Title Company reviews in Cincinnati

Horrible. At this point, I can specifically address the poor communication that caused stress and frustration. I won't know until tomorrow whether or not they timely handled their fiduciary responsibilities. The Buyers chose this agency but as Seller I paid for the "service". They emailed a document which would permit them to COPY my realtors but, without informing me, used that to totally exclude me from the information loop. This was particularly problematic as I was out of town. They failed to send me a copy of the closing estimates for review and only minutes before the closing notary showed up on my doorstep was I able to obtain them. (They supposedly sent them to one of my two realtors, who they had been informed was out of the country.) They did not provide in advance any of the necessary paperwork to cancel my automatic mortgage deduction and would not agree to fax it to the mortgage company to ensure it was received timely. They neglected to even inform me of the time of the closing. It took place earlier today and they have not contacted me to inform me that it was successfully concluded. Furthermore, I have received no assurance that they promptly wired the funds to my account, another service that I paid for, and I'll have to follow up on that tomorrow. (They had wanted $35 to simply send my check via next day mail.) In my opinion, Prominent Title did not handle any aspects of the transaction in a professional manner and have no concept of what good customer service looks like. It was highly frustrating and I would absolutely never recommend them to anyone.

The closing almost did not take place. A correct closing statement was not produced before closing. Proceeds from the sale were assigned to my ex even though the divorce decree clearly showed no proceeds were due to him. When I pointed this out they contacted the reviewing attorney during closing and they still were going to require me to have my ex sign an affidavit saying he did not claim any of the proceeds of the sale. It was not until I demanded to speak to the attorney, Harold (interesting to note the closer did not give his last name when asked nor is Harold listed as a "team member " on Lawyers' Title website' nor are any lawyers identified.) I asked the attorney if he read the clause on page 7 and he stated he had only 1 page of the decree! This, to me was unacceptable. The closing was held up for 2 and a half hours and caused much distress on my part. I would never use them again and would not recommend them.

I purchased a home in Cincinnati in November 2010 and obtained title insurance for the purchase through Lawyers Title of Cincinnati.  When I tried to sell the home in May of 2014 I learned that the title issued by Lawyers Title of Cincinnati was not valid and I could not sell the home without getting new title paperwork signed by the people who originally sold the home to me in 2010. I was trying to close escrow within 2 days and when I attempted to get Lawyers Title of Cincinnati to fix their errors, they were largely unresponsive. The previous sellers lived in Florida and at the time were vacationing in Europe for a month.  Lawyers Title did little more than send an email to the previous owners. They didn't return my phone calls when I was trying to escalate and get support from them.  Nor did they didn't return my emails after the event when i complained.  i cannot recommend Lawyers Title.  During the entire time that I owned my home in Cincinnati, my title from Lawyers Title of Cincinnati was invalid.  They sold me a defective product and did nothing to fix their errors.

Brian worked with us to close a somewhat complex real estate deal.  He
was knowledeable, responsive and thorough.  We would definitely use him
again and highly recommend him to others.  Very good value for money

Their service was fine. They were the one who did the title. We did not even have to go to the office. They worked professionally. I got the documentation from them. They were very good with their service.

Since it was part of a house closing there were a lot of fees. They were reasonably priced. They were not really experts at what they did. One of the owners or co-owners of the company did not show up for our closing. The realtor that we were working with called him and asked why he was not there for the closing. He had actually forgotten. We all sat there for the better part of an hour while he commuted to the location. We finally got the closing done. I would definitely not use them again.

He is very meticulous about the tile work. He asks all sorts of questions that I would even consider would an issue. He is right on top of everything and has good suggestions about layouts and spacing and things like that.

After the closing I noticed that only one of my deeds was handled at closing. My property that I purchased consisted of two plots. When I contacted the owner of the title company, Dave Horn, I was not able to speak with him. I left numerous messages & no call back. My mortgage company finally had to get him to fix the mistake. It was 3 months later that I finally got my two copies of the deeds. I never did get an apology or anything from them.

Smart Choice Title lives up to their name. I have bought 3 houses and refinanced twice. I have been to my fare share of title agencies. This company was great. We started out with one bank and then switched banks after poor service. I know this caused Smart Choice rework, but they stayed the course and never caused a delay. Ultimately, we closed on the date and time we needed. Shirley Manning took the time to explain the documents in more detail than I have ever received before. I can tell she loves her work. In all, the buyers and sellers finished signing everything in less than 45 minutes total. Using any other company would not be a Smart Choice.

HAVEN'T BEEN IN THE HOUSE A MONTH AND WE'RE ALREADY TRYING TO GET HOMESTEAD'S MISTAKES FIXED - AND THEY WON'T LIFT A FINGER TO HELP. OUR TAX MONEY IS ESCROWED, BUT WE HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE COUNTY INFORMING US THAT THE TITLE AGENCY HAS INFORMED THEM THAT THE TAX BILL SHOULD BE MAILED TO US AT OUR HOME ADDRESS (NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT OUR MONEY IS ALREADY IN ESCROW). CALLED THE MORTGAGE COMPANY (SEE VICTORY MORTGAGE REPORT) - THEY INFORMED US IT WAS THE TITLE COMPANY WHO TOOK CARE OF THIS. HOMESTEAD SAID ONCE THEY SEND A LETTER, THEY COULDN'T (WOULDN'T) SEND ANOTHER ONE TO FIX THE MISTAKE, EVEN THOUGH THEIR FIRST LETTER TO THE COUNTY CONTAINED INCORRECT INFORMATION (GEE, I WISH THAT'S HOW I COULD DO MY JOB - DO IT WRONG THE FIRST TIME AND STAND BY IT). VICTORY SAID THEY WOULD HELP. CLAIMED TO HAVE FAXED A LETTER TO THE COUNTY SEVERAL DAYS AGO, BUT STRANGELY, ITS NEVER BEEN RECEIVED. GOING TO BE A LONG FIGHT.
