  • Pretty good pricing compared to city garages. They do great work and have great quality Napa parts. Easier to make an appointment, but they will take walk-ins if not too busy or if it is an emergency. Very laid back and easy to do business with. The young man there is very respectful and kind. I prefer a small family owned garage over a big franchise shop. Genuine, laid back, wants to get you back on the road safely and quickly.

  • 9 AM appointment April 5, 2018; _It took 120 minutes just to get it raised up on the lift as customer waited. Even with unforeseen (till they pulled wheel): minor right front rotor (observed cleaning & calipers pin float optimization w/ minor spray solvent = 20 minutes nominal (an extra $39.95 for that not in the original scope: was approved change). Whole duration was 210 minutes or 3.5 hours. Or about DOUBLE +_what is should have taken even w/ minor instant scope addition. Price quoted was $69.95 for the 2 wheel align-ment . I’m trained by the US govt. as certified auditor “I asked up front @ the appt.” if that was the recommendation. Frank Rottenburger (mgr.) personally assured me to my face “YES”. Upon getting car on the lift he changed drastically his story and then it suddenly required a 4 wheel alignment for at least $109.95 (an increase of about 40 % before Additional Taxes / shop fees Mechanic was seen forgetting to promptly inspect the right rear brakes and; someone had to remind him. Tire pressures I personally checked in an adjacent parking lot (post work); all drastically different from manufacturer spec. and only one was to the 36 psi they told me. They put on tire stem caps that were too small and not the black plastic specification. The mag lock was Not in the car (though they claimed it was) Other customers there commiserated as they also wondered why my car was still there as some came in for work after I did and were not happy about their car works either I was told.. Including customer Eric guy: who had to rush back into the bay to find out why for an “exhaust pipe replacement” they were un-necessarily Pulling the wheels off his Explorer (his 2ndary customer was waiting for that vehicle at home) After the discovery of inflation concerns I had to personally do soap bubble solution leak testing and test the tire mounts for integrity. It cost another extra:__ $30 for car gas (2ndary vehicle, lower mpg) since I couldn’t trust their work and had a trip out of town immediately following the poor workmanship. I dropped off 2 legal sized pad papers of copious notes directly to the mgr. and asked him to look them over and we’d talk later. I was asking for $100 consideration for all the screw ups and their disingenuous-ness. _I called a day or so later and as I suspected the mgr. started to immediately lie to me. (On about April 7 via telephone) The mgr. claimed 3 guys checked my tire pressures. 1 ) No busy car shop has 3 guys check basic tire pressures; much less Still have the pressures all grossly out of spec. after 3 people allegedly check them. They declined to amiably settle this. Federal Occup, Safety and ; Health (OSHA) was contacted due to multiple unsafe practices under the CFR 1910 General duty clause. (including no safety glasses by several staff). I also informally contacted 3+ different law enforcement agencies to share my concerns about unsafe vehicular practices they created. The bottom line is DON’T use this vendor as they can’t be trusted and; appear incompetent from objective measurements and auditor findings. I wouldn’t let them touch my equipment again ever. I am considering legal action as well for actual damages due to loss of vehicle for extra costs incurred. MR. ROTTENBURGER WAS GIVEN An opportunities to settle this amiably, but chose instead to continue to lie and perpetuate continued major customer service violations. I told him that was Bull on their part. His name appears to be appropriate to other customer’s at the garage site observations: that in multiple cases said that THEY won’t use them again and will each share that with 16 other people . It cost over $200 and the worst VENDOR I've ever had recently. And in many yrs.!

  • I damaged one of my tires. I hit some debris in the road and the tire went bad so I just replaced all 4 of the tires. They've done all the service on the Volvo. The price includes replacing the wheel and re-aligning and balancing the wheels. They always do a good job. I've had this car for 3 or 4 years and they always good to work with. The price is not cheap. Part of that is the kind of car you have. I guess I can't complain because most of the work has been under warranty. The only thing I've paid for really is the tires and the oil changes. They fix it right. They call you right back or take your stuff right away. They're real nice people there. They are expensive cars so they deal with higher end people who are probably a lot more demanding than I am. 

    They gave me a loaner car so it wasn't any big inconvenience or anything. I took it in on the 17th and got it back on the 19th so it was like 3 days is all. Mostly that was waiting on the wheel - they had to send the wheel out. That was once the tires came in. I went to see them and have them inspect the tire and the wheel. That was a different time. You have to order the tires so once the tires came in, I took the car back in and they had it the  17th, 18th and I picked it up on the 19th. Like I said that sending the wheel out to be repainted and then get it back. That takes a day or 2. 

    It's an all wheel drive vehicle so I wanted the tires to all be equal in age because if they're uneven, I've heard, it can be hard on the drive system. I had less than 30000 miles on them. I could have just bought one tire but we'd talked about the cost for 1 tire or you can replace all of them for this price. I decided to replace all of them.

