did a great job of stripping two layers of old paint off our bathroom tile and

the tile and tub. The job took longer than expected, but
Cincinnati Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
stuck to his original price quote. He did excellent work and is very detail-oriented. He even came back to our house to retouch the paint when we damaged it by accident. I highly recommend

"I called on 9/30/13 for an estimate to reglaze a bathtub, Mr.

was not able to answer my call and I left a message. He called me back and an appointment was set for 10-07-13 at 9:00. He showed up promptly and he reviewed the tub. He quoted a price of $300.00 with a five (5) year warranty. He said he was able to do the work that day.
He was able to perform the work the same day, with a helper. They did a very good job. Because he did the work the same day he came to give me the estimate, he didn't have an invoice with him. He wrote "paid in ful", and signed his namel on a

piece of paper. I stated that I wanted a paid invoice with the 5 year warranty noted on it. I have never received this to date. I have called once and left a message reminding him of the receipt, however,I have not heard from him.

"My wife and I met with salesman,

, who was very knowledgeable with material samples and information about options. He got into the hard -sell a bit when I explained I never decide immediately and although we were definitely going to have the work done, we would need at least a day to decide on the particulars.

began telling us about the personal hardship of having to get back with us in a day or two and insisted we would

the deal if the contract was not signed immediately, but I stood my ground on my policy of not jumping into a contract. My wife and I were discussing all our options the next day, when

called and gave us a better offer. We offered to come to the office to sign the contract as we were interested in seeing models of the ceiling panels, so we met

there and also looked at and decided on the wall designs. So, we contracted for a large shower, tub-shower, and 2 toilets.
When the installers came it was clear that they were experienced and efficient. One very BIG deal to us, especially with all of the tear out going on, was that they put down tarps to protect our flooring (carpet, hardwood and vinyl) from the bathroom all the way out the front door, without us asking for any of it. Very impressive! We have had 6 projects done over the last 18 months and this is the only one where they truly were protecting our property. They did bathroom #1 first with the least amount of dust and mess. They tore out the shower(tiles, walls, bench, floor, glass doors). They installed the new shower (ceiling and light, walls, floor, bench, glass doors). We love the new shower. They installed the new toilet. The only issue we had was that the tank did not go back to the wall like the one being replaced had. However, another guy came out and added a protective block to resolve it. It will flush anything!
Ok, Bathroom #2: same great protection of the rest of our home with tarps and all mess cleaned up; shower with shelves, ceiling, and glass doors beautiful to look at and works great. Also, a new toilet that my kids can't clog!
Of course we will have to wait and see but after several months we are very pleased. They just need to think about a softer sell for adults. It came close to making us say "no" when it was a good deal for all of us.
"Transaction went very smooth. Setup an appointment and Arnie (owner/operator) showed up on time. He was professional and very easy to talk with. You can tell from his decades of experience that that he knows his craft well. The work turned out beautiful. I went with a white and it's definately the centerpiece of the bathroom now. Arnie did an excellent job cleaning up and recaulking around the tub. I am defiantely glad I went with renewing the existing tub instead of replacing. No only did it save money but there is no risk of damaging the plumbing behind the walls. In my opion it it even looks better than a replacement tub in the price range I would be looking at ($400 - $600). Since Arnie was so knowledgeable I even "picked his brain" on some other restoration projects I had going on. He brought up an idea that I hadn't even though about. He's one of these individuals that definately makes you feel like you are getting your money's worth which is so rare these days.
"The quality of work was outstanding. When I realized that this job was going to involve going in through the drywall, my biggest fear was that you'd be able to tell that a hole had existed in the wall. By the time I came back to look at the work, you'd never be able to tell how extensive the work was. We replaced all of the faucets from builder grade silver to oiled bronze to update the house and it was all done perfectly. On the bathtub, the existing fittings didn't match the new faucet, even with them being the same brand, and they were able to retrofit the hardware to get it to fit without having to damage the tub or the external tile work. I'm impressed! Our bathrooms look like new now!"
"He stated he would come out to perform a on site estimate and I did not hear from him, so I called and left a message for him to call me back and set a definite date and time. Never heard back. Very unprofessional if you could not perform the service or didn't want to say that.
"As both had been refinished in the past, he quoted us on stripping the sink and tub, and then

them. He gave us a firm date and instructions on prepping the bathroom.

