    M & P Enterprises/Cesar Mugaburu
Cesar was one of only two contractors who said they could do the job by August 28 (a two-week window). He came that same day, said he could paint our bungalow for $3,500.00, He said he could begin work the next day, but another contractor was scheduled to give me an estimate the following morning at 10:00 a.m. He then explained what needed to be done (power wash to remove peeling paint, then lightly sand to remove powdery coating, let dry, apply primer, let dry, then apply two coats of paint, allowing the first coat to dry and applying the second coat the next day.) Cesar is a very personable young man and I was favorably impressed by what he explained to me. The second contractor never showed up and did not respond to phone calls, so at 12:30 p.m., I called Cesar and accepted his bid of $3500 to paint our bungalow. (I do not know if this is a good price or not; I see your website says the average cost is $2802.00.) He said he would begin work at 9 a.m. the following morning. He did not show up at 9:00. (I called him around noon and he said he would be here in an hour. I called a couple hours later, and he said he had trouble with his truck and had to switch the water to a different truck but would be there in an hour or so.) He did not show up until 7:00 p.m. This was difficult for us because my sister had back surgery on August 8 and we needed to go to the library to obtain reports from her doctors. We were just about to go to the library at 7:00 p.m. when we saw Cesar and an employee in our driveway, so we did not go to the library. I asked for a written contract and did not get it until August 29, after the work was finished, with some exceptions. Some days he did not come at all and other days he did not come until late evening and worked at dusk and in the dark. (He said he had trouble with his truck, etc.) It would have been helpful if he had just notified us that he could not come or that he would be late so we could run errands, etc. He did not do any masking to protect finishes that should not be painted (newly-installed outlet with a clear plastic cover, thermometer, round window and our water meter were all spray painted, as were the threads on our faucets, white mist on our doorknob, front door and windows, white mist and smears on our black mailbox and railings, and spots on our shutters and screens). He said he would cover our bushes and flowers to protect them, but did not; plants and bushes were coated with white mist. He did repaint the shutters, door, railings and mailbox and repaired the kitchen window screen that was torn by the power washer. He replaced rotting quarter-round above our garage door at no cost and installed house numbers we had purchased at no cost, which we appreciated. He attempted to scrape off the paint on our windows, thermometer, outlet cover, and water meter--only part of the bar code on the water meter is visible. On August 28, most of the painting was done except for part of the trim below the gutter. He requested payment, but I wanted approval by the city inspector before paying him. On August 29, the city inspector called and said he approved it and I paid Cesar. He said he would be back the next day to paint the trim, clean off the outlet cover and water meter, repair the narrow living room screen that was torn, and power wash our driveway because there were zigzag marks and curlicues all over the driveway from using the power washer to blow off paint chips. I suggested to Cesar that it would be to his advantage in the future to mask surfaces that should not be painted and to present the written contract at the start of the job, as he told me at the beginning there would be a ten-year warranty, but the written contract he presented said it was a three-year warranty. He then did change the number of years on the contract, signed, dated, and initialed it, which I appreciated. Cesar did not come on August 30. I texted him on August 31 with a request that he not power wash the succulents we have growing around our rain barrel and asked him not to forget the things he said he would do. (He asked that I communicate by text rather than phone.) He replied, "Sure, madam." As of September 7, he has not come back.

    Keselman Construction Group, Inc
Fantastic quality, reliable, caring, honest people. Keselman was an absolute pleasure to work with. We have already done another job with them after the addition. I have recommended them to many people.

