  • The cement work is good, except I get a puddle on the patio after rain.
On several occassions I requested 2-3 days notice before the work began.  I got 35 hours notice. He called me approximately 9:40 PM and said the job would start the day after next around 9:00 AM.

I had a contract to make 3 payments.  He asked for the second payment of $6,000.00  in cash!  I refused!  He did not say why he wanted cash and I didn't ask, but I felt like I was being set up for a robbery.

After the rails were removed from around the cement he did not fill in the gap or provide any dirt to do so.  What little dirt he left behind after the waterproofing was full of pebbles and rocks which will make it hard to grow anything there.  The dirt will probably have to be replaced when I redo the lawn.  I went to the cementary and got 47 five Provider name locked. buckets and dirt, and purchased 10 twenty quart bags of top soil, and I still don't have enought dirt.  This was way to much work for me to do for the amount of money I paid him.

I had cement and rocks in my front lawn.  I had to break up the cement and rake out the pices.  Again way to much work for me!

Since a new garage floor was put in, my garage door would not stay closed.  Provider name locked. did not know how to fix it so I had to call a garage door company to fix it.  It cost $60 and Provider name locked. finally agreed to reimburse me after a few phone calls, but I had to wait over a week for my money.

  • Called The company and asked to speak to a salesman.  The woman who answered the phone was not too informative and said she'd have the owner call me so I could explain what I was looking for.  The owner(I assume) did call me back the next day and I had told him the situation.  I needed a small one car garage torn down and I wanted a 24x24 garage put up in its place.  We talked for 20 minutes over the phone and he seemed very interested in the work.  He even said, "We can do all of the job or just part of the job.  We work closely with the home owner."  GREAT!  I couldn't wait to get the quote in my e-mail.  Well, a week went by and I hadn't heard anything so I called back today.  Whoever answered the phone was very harsh and I could tell he didn't want anything to do with me, a woman.  That's my take on it.  He asked for the address of the house and when he asked for the zip code I told him I wasn't sure.  That's where it got UGLY!!!!  He laid in on me that he ONLY deals with the homeowner.  Well, for some reason or another, I'm in charge of the ENTIRE project.  I have the checkbook to pay for this project.  I have the say on what type of garage it will be, the material being used, and how thick I want the plywood on the garage to be.  I'm the one with the money and I'm the one paying for the job so then WHY do you need to deal directly with the home owner just to set up what needs to be done and a quote?!?!?  He doesn't know what stick-built means.  He doesn't understand solid bridging or 6/12 pitch.  Once I have the quote, then I will sit down with him, discuss his options and then he picks a company and THEN you can deal with the owner.  However, in this situation, I will take my business elsewhere since I was told very rudely, "I won't do any business with you.  You are not the home owner."  I won't assume it's because you guys like to take advantage of folks who are clueless.  I have met those contractors, very ruthless.  Your company might want to understand the world isn't black and white.  Sometimes people are not able to take the time to make the calls and talk directly to people whether they have a medical condition, they work and are out of town for a few months, etc.  Try to be nice next time a woman calls your company asking for your services.  I had heard you guys do a good job.  We'll never know, will we.

  • I couldn't be happier! The work started on April 21st and was completed on the 22nd of May. They came in and tore down my old garage in just a few hours. The very next day the crew came in and took out all my sidewalks, part of my drive. They put in all the forms for the garage and all the walks. They very next day they started pouring the concrete. I had to wait the 7 days for the drive to cure and they I could start to use it. They owner Provider name locked. dropped off all the colors they had for the siding, trim, shingles, and the garage door. It took me a couple of days to decide what I wanted. I called and let him know and just a few days later all the supplies were delivered. The garage took just two days for the shell to go up. The siding and roof one more day.  A few days late the electrician came in and finished his work in 2 days. I would recommend Hook and Ladder to everyone.
