  • It exceeded my expectation, and it is my absolute pleasure to recommend Dr. Wm. L. Dubnov as a counselor. Since seeing, Dr. Dubnov my life has improved in the following ways: more self-belief, self-love and more respect for myself and others. I have also experienced significant improvement in my work life, my relationships and even finances. My physical health has also improved dramatically. I no longer feel the necessity to take my Adderall or Xanax, I once deepened on to reduce my anxiety. I no longer tolerate toxic, destructive relationships in my life. I find myself being more empathetic and truly believing I can be whatever I want and all I have to do is try. In a word, I have learned how to become my own whole person, pursue my true-life calling, and in effect, how to act as my own counselor. These changes I have experienced in my life are enduring.

  • Dr Goldwater has helped me through difficult times with empathy, compassion and clear strategies for improving my situation.  I am incredibly grateful I ended up in her treatment.  She's both effective and warm.  While I do not need regular, on-going therapy any more, I still reach out to her whenever I've got a difficult situation or feelings about an event in my life.  I hope to continue with her for years to come.

  • Dr. Goldwater has provided me with suggestions on how to deal with my issues. She listens intently and  asks appropriate questions to help me recognize the source of what bothers me and how to deal with it. Her manner is always friendly and comforting. I really appreciate our sessions.

  • It is going very well. Dr. Goldwater listens to what is going on in my life. We discuss my problems and solutions to those problems that I can try. She is very positive and flexible. If one thing doesn't work she has other options. She is very well educated and gives great examples of how others have dealt with similar problems.

  • I have been a patient for different life experiences and he always took great personal care with good advice for outside support. Personable, smart and medication management that was always the right fit. I value this doctor as a lifelong resource for whatever happens.

  • I met with Dr. Goldwater after first going to another psychologist who acted like my problems were not interesting enough since there were not horrible things going on in my life. I needed someone to help me through specific issues. She listened, suggested books, we talked about them and their relationship to my issues. She led me to find the answers myself, was insightful. Always non-judgemental and thoughtful. Very pleasant personality. Would suggest her to anyone.
  • I have been going to Dr. Goldwater for over two years now (my entire time in Dallas). I have seen 3 different therapists for multiple years, and have met with almost a dozen for "get-to-know-you"-type interviews. Dr. Goldwater is the brightest, most empathetic, and most practical therapist I've ever worked with. But most importantly, she has range. We have covered topics from dealing with nervous compulsive behaviors, to professional political issues, to tactical day-to-day issues in disciplining my children, to deep-rooted issues like the emotional absence of my mother due to depression running on our family.
Our sessions would generally start open-ended where I would vaguely have 2-3 topics I wanted to discuss. They could be more reactive topics having to do with events through the week in which I had a really strong emotion. Or they could be more forward-thinking topics that helped answer the question, "What should I do differently to be a happy, productive person and pass that along to my children, husband, and community around me?" These sessions I always came away with specific "Monday Morning" to dos that could help me change the way I thought or behaved.
In a separate instance it became clear that she should see one of my children. During those sessions, she was extremely effective at establishing trust with my child and probing to understand the whys behind certain behaviors. Throughout my and my child's sessions, she effectively used dozens of tools--readings, books for me to read, diagnostic tests for me (e.g. Rorschach) and those close to me, IQ tests, and specific tactics for dealing with anxiety.
Dr. Goldwater also has been very conscientious about billing and insurance issues. I am on Aetna, which I strongly dislike but have no choice because they are my husband's health insurance provider. I used to be a BCBS member which was much better about mental health care reimbursement. Dr. Goldwater was persistent about getting Aetna to reimburse.
Dr. Goldwater is an exceptional psychologist. She is brilliant, a gem of a person, and I plan on continuing to work with her. I recommend her enthusiastically and without any reservation.

  • He's really honest and gets to the truth.  He doesn't sugar-coat anything.

He's spent a lot of time and effort putting together his own unique method, and he draws from a lot of major theories in psychology.

  • Dr. Goldwater is an extremely good psychologist. I had been to others in the past and it was so refreshing to find one that was highly intelligent, compassionate, and creative in her approach to my issues.

  • He has a wonderful manner to him, the way he carried himself, the way he handled himself.  He gave us things to do, how to talk to our daughter so things so on an even keel.  His office was decorated nice.  It’s just him in the office.  He had a buzzer on the door so he knew someone was waiting for him.  He really helped us a lot.