The Curb Appeal team was outstanding to work with from quote to completion. We had a substantial exterior stain job on our stone and cedar home including some carpentry repair work. We got several quotes over a two year period before we selected Curb Appeal. From the very beginning they were top notch, responding to our request for quote within 24 hours, making several visits to discuss the job and our expectations, and providing a detailed, thoughtful and professional quote with various options to consider. The quote was near the middle of the pack and based on many discussions with five different prominent painters in the area we picked Curb Appeal. The carpentry team (led by Dave) came out first, and they did a fantastic job replacing some rotted wood siding, installing Azek fascia boards behind our gutters and trim (to stop the carpenter bees), etc. They were fast, professional, and friendly. We had lots of weather to work around this summer and DJ (owner) and the carpentry and paint crews were excellent at keeping us informed and getting the job arranged and executed. The paint crew including the lead (Dustin) were also outstanding. Dustin worked closely with us to assess color options and combos, making several trips to the paint shop and painting various test areas so we could make our decision. Once colors were selected, they did their thing over the next couple weeks. Finally, Dustin came out for final inspection and punch list review. We had a few small items which he handled that same day. We couldn't be happier with the end result! In summary, Curb Appeal did a fantastic job from start to finish. Well done DJ, Dustin, Dave and team!

    CMN Painting
CMN Painting did a fantastic job on all three projects for house. We originally hired them to paint the exterior of our house in addition to our deck. Chris and his team did a fantastic job. The quality was high level, the price was very reasonable, and you could tell Chris cared about the end product. We subsequently hired him for additional painting projects inside our house and they continued to delivery high quality work on each project. They also do a nice job scheduling the work, showing up when they say they will, and completing the jobs efficiently. I recommend them to anyone I know that needs painting help.

    Pinpoint Painting LLC
Pinpoint Painting is a great company! As a general contractor, I am always on a tight schedule. Doug and his crew never fail to get my projects taken care of in a timely and professional manner. They deliver a finished product that surpasses expectation. With fair pricing and open lines of communication, Pinpoint Painting will not disappoint. I highly recommend this company for all your painting needs big or small.

CertaPro Painters of Chagrin Falls OH
Interactions with sales and office staff were prompt and excellent, and I received a detailed quote. Painting crews either showed-up without prior scheduling or were late for scheduled start times. Work done did not fully meet quoted proposal and mistakes were made. Garage was suppose to be painted in a latex satin finish paint, but got stained with the deck stain in a flat finish. Everything was suppose to get 2 coats, but some surfaces only got one coat. Painting crew did a reasonably good job at masking off and painting, but other prep work in quote (caulking gaps, scraping old paint, etc.) was not done. Painting crew clearly did not have a good understanding of scope of work that was in the written contract.

    CMN Painting
My house was in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. The last paint job had flaked and faded, and bare aluminum was showing on a significant portion of the house. I dreaded the though of shelling out money for a paint job and put it off as long as possible - even considered trying to do it myself. Finally broke down and sent e-mails to several local painters found on Angie's List. CMN was one of the first to respond and come to the house to inspect it. He was up-front about the challenges of the job (previous owner did not properly clean the aluminum siding before re-painting). He gave me an accurate time frame for the work and a fair price compared to other estimates. Chris provided good communication via text leading up to the work and was on-site painting with a small team the day of the job. 1 day of power wash and 1 day of paint. He and his team thoroughly cleaned up around my home after the work was finished, and he's been in contact to make sure I'm happy with the work now that it's complete. Basic paint job - white with black shutters. He painted front and side door, put fresh caulk around windows, painted an exterior entryway step - everything we talked about in out initial conversation. So grateful for guys like Chris who do good work at a fair price.

    CMN Painting
One word describes CMN painting "PERFECTION". Chris and his staff came to my home and pressure washed before staining. The job was done without delay. Then the professional painters sprayed a solid stain which I picked out. His workers were pleasant, tapped up all my windows and doors and when the job was complete they cleaned up so good I didn't even know we had any painting done. My home looks so beautiful. The company is Class A+++++. I will hire them again without hesitation.Chris went above and beyond to make my home look new. Thanks CMN

Chris and his crew did a great job. The quote was fair and reasonable, we had plenty of notice of when the job would start, the work was done in a timely manner, and the results look great. I would highly recommend this company.

Grade A on everything except professionalism due to the fact they were not careful to avoid damage to foundation plantings and lawn (trampled plants, broken branches on evergreens, and grass killed from washing out paint containers on the lawn). I applaud them for not dumping toxic materials in the storm sewer drain, but feel they should have a better way of preventing damage to a lawn and foundation plants. (However, I don't know what that is either.)
