FUnique WoodworxIt went horribly. Mason came out after I went onto your site and at first of course--he was very professional. He told me that the job would was $750 and he needed $300 for supplies. I told him that was a bit high--so he dropped the price to $500. I am a disabled Army Veteran so my son handles my money. My son is 22-years old. I told my son I needed $300 for Mason to purchase the supplies and he gave it to me. I told Mason that since I am disabled I receive a 10% discount at Home Depot, Lowes and Menards and I could go with to save extra money. He told me there was no need because he receives a contractor discount and his brother is a veteran and he gets an additional discount as well which adds to even more money saved than what I could get. I said okay. (This all took place on November 13, 2019.) I called Mason to see what materials he had purchased. He told me that he purchased 35 iron railings. I asked him to send me a picture to make sure those were the one's I wanted--he never did. I never heard back from Mason. I asked Mason if he had changed his mind and no longer wanted to do the job, please return my money, because I needed it. He never responded. Well on November 19, my son's TV was being delivered, but I knew that since the stairs were not safe--it couldn't go upstairs. Mason, promised me that Sunday, November 17, he would come out early in the morning before he went to Church?? to repair the stairs, but he did not. I called Mason at least 5-6 times where I could hear loud music playing and people drinking and partying to see what time he had planned on stopping by to stablize the stairs? He answered the telephone in a nasty tone as if I was bothering him because I heard people talking/laughing loud, ordering drinks, and music playing in the background as if he was at some kind of party. I am assuming that once he was finished with the festivities, he stopped by my house between 11:00--11:30 pm to stablize the stairs. He's the worse contractor I ever dealt with thus far in my life. How could someone take advantage of a poor, old and helpless disabled Army Veteran who proudly served her country? Only a monster. I hope and pray that he never swindles anyone else out of their hard earned money. Don't ever trust this company---especially Mason!- Lauraf R.

FUnique WoodworxThe saga continues...Mason finally responded and promised me that he would sand/stain my stairs yesterday which was Saturday, November 30, 2019. I was so happy. I called Mason the night before to see what time to expect him and he told me...."I am not giving you a time so you could hold me to it"? I said, okay, I'll be at home waiting. I was so scared to leave the house because I did not want to miss him so I stayed at home all day--No Mason. (My son wasn't available because he had made other arrangements that day.) I waited until 10:00 pm and to start calling Mason. My calls are blocked and went right to his voice mail which is full perhaps from other unhappy customers. I will NOT stop believing the good in people because of what Mason did to me. A part of me really feels sorry for him because nothing good will come his way or anyone associated with him, because Karma is a B!- Lauraf R.

ASPECIALTY KITCHEN AND BATH REMODELINGEverything was done quickly and professionally. Howard was always in touch and/or easy to get in touch with. He was on site a few times checking to make sure everything was going good and/or answer any questions. Bob was on site everyday and easy to talk to and he got things done. Anytime a question came up he gave an easy to understand and clear explanation. Anytime something didn't seem right or it seemed as they might of missed something he took care of it right away. No problems. Jeanette took care of all the painting and did a great job. She was always easy to understand and clear explanations. She explained exactly what she was painting and how she was doing it. She contacted me the day after it was done to say there was an area she wasn't happy with and would be back to redo it. She was right back and took care of it. No problems. The price of the project seemed a bit high, but the work was very good. Howard gave us his contacts for cabinets, tile and granite. The tile and granite contacts were easy to work with and very clear on what the pricing would be.- WALT B.

