  • Jerome was exceptional in evaluating why I wanted to start lessons and took the time to find the perfect keyboard for me. The lessons are very balanced and Jerome brings something new and exciting to every lesson.

  • My son is a 13 year-old that was really losing interest in his piano training. His teacher of six years suggeste Jerome Gilmer for my son's continued training. It has been a wonderful experience. My son has a renewed interest in writing his music and furthering his theoretical training. Music literacy and fluency is important to him again. Jerome reignited that spark! I am eternally grateful.

  • My ten year old daughter has taken a few lessons from Jeff and she is picking up the ukulele with ease! Jeff is very good at breaking the information down so that it is accessible to a young learner. He has sent us practice pages and audiofiles to help with learning. She is even starting to learn to read music. He is both warm and funny and my introverted daughter feels very comfortable with him! I would highly recommend his skype lessons. I am amazed how quickly she is learning!

  • Ms. Burns is a consummate professional but with an open, caring and honest approach. She also has a delightful sense of humor that puts any student at ease. With her extensive pedagogical knowledge, she is able to skillfully use imagery, practical exercises and modeling to achieve results without burdening her students with vague technical language. Because she is a seasoned performer herself, Ms. Burns is able to provide a wealth of advice for aspiring singers. She is also a good pianist, a tool that comes in handy when required. Overall, I couldn't recommend her more highly!

  • Phil taught my pre-teen daughter to play guitar and he is a wonderfully gifted and creative instructor. I remembered learning piano as a child by playing super boring music that didn't interest me in the least, so imagine my surprise when Phil asked at her first lesson what some of her favorite songs were. By some genius creative process, he broke the songs down in a way that he taught her to play guitar through the music she loved! She had never played guitar before, Phil was her first teacher, and she was playing full songs within a matter of months. She progressed way faster than I ever thought possible and she loved going to lessons. Phil is the best! We moved to Denver a few years after they started their lessons and we went back every month for about a year, making the trek down I-25, just so she could continue to work with Phil. He's that good an instructor.

  • Phil is a great instructor! He not only taught me guitar but he also helped me record my own songs as I got older! He's very engaging and always made sure we were learning what I wanted to learn, not just scales and chords; he started showing me how to play some of my favorite songs on day one!

  • Very professional. He gave us excellent ideas beyond just vocal coaching for our performance. He worked with us on gospel and other types of music. He was very knowledgeable and we will definitely use him in the future.

  • Phil  taught my daughter for about 2 years, starting when she was 11.  He had her playing within a few weeks.  She always looked forward to going to Phil's for her lesson and she was excited to pick out songs ahead of time to take to her lesson.  As she got better, Phil even recorded some of her own songs and a few covers for her.  We moved to Denver and were sad to leave Phil but for a while, we drove back to Colorado Springs once a month to have a lesson.  We still go back on occasion because he's that good!  Phil has a way of teaching that gets kids learning quickly so it keeps them interested.  He also lets them choose what they want to play which also keeps them interested.  Also, Phil is a genuinely good person and all around nice guy.  We wish we lived closer to the Springs because we miss him.

  • Artur Stoyanov is the best teacher I have ever had for anything in my life.

Where do I begin? I have been taking classical piano from Artur for about five years. I have met many of his students, both children and adults, and they all think he's wonderful. Artur is a former concert pianist who immigrated to the U.S. from Russia in the 1970s. Just because a pianist is an excellent performer does not necessarily mean he is a good teacher. Fortunately, Artur is superb at both. His favorite students are those who have never placed their hands on a keyboard, as they've learned no bad habits; however, he is also excellent with those of us who have learned all kinds of bad habits.

One can learn any piano piece on many different levels. Artur understands at what level to teach me at any given time. He always senses when I am ready to go more in-depth on a particular piece of music.

He is not patronizing, so I always know that he is giving me an accurate assessment of how I am doing. At the same time, he is always gently pushing me to higher levels. He treats each of his students as though they are burgeoning maestros.

Whether you have a young child you want to introduce to the piano or you are an adult who wants to take lessons, you will be very pleased with Artur as a teacher.

Artur's studio is located in his home near the Happy Canyon Shopping Center.

  • Kristine is a very capable music lesson provider.  I think she would be best suited to teach very young children.  She could give a very high quality lesson except:  1) Severe disorganization, both professionally and with her accounting.  She will refuse payment by check and then accuse you weeks later of not giving her the correct amount of cash.  She sometimes provides her lesson plans on Post-it Notes.  Most times she provides no lesson plan.  2) The piano she provides lessons on is very out of tune and she says that she can not afford to have it tuned.  I feel that to provide a piano lesson, the ability to learn on a piano that has been properly cared for is essential.  Tuning is a necessary business expense.  3) She makes you sign a contract that says she will only give make-up lessons if you provide 24 hours notice.  She only provides the make-up lessons when she "feels like it".  I would say that taking the lessons was a nice way to
review and to Not regress in my abilities, prior to moving on to another teacher.  I was immediately unimpressed with the voice lessons.  She instructed me to go to a website where I could buy sheet music.  She would then play the music as I sang.  I feel that I wasn't given a lot of advice on my singing and most of the lesson was spent by Kristine trying to work through how to actually play the pieces on the piano.  I felt it was truly a disaster.  Regarding the piano, she told me that I was one of the most advanced students she had ever had and she had never taught beyond the basic books.......I'm in a 2nd level adult beginner book!  I'm not that advanced.  She also refused to teach me any theory because she believed that only advanced students should learn theory.
