We needed a new vent for our old glass block window.I was so thankful to have found Larry to help us with the job. He was responsive, easy to schedule and offered a fair price. Thanks, Larry!

It was a good experience Kris provided a schedule with his estimate and guaranteed his price to us upfront. The price was easy to read so that we understood exactly what we were being charged for vs the other estimates were just one price so we didn't know exactly what the price included. They ended up hitting expansive soil underneath the addition in the back that they took care of as part of their price without any interuption to the schedule. They ended up completing the work two days earlier than they told us and we didn't get charged one additional dollar even though the project hit a couple of unforseen snags.

He came in with the most reasonable quote and I was pausing up and he was judging whether to go with glass blocks or with acrylic blocks. We asked him to go with acrylic blocks because those were custom made dimensionally and if we went with glass blocks the dimensions of our windows we would have had to have two different sizes of blocks that was kind of mismatch. So we went in with this fellow and he came in with the best quote and he is schedule to put them in next week. It is terribly hard to get custom made dimensions but as acrylic blocks being molded and having some flexibility in terms of their mold fabrication they can make windows to fit any dimensions. We have kind of awkward dimension so we were very pleased and hope it comes out as good as we think it?s going to. He said he was certified with Service Magic. We also got quotes from Home Depot and Lowes too but we wanted to go with this individual provider as we thought that he was better. The owner?s name is Mark E Potter. He advertises himself as handymen, repair and maintenance services. He doesn?t advertise himself as an acrylic block installer. When he came to do the quote, he brought along three brochures that showed their product and that showed very good impression of it. So hopefully it turns out to be as good as how it shows and pictures. Update 12/20/2011 - I am totally satisified with the installation.  They did a good job and came back the next day to finish the paint job, as it was too cold the day that they cauked the window (so it was too cold to paint it).  I am very pleased with the whole experience, it went like clockwork.

Larry and Nick are the BEST!! They worked well with all other trades and have continued to be responsive to questions over the last 2 years. They were the only trade to complete their job on time during the construction of my new loft. They consistently return calls and arrive when they say they will.

Ken rocked! He was excellent, completely professional, punctual, efficient, and honest. He certainly is a jack of all trades. He performed all the work I mentioned above with the highest quality. He was always pleasant and positive, and kept me informed of progress and issues. He even gave me a follow-up call to tell me where I could find a product that he knew I was looking for. He exceeded our expectations and we hope to use him for any work of this type in the future.

glaLarry was thorough and professional. He was punctual for all appointments, even moving up the installation date by a week. He waited to involve a more capable assistant for my awkward project. He gave thoughtful advice but gave me the options. He seemed to really care that the project came out right, even returning to measure a second time so it turned out even more aesthetically pleasing. He cleaned up completely when he was finished. He was affable as well. I would certainly use him again He

Everything went very well.  My wife made the first contact with Larry from Glass Block Specialties.  He responded to our request for a bid in a timely manner.  He came to our home and looked at the job.  I have worked on job sites for years, as a plumber I am pretty good at spotting a phony.  It was clear Larry was a veteran in this special area and knew what he was doing.  We accepted his bid and scheduled the work, as one part of the larger bathroom renovation.  Timing was important, as the window upgrade work had to be done after demolition, but before beginning the tile work.  Larry arrived, as scheduled, and removed the vents with out harming the surrounding glass block and installed glass block that matched the original. His bid was reasonable and the work done in a professional manner.

Gorgeous work. Excellent contract; best we've ever worked with. Did what he said when he said he would, charged exactly what he estimated with the exception of things we added after the job was started. Can't say enough good things about Jason and his work.

Larry was great to work with from the beginning of the project until the end.  He was responsive when I originally contacted him and he came out right away to give me an estimate.  Once we decided on what was to be done, he did everything we agreed upon and the end result is fantastic!  I have an eye for symmetry and the mortar joints between the blocks are PERFECT!  They really did a great job.  The glass block walls let a lot of light into the back of my basement and I feel this was a terrific upgrade to our mid-century modern style home!