AJen Czach Construction LLCJen is a joy to work with as well as an incredibly talented professional. With almost 20 years of experience being in business for herself, she has the process down to a science but at the same time treats you and your concerns and your project like its completely unique and understands that for you, this is probably all brand new. With all that experience, she also has amassed a competent team of subcontractors who are reliable and top-notch. She seems not only to know everyone in the industry, but is highly respected by them as well. One thing I found most helpful was that she was willing to talk with me and work with me on design issues and questions I had. Maybe this. What about this. Maybe that. She was a wonderful resource in that regard. On the one hand, she is there to do what you want done and make the space right for you, but on the other hand, shell gently push you toward or away from something she thinksbased on her vast experienceyoull be happier with or will work better. For example, I wanted an all-wood countertop in my kitchen. She gave me some pros and cons and showed me all my options on an afternoon shopping trip and then got to work figuring out the best way to do a wooden countertop. After her own research and talking to a few people in the industry who work with wood, she came back to me and told me her reservations and why she didnt think itd make the best choice. So I looked into other options again. I ended up choosing quartzite for the main counters, but she made me a custom wooden top for the island. It was a perfect solution. I couldnt be happier with my quartzite countertops and I love my wooden island top. She said the project would take 6 weeks and it took 6 weeks. BUT she doesnt cut corners on anything. She is detail oriented and will make sure even the smallest aspects of the job are done right. She also is excellent at communication. She responded to every email or text or call I sent within 24 hours, often much sooner. She also stopped the subcontractors from swearing when my daughter was in the house, took her shoes off every time she came in, made sure my dogs didnt get out of the backyard, AND dealt with my mother. Seriously. Jen is the best. I sorta want to remodel every room in my house now, even though we cant afford it, just so I can have her back. Shes warm, funny, intelligent, humble, kind, and respectful. I felt completely comfortable having her in my small home any time of the day or night. And she never once made me feel stupid for not knowing anything about anything related to home construction or kitchen remodel. I am beyond happy with the finished product. (We had a wall torn down separating a kitchen and dining room in an old 1925 home in Ferndale and created one big space, replacing everything.) Its better than I could have imagined and I feel confident saying that I wouldnt be nearly this happy if someone else had done it for me. Thank you, Jen. Worth every penny.- Brianna Z.

FKulla Construction IncPlumb Kulla was contracted to preform rehab work on our home on November 2, 2017. The project was contracted to be complete on May 2, 2019. Contract cost was $140,000. He was paid $120,000 by March of 2018. The job is not completed to date (August 31, 2018). He has walked of the job leaving the project unfinished. He has taken our money and has left incomplete full kitchen, 2 full baths, siding, deck work, HVAC, water heater, plumbing among several other items. His work is below standards. This person has lied and made numerous false promises as to completion date of project and where our money has been spent. He refuses to provide documentation of the finances of the job which is required to provide under Michigan law upon request of the owner of the project. We have begun litigation against Kulla Construction. I have all documentation related to the false statements Kulla has made and photos of the substandard and incomplete work he has made.- Jeff M.

AMadera Building Company IncOur remodeling was done in a professional and courteous manner. From the beginning to the end of the job the workers were there every day (Mon - Fri) until it was completed to our satisfaction. They never left until all the work was done. The owner, Marty, stopped by every day to check on progress, do some of the work himself, and talk to us about how we felt it was going if we were happy with everything. He is meticulous and very skilled in the remodeling business. He gave us good ideas and suggestions on ways to save money and also pointed out areas we needed to give more thought to as to how we wanted things to look. This was important because he was aware of things we hadn't thought of that affect the final outcome . The results are beautiful and we are completely satisfied. Although we are glad to have the construction over we will miss seeing Martin and Chris each day. They work for Marty and we grew fond of them. We highly recommend Madera Building Company!- Marc A.

ADinverno Remodeling & ConstructionFrank, Jay, and their team were amazing. Not only did they beat other contractors' estimates; they also had the job completed weeks before other local companies would have even started. Frank was supportive with design and financing decisions and responsive whenever we had a question or a scheduling concern. Our house looks 100% better now thanks to Dinverno Remodeling & Construction!- Daniel B.

ANorthern Star Contracting Services LLCOverall, we're very satisfied. They took the time to make sure everything was done right and that we were satisfied. With regard to each project: Repairing the broken joist in the basement turned out great. They ended up sistering a new joist to the old one. It was planned well and when it came time, the job went quickly. The quartz kitchen counter really turned out awesome. They did a great job with the kitchen flooring, including leveling the sub-floor. The can lights installed in the ceiling really brightened the kitchen. Were very pleased with how the kitchen back splash turned out. They made sure we had input in the detail of the tile placements and design.- Tim O.
