    QUILT BEGINNINGS
I had my sewing machine cleaned and adjusted as part of standard maintenance at the Sawmill Road location of Quilt Beginnings. I discovered too late that their service people are not certified to work on Bernina sewing machines, which is what I brought for service. The service person seems to have broken the plastic outer case of the machine that covers the sewing arm when he removed it for for cleaning. So now, my expensive computerized sewing machine is literally falling apart, when it was completely in tact before I took it to that place. The person also failed to calibrate the machine properly for a buttonhole foot, one of the requests I had made when I brought it in. A problem with the internal thread cutter was also not addressed. When I called and spoke with the guy who did the service afterwards, to discuss that he had not completed the job, he was rude and behaved in what I consider a sexist manner toward me, talking down to me as though I was the the incompetent one. While he clearly did not know how to service this machine correctly, he told me that I didn't understand how to use my sewing machine, which is decidedly not the case. The person who accepted the machine when I initially brought it for service also did not display adequate knowledge about sewing machines. That in itself probably should have served as a warning sign of what was to come. I strongly recommend to others to not have this place touch your Bernina sewing machine. You very well may regret it like I do. Please note I have estimate the date since I have forgotten exactly when this occurred. Within the last year.

He was a true professional and knew all the Singer models, their strong points, and possible problems. He reconditioned it so it works like new. The belt was never replaced so I asked him to put on a new one He left it up to me.

I took my sewing machine in for service. The stitch selector knob had gotten nearly impossible to turn. I have a 30+ year old Viking, and Mike cautioned me that if it was broken, he would not be able to fix it because parts are no longer available for my machine. He took it apart and cleaned out the old grease which had hardened. He kept it longer than I wanted, but each time I called, he said he'd like to keep it a little longer because it wasn't working as smoothly as he'd like. I am quite happy with the results. My machine is working well since Mike cleaned and serviced it.

Great! Steve comes to your house.... on Saturday... same day as you called him! Prompt, professional and very knowledgeable. He had all the replacement parts with him and repaired my machine on the spot. I was working in a project at 12:30 when my machine broke ... I was back at the project by 3:00 ... doesn't get much better than that!

.  The sewing machine is in good working order since he repaired it and set things right.
I did comment to him that Angie's List said he was open Monday through Friday and I'd been there on a Wednesday and he was closed.  He said he'd asked Angie's List to change those hours, but they had not.  He is closed on Wednesday.  You may want to call before you go to make sure he's open.  He did great work and was punctual on his promise of completion date.  I was happy with the service.

First time I went there it took longer than I expected but in the end my very old machine worked better than it ever had! Second time the problem was so simple he fixed it for free while I waited! Be aware, website says they're open Mon-Sat but they're actually closed Weds as well as Sunday.

Steve was prompt and checked my machines.  He was very thorough.  I needed a rush job to finish a bridesmaids dress for my daughters wedding. and due to hitting a straight pin with the needle I threw the machine out of timing.  His service was great and he had his prices were very reasonable.  I will certainly use him in the future.

The owner/provider was great!  He came to the house, very friendly, thorough and professional.  It cost a bit more than I had planned but I was okay with it,   He also provided some free extra needles.

They are wonderful, professional and really great. It does not matter who I talk to there; they are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I have taken my machine in there with my projects and they always are willing to help; I am impressed with their service. Their machine prices are fair market value.