  • AAA told me that if I had my car towed to Bob Sumerel on Ridge Rd that they would be able to get back with me in an hr with an estimate and I would get 10% off so I let them tow it there. It took 3 hrs before they got back to me and I was told my fuel pump needed replaced. When they quoted me I found out the 10% discount was just on labor charges. When I got my car back the next day it was making a strange sort of vibrating noise now and then and so I took it back and they said it was the heat shield vibrating because one of the clamps was rusted and broke off so it wasn't secure. I'm not sure why nobody notified me of that before giving it back to me. It wasn't making the noise before it was brought in. I took it in to another place and was told 3 of the hangers/clamps were broke and needed welding. I feel that they got broke while it was being fixed since it never made the noise prior, even though they were rusted and maybe not their fault that they broke, Bob Sumerel should have told me about the problem. I feel that I was overcharged because I called the dealer and they would charge $50 less for the fuel pump than I was charged and an auto supply store charged $200 less for the same part. Also when the AAA person came out to try to get my car started during his trouble shooting he said that it wasn't the battery and it's not the fuel pump cause he heard it kick on when the ignition was turned so I can't help but feel that I was ripped off here and that I got bad customer service. I didn't know at the time that AAA owned Bob Sumerels and I feel that is why they told me incorrect info for me to get my car in and then was taken advantage of.

  • My car wouldn't start on 2/26/17 and AAA came out to try to start it. They did some troubleshooting & said that it wasn't the battery or the fuel pump & it could be flooded and might start after it sits for awhile so I didn't have it towed at that time. The next day 2/27/17 it wouldn't start still so I called my mechanic about having AAA tow my car to him and he said he couldn't look at it til the P.M. so I called AAA to make arrangements. The person I spoke with on the roadside assistance number said that if I had it towed to Bob Sumerel on Ridge Rd that it was within the 5 mls towing range & they would get me an estimate of the problem within an hr after getting the car and she said that I would get a 10% discount for being a AAA member. I asked it they could pick me up when the car was done because I didn't have a way to get there and she called Bob Sumerel and they said fine. The tow truck came at approx 8:30 A.M. & when I didn't hear back by 11:15, I called Bob Sumerel and mentioned the hr estimate & they didn't know anything about that & said they were doing the night drop offs first & there was a car still in front of mine. I called AAA to complain about that because that was one of the reasons I had it towed there so I could have it looked at right away. I asked if I could have it towed to my original choice since she gave me the wrong info and she said I would be charged $75 if I wanted to do that so I didn't. Bob Sumerel called around noon and said that I needed a new fuel pump & it would be $800 to fix it. I asked about the discount and they said it was 10% off the labor only so I spent $780.54. I did not realize at the time that AAA owns Bob Sumerel and I thought they just endorsed them. I was charged $50 more than the dealer would have charged on the fuel pump and $200 more than the auto parts store charged. Also when I finally got my car back, I had to return it right away because it was making a terrible vibrating noise. I was told a rusty clamp had broken off and was causing the heat shield to rattle. Not sure why they didn't fix that or tell me about the broken clamp if that was the case. I took the car into a shop yesterday and was told 3 of the clamps needed replaced. Before BS worked on my car I hadn't had any noise problem indicating something was wrong. If they spotted that and maybe aggravated it during fixing it then they should have at least told me instead of sending my car back with an obvious problem. I called AAA to complain about the whole ordeal & 2 wks ago I was told the Regional Mgr would call me and he still hasn't. I called 2 more times just to let them know I hadn't heard back yet. I have been a member for 18 yrs and I am very disappointed and frustrated that they don't seem to care enough to contact me.

  • They didn't reset some setting on my car, and I got an error message the next day, and to go in for your 30,000 mile check up.It turns out the technician forgot to reset it. I took the car in, and said I got the warning message. They were so sorry about it, and gave me a free oil change, for the next time. There was an error, and responded quite nicely. I think they were fine on price. Except for the thing, the quality is always fine. The waiting area is nice, you can sit comfortably, and drink coffee. While you are waiting, you are comfortable.

  • I called to see if they could get me in and they said I could bring my car in that night. This made me happy that I could get in so soon. I dropped the car off and walked home (I live close by) and they called me within 90 minutes to tell me my car was done. I thought the price was fair and I like that such a mundane task was made easy. My only small issue was that they were so busy that I felt rushed when I was at the service desk.

  • They did an excellent job of taking a look at the tires and recommending a set of Pirelli tires at an excellent price. They performed the work quickly and handled a pricing issue very professionally when they realized that the mail-in rebate they quoted me was not actually in effect when I bought the tires. I was very pleased with the service I received at the Newport, KY service center and would recommend them to others.
