    I paid their $160 yearly fee for furnace maintenance. They came and said a repair was required even though the furnace had been working fine for years. I paid about $200 for it. The second or third time I used the furnace after that it stopped working. They came back out and said a $500 repair was now needed. They claimed the failure had nothing to do with the work they had just done and refused to take any responsibility or give me a discount.

I have scheduled a appointment for the replacement of the furnace. The paid for the discounted service charge of $59.00 through Angie's List.

    I got a new furnace w/ humidifier, A/C, Nest thermostat, and Nest smoke/carbon monoxide detector. They did a great job with the installation, and took the time to set up the thermostat, sync'ed it to my phone, and went over how to operate it. Angie's coupon saved me some money too.

    Very pleasant young man. Quoted me $3,600 for a new part to residential furnace or new furnace about the same cost. Suggested replacing thermostat might get it to run bit while I conferred with my sister about his "options". New thermostat did not help. $300 plus for service call and thermostat. Said I would get $ back if I bought new furnace....second opinion came this morning.$160 to unfreeze condenser and re-route to avoid future problem...said I would not have needed a new thermostat. And oh by the way-IF it had been the "part" AB said that needed replaced would have been just $60 plus (minimal) labor. This is the second time ABs quote has been so far off my second (trusted) option. I will NEVER call Atlas Butler again! Make sure you get a second opinion! M Gill

    We've worked with Scott Hall Remodeling twice so far-- once back in 2010 to remodel two bathrooms at our old house, and again in 2018 to finish the basement at our current house. You get what you pay for. They are a group of reliable professionals who will provide you with an excellent end product. Our basement now is higher quality than our first and second floors in our opinion! Our house is a new build (built in 2016), and on hindsight we wish Scott Hall had built our entire house! They also stay mostly on schedule with their projects, which seems to be a rarity in the construction industry. Our basement's finished space they worked on is roughly 1600 square feet. We put luxury vinyl wood flooring down throughout the entire basement except in the workout room where we opted for rubber flooring. Scott Hall uses high quality materials such as wood trim (not MDF which our home builder used unfortunately for the trim upstairs), top quality paint (again better than our builder used even though we upgraded when building), etc. We contacted Scott Hall Remodeling around May '18. Developed the layout and signed in June. Purchased the cabinets in July and Scott Hall's crew started work in August. Work completed for the most part in November with some punch list items wrapping up in December. Joe Davis was our construction manager and we would highly recommend him. He's very respectful of the fact that he's working in a house that you need to continue to live in during the process. He listens to any concerns you may have and does his best to find a solution. Our egress window was drafty and I wasn't satisfied at first; Joe returned to find a solution and made sure I was 100% satisfied before he moved on (which I can say from experience, most contractors would've just walked away and said their job was done. Joe actually cares that you're happy with his work!) Our crew was great, if you are planning on doing a project with Scott Hall, be sure to ask for Bryn, Joe, and Andrew!

    All in all I've been pleased with the company and will continue to do business with them. We've had some repair work done and they installed a new air conditioner. They told me that in order for the warranty to be valid on my A/C I had to sign up for their annual service plan (around $160 I think?) to have the unit serviced and kept in working order. We had some significant challenges understanding this and then communicating to get the services done. However, they've probably been to my house 5 or 6 times and I've been pleased every time so I will continue to do business with them.

    We've been using Hetter Heating and Cooling for nearly 30 years. Their technicians know their stuff, and can solve every problem. I think the secret to Hetter's success is their employees. They are well-trained and they help each other learn from their experiences. Two of our favorite service techs are Lance and Chuck. They've been with Hetter for many years, and Hetter is wise enough to find, and KEEP such good employees. I wish all businesses had employees like Hetter's, and were smart enough to hang onto good people.

    Very professional, timely and efficient. Had them check my humidifier. He didnt have that particular filter on the truck. So we scheduled another time for him to come out and replace my filters at no extra charge. Very nice. Would recommend.

    G.M. Steele is an authorized service repair provider/manufacturers representative for the furnace I have installed in my home. They are an exclusive dealer listed on the manufacturers website. This coupled with their A rating on Angie's List made me contact them when my less than 4 month old furnace went out and was blowing cold air on 11/21/2018. I could not use the original installer because this was a home warranty claim, and the home warranty company requires the emergency service providers to be on Angie's List, with a B or better rating, and the original installer is not on Angie's list at all. Mr. Steele came out and diagnosed the problem as it being an air flow problem with my furnace. He advised me to use a thinner quality furnace filter and he cut an additional opening in my cold air return. He got the furnace up and running and left. I had to buy a grate to install over the opening he cut and install the new filter. On 12/24/2018 my furnace stopped operating at 3am. Same issue. I contacted Mr. Steele. He did not respond to my call in a timely fashion so I contacted another provider on Angie's List. They came out and diagnosed my problem as a gas over-pressure situation. Too much gas was flowing into my furnace and the gas safety valve sacrificed itself to prevent my furnace from catching fire/blowing up. This situation was present according to the 2nd technician when Mr. Steele was present and he failed to diagnose it. The switch was starting to fail then as a safety item. The 2nd company asked me if Mr. Steele used a gas pressure test device when I watched him test my furnace. It is a device with hoses, and I never saw him use such a device. I observed him the entire time he was in my home. His failure to do such potentially could have cost me a fire in my home, plus cost me no heat from December 24th thru December 26th, ruined my Christmas holidays, cancelled my family plans and I have the expense of using space heaters on my electric bill and the expense of 2 service calls to another HVAC company because they had to order the part over the Christmas holiday as the supplier was closed. I feel Mr. Steele's company should refund me the service call he was paid for work that was unnecessary and faulty. I also feel he should have his rating lowered and people should be very careful in hiring him in the future.
