutes earlier, she had the receptionist comeout to tell me she wouldn’t see me at all, totally wasting my time. BEWARE.

  • I've been to several dentists in the course of 50 years, but by far, Dr. Voltapetti is the absolute best! Great professionalism and experience where things are done right on the first time, with lasting results. The personal in his office, including himself, are everything you hoped for, experienced, kind, friendly, understanding and attentive. And the dental practice prices are very reasonable too! Now, how can you go wrong?

  • Dr. Voltapetti has an excellent, professional manner and his procedures are pain free. HIs staff is always pleasant and easy to work with. They go out of their way to make sure my dental appointments are scheduled and the office waiting time is minimal. It is a pleasure to sit in his dental chair.
