Cincinnati Window Installers Reviews

"I am a little late on reviewing the work J&M Construction did for me back in November of 2013 but that is on purpose. We had 20 windows and the wood siding on the front of our 90 year old house replaced. I wanted to wait some time to ensure the windows and siding had no issues before I posted a review. This winter could not have been a better test.

, the owner, personally did the estimate for the work and arrived on time and provided a detail in-house demonstration on window options. He had great suggestions for matching quality window while keeping the appropriate appearance for my

home. Being an old home the windows were not square. In fact one window he measured was off by more than 2 inches and he thought it might not be possible to put a working window in the space. He and his team worked hard to not only make it look great but the window was able to open and close smoothly. Everything from start to finish could not have gone better. His team arrived on time and always cleaned up at the end of the day. We had one small issue when some trim work ordered for the windows was the wrong size. He had to reorder the trim. Instead of calling me on the phone about the issue he drove 40+ miles to tell me personally and ensure the right trim would be available the next day. Not something you see in a contractor these days. More importantly the work they did was of the highest quality. All 20 windows have no issues and have been perfect for this extremely cold winter we are experiencing. The siding is a perfect match to the rest of the house. J&M may not be the cheapest estimate you get but you will get more than money’s worth from

and his team. You owe to yourself to at least talk to J&M before your next project.
"It went exactly as planned. They windows are so efficient and look great. The salesman as well as the installers were professional and prompt. They always responded to any questions. We had a problem with one screen door. It started peeling after two weeks. We called and they took the screen door back and replaced/repainted it. It was so easy to get them to fix the problem. No questions asked it was fixed. The only negative I have (and this is somewhat minor) is that they didn't wash the windows after they installed them. They had to get scaffolding to install the windows. We have to figure out how to get the hand prints off them. (we don't own scaffolding )..Wish I would have insisted that they wash them before leaving. However, they did take lots of time cleaning the floor from the mess etc. The area was spotless when they left.
I would definitely use them again. SO GLAD WE CHOSE CHAMPION.
"Ric was great - he came out quickly after I called to provide me with a quote of the services I was interested in and we eventually scheduled the install of the sliding door. After some weather related delays, his guys came and performed the installation without issue. They were very friendly and professional while on site and the finished product looks great.
"Called on short notice and was told they could come out the next day but not certain about the time. Received a call about 8:45AM that he could be at my location between 1:00PM and 3:00 PM. He called again at 11:30 PM and said he had had a cancellation and could be there in 15 minutes. The service tech arrived on time and inspected the windows inside and out and confirmed that the icing we were seeing was normal for this type of window. Our home buyer and the real estate agent arrived and he explained the situation to them with clear examples. He said that all windows ice to some degree in below zero temperatures and that the icing on these was consistent with metal frame windows of this age. He suggested turning down the humidifier and installing deflectors to direct the heated air for the ducts away from the windows.
"This was a slow process,

Windows provided an assessment of our window problems. Once replacements were ordered it took

Windows (the window manufacturer) almost 2 months to ship the windows and Arch to complete the custom staining for these windows.
Once available for install, weather contributed to delaying the install. The Palladium Window unit was replaced in December 2013 and the other two windows were installed on January 20, 2014. Again, weather played a part in the delay of installation.
All of our interactions with Arch Window employees were professional and customer focused. These new windows are less leaky than our other 25 year old windows. The replaced woodwork matches perfectly the rest of the woodwork in the room.
We paid the balance (50%) only after entire job was completed.
"This was an experience that I want to alert everyone to. This company appeared to be professional but they came in to the house with a very aggressive closing technique. They offered an outrageously high price for the work, they would not define the work product, and they also offered a $2,000 lower price if I signed up on the spot with no explanation of project scope or materials. I requested that a written quote be emailed to me and never heard back from them. This was all after calling numerous times prior to the first meeting to be sure that I was the only decision maker. This company is focusing on older homes in older neighborhoods, such as mine, that tend to also be occupied by older residents that are not as familiar with the hard (in my opinion unethical) sales closing tactics.
I would not allow them anywhere near my house again.

policy appears to be that they call you early in the morning on the day they will come out and then let you know what time the appointment will be. On the day I was expecting them, no one called or showed up. However we had a lot of snow on that day and many businesses were closed so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I did expect them to call me and reschedule. This did not happen.
Finally after waiting 2 weeks for them to call me, I called and asked why no one called me. The guy who answered the phone told me that someone had called me and then scheduled someone to come out. However, this was to be on a Saturday and they are not open on Saturday. I told him no one called me and I only have a cell phone (no landline) so this was not possible. At this point, I could not get scheduled until January 14 and I was assured I would get the first spot of the day in the morning.
On January 14, no one called me again so I called them at 8:37. I was told that they tried to call me and now I lost my spot. I asked if they had called my work cell phone and asked what number they called. The guy gave me a phone number that was not mine. Now I find this pretty incredible because as I said, I used them before and already had an account set up (with the same phone number I have now). He started talking about rescheduling and made absolutely no apology for the fact that he made an error and now inconvenienced me twice. At that point I told him I would find another provider and he just said OK. I expect professionalism from the service providers I choose to hire and there was nothing professional about this experience.
"excellent service and attention to detail and they had to return and fix a seal in one window, which was warrantied, after several years. No problem. We highly recommend them to everyone for the quality of the products and the service. There is no hard-sell unlike many other window companies in the Cinti area; and their technical knowlege and service is impeccable. We loved them from the first home (replaced all windows) and returned to them again and had just as good an experience. They stand behind their product and their service people are great.
"I called because we needed 4 new sills/stools replaced and most likely 4 new windows. Our windows are cheap vinyl replacements from the early 90s. The windows are holding water in the bottom and the water is seeping into the corners causing rot in the wood stool. The owner took my call and immediately placed me on hold. When he returned to the call, it was apparent my business wasn't needed. He gave me the number of a carpenter who might be able to help. The carpenter may solve my wood rot problem but not the leaking window problem. I thought a window company would install windows AND replace window sills/stools. Regardless, the owner was rude and quick to pass me off to someone else.

"Windows were cleaned okay. There were drips of dirty water on window sills.
Siding was not able to clean.
Concrete was done well.
