Landscaping reviews in Cleveland

  • After interviewing several landscaping services, we decided to go with Calanni Landscaping. Sam Calanni is very knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. During the planning phase, Sam always explained the trees, plants, and shrubs that would be installed and any information if they were appropriate for our yard. He was always very prompt to any inquiries we had. Sam hand picked beautiful mature sized plants for our yard. His team is also very professional, courteous, and like Sam, takes pride in their work. They installed a paver patio and beds with trees, shrubs, and plants for us. Everything turned out beautiful. We have received many compliments on how our landscaping looks. Sam is also great to work with. Besides his great sense of humor, he is willing to go above and beyond to make his customers happy. We decided after Sam completed our job, that we wanted a spruce moved to another location. Not only did he move the spruce, but he would not accept any additional compensation. Sam will also be installing our lawn soon and we are confident we will see the same great results. Thanks Sam and to all of Calanni Landscaping.

  • Mark, Al and team were very professional, creative and detailed in their design of our waterfall pond. In a few days, they created a masterpiece in our backyard; my husband and I are so thrilled with the results. We love sitting outside on our deck in the morning, drinking our coffee, looking at and listening to the beautiful waterfall. The view in the evening is just as stunning with the white and blue lights. We highly recommend Ohio State Landscaping if you are looking for a exquisite water feature for your yard or business.

  • The sales representative arrived promptly when he said he would, looked over the work that was asked for and gave us a quote the same day. He explained that because the Cottonwood had bad decay at the base of the trunk they would not be able to safely climb the tree so a portable crane would need to be brought in. Upon acceptance of the quote we were given a date for the work to be done. The crew showed up on time and on the date agreed upon with all the equipment. Remarkably, the portable crane fit through the 49 inch gate leading to the back yard as did the skid steer used to remove the limbs and trunk sections. The members of the crew were courteous, highly professional and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. While the Locust trees were relatively small, the Cottonwood was anywhere from 75 to 80 feet tall, had a rotting base and very large limbs. This was the worst possible tree in the worst possible location and they removed it without injury or incident. There was some damage to the lawn from the crane and the skid steer but that was unavoidable and well worth the trade-off. A smaller crew came by the next morning to finish the cleanup and spread some grass seed in the damaged areas. Davey Tree is not the inexpensive. I was warned by friends to hire a smaller company that would charge less. They did not see the Cottonwood, nor the location of that tree. Prior to watching the work being done I might have given Davey Tree a "B" for the price rating, but having watched them work all day cutting that tree down, they earned every penny!

  • They are a bit expensive. They ended up doing a good job, but I had some trouble getting them to do exactly what I wanted. My recommendation would be to make sure to get a contract in writing from them.

  • We needed an update to our landscaping from the 1960's. Large old Shrubs ripped out along with overgrown ivy and perennials and a large half dead tree whose roots were all over the yard. They transformed this worn out yard into a show place with a variety of different plants that change with the seasons. They added a Dogwood and Japanese Maple. On top of that, Daniel created a rockscape with a variety of succulent plants that is so creative. They were always punctual and cleaned up after themselves. Thanks Geoff for all your great ideas and directing your fabulous employee's, Keenan, Daniel and Tyler. All were complete gentlemen and did a fantastic job. We were lucky to catch them while we did because they were booked for the summer. Can't wait to watch everything grow and change with the seasons. Keep up the good work!

  • Dan was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about landscape lighting and the finished product exceeded our expectations. in fact, we may have Dan re-do our front yard which was done by another contractor. Dan is dependable, professional and has a wonderful personality. I would definitely recommend him.

  • I was not sure what I wanted but Alex delivered exactly the right result. Neighbors were complaining about my trees overhanging or touching their property. City told me to remove anything touching my garage and house. I know that I don't have to cut back for my neighbors but the whole back yard was a mess. I told Alex the general problem and said I did not want to lose the privacy or the shade. Except for a few specifics, I really did not know what I wanted done. One of the trees had electric wires running right through the branches, and he had to use both my drive and my neighbor's drive to access everything. In short, all my neighbors and I are very happy with the result. Very professional and knowledgeable. Left it lovely.

  • From the time the 2 men arrived and finished it was little over 2 hours. There were a lot of dead branches. They opened up the tree so many of my plants and shrubs could get more sun. They did a great job especially the clean up.

  • The crew arrived and began to take down the 35 ft. tree right after a brief but heavy rainfall. They removed the limbs but left the trunk, stating that another truck would pick it up. Due to the holiday, it was removed two days later. The crew was efficient in cleaning the yard of sticks and wood chips. Considering that the ground was soft from the recent rainfall, very little damage was done to the lawn. Seth and his crew were very polite and professional.