arrived promptly on the date we selected, and very meticulously taped off the rest of the bathroom so as not to get it dirty, get overspray, or otherwise harm it. He was even able to strip the tub without removing the fixtures, which we had decided to keep. We checked in on
Cincinnati Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
from time to time and it was apparent his attention to detail was amazing.
The entire process took about six hours, start to finish, for the tub. The sink top he took back to his shop to reglaze there, which he returned the following week. The finished product was simply amazing compared to what it was before - it looks like a brand new tub and sink.
Needless to say we were very pleased to have a brand new looking bathroom for far, far less than it would have cost us had we purchased a new clawfoot tub and a new pedastal sink. We highly recommend this company and its services. Rarely does one run across a contractor who is this up-front, honest, and dedicated to quality work.
"The entire process went really well.

"Updated as of 3/18/2012. We were contacted after our initial review and Clay came out to see our bathroom and agreed it needed to be fixed. They replaced the entire system and it is much better now than the first install. There was a bit of silicone that I found around the bathroom after the installer left but other than that we are a lot happier with the bathroom. Thanks to Clay for helping us out.

The glass block went fine and looks great in. The bathroom is another story entirely. $2500 of our cost went towards a new acrylic liner in the bathroom. They took down the old one and put up one that was molded to resemble tile. I noticed a few problems right away and called the company to have someone look at it. Now that the liner is up there isn't much they can do to fix it according to the person that came out.

My first issue was the height of the shower rod they installed. We had them put in a new curved shower rod since our old one was just a twist up one. I love the rod but the height they put it at is way too high. Even the guy that came out said it was too high. The shower curtain now barely covers the top of the tub and I can't even put up or take down the shower curtain without standing on something. I used to be able to throw my towel over the rod to use after the shower since we don't have the space for a towel rack outside but now it is so close to the ceiling I can't get the towel over. My other issue is that there is barely any light that can get in while we are showering due to the height of the rod. The representative from the company said they could move it down but it would leave a big giant hole where the rod was and they could fill it with caulk but it would look awful. So now we have paid for this shower rod that I am not happy with and still had to pay for it. He did mention we could try to find a longer shower curtain but being 5 months pregnant I don't like having to stand on something to replace the shower curtain. When I looked at our local Meijer just to see there was only standard size shower curtains available.

My second issue is the acrylic panels themselves. The ones we picked are shaped like tiles. When we picked them we were not informed that in most applications the tile panels don't line up on the sides. So now we have this nice looking tile looking acrylic that doesn't line up at all in the corners. It looks pretty bad. When the representative came out he said it is very common due to the pre cut of the acrylic. If we had been made aware of that up front then I would have went with the flat panel. He had no options for us to be able to fix it. We paid extra for the tile type of acrylic.

My third issue is chips in the acrylic panel. There are chips in the sides of the acrylic tile from where they installed it. They did try to fill it in with caulk but they are very obvious. The representative said he is ordering more color matching caulk to fill it in better. So we are stuck with chips that they will fill in with caulk from where they installed it.

The fourth issue is the caulk itself. It looks awful. It looks like my husband and I did it and we don't caulk for a living. There are big gaps between the caulk and the tub. There are chunks of caulk missing. The beading just looks bad. They are going to send the same guy out to recaulk it so I am hoping this time is better than the last.

The fifth issue is the top decorative border. On the right side it looks fine but on the left side due to where the panel end it looks terrible. There is big gauge out of the side of the border that they tried to hide with caulk. There were no options given to me to make it right.

There was also an issue of something not being on the work order. We had a shower corner caddy installed and when we discussed things with the estimator the caddy was to be installed on the right side. It was not listed on the work order and since my husband was the one home he didn't realize the estimator and I had discussed it previously. When he was asked where to put it he had them put it where the old one was which puts in the corner with the shower head and makes it very crowded. If it had been on the work order as discussed then it would have been installed correctly. They cannot move this without leaving a lot of residue on the panels from the adhesive.

We are not happy with the overall installation of the panels and rod. We did like the look of the panel but not the execution. We were not happy with the response we got from the representative of the company in how to resolve all of our problems. Mostly we were told we were just stuck with all the problems. It is not our fault the shower rod was installed so high and now we are stuck with it even though function wise it doesn't work well. Overall we are not happy with the shower. I wish we hadn't had it installed since I am not out $2500 for it.

I will update report once they replace the caulk but I don't see that helping out the overall problems that I presented.
