  • After reviewing the reports on Angie's List I decided to talk to Mr. Neess. We have a fairly large total sum of money to invest in both self-directed Provider name locked. accounts as well as in brokerage accounts. I have previously managed this through asset allocation in various mutual funds using Provider name locked. , but my wife and I have been thinking there are probably benefits to using a financial planner. Mr. Neess seems to be very knowledgeable in financial matters. He seems to be well connected with other professionals such as insurance agents and attorneys for estate planning, etc. He has a long history in the financial industry and operates as an independent advisor without any ties to specific companies. We decided not to use Mr. Neess primarily because his style and personality just didn't "click" with us. We figure we need to find somebody that we feel very comfortable with in order to trust them in advising us on our life savings. A couple of other points to note... Mr. Neess gets compensated by commissions on the products he sells. He indicated it would be completely clear up front who is getting paid and how much, but I am uncomfortable with this as it could generate a conflict of interest (check http://www.napfa.org for more information). Mr. Neess also indicated that he has been recruiting his client base over the past few months to submit reports on Angies List. I was a little uncomfortable knowing that the Provider name locked. reports I used as a basis for choosing him were solicited. Overall I don't doubt Mr. Neess qualifications or abilities to manage money, but he wasn't a good fit for our situation.

  • Provider name locked. Schaser is a very knowledgeable and a caring advisor. It was our first time investing and he took the time to make sure we were clear on all aspects of our investments. He advised us on personal and work investments, home, auto and life insurance. He also advised us on a will.
