  • Ed did an amazing job replacing and matching a piece of Wallcovering in our powder room. He was wonderful about getting back to me as well as advising me that he was delayed. We couldn’t be happier with the results!

  • I hired Ed to wallpaper a bathroom and one wall of a guest bedroom. He was responsive, competitively priced and efficient. Everything was done in the time he quoted and the finished project looks great! I would hire him again.
    - Kristian L.
  • Ed was extremely pleasant and professional. He was responsive, worked efficiently, and cared very much about the final product. Our powder room had especially tricky dimensions, and Ed did a wonderful job making it work. All three wallpaper selections had their own challenges (with repeats, etc.) and his workmanship was exquisite despite this! I trusted him in my home, and am still very happy with his work.

  • Ed did a beautiful job wallpapering several rooms in my home. We used a grass cloth paper in our dining room and he installed it perfectly. The rest of our wallpaper had very detailed designs and he was very precise - it all looks impeccable. He is a true professional, honest and very easy to work with. I wouldn’t use anyone else for wallpapering and I recommend him to all of my friends and family.

  • Lookswell did an amazing job! They were the lowest price of the 3 contractors we talked to. They were on time every single day, cleaned up at the end of each day, and did a great, careful job. And when I asked them to do some things that weren't originally planned, they were able to accommodate my requests at a fair price. I would use them again in a heart beat! Thanks Frank and Jim!

  • I have used several contractors over the last three years to model home. Lookswell by far is the best of the bunch. First, they do high quality workmanship. Second, their prices are reasonable. Third, the workers are professional and friendly. Fourth, they clean up after themselves. Fifth, they are very hard working. Had a worker who refused water and worked straight only taking 30 minute lunch break. Lastly, they are almost always perfect. Once they made a small mistake. I told them they could come back next week to fix. The owner sent someone out the next day to fix the mistake. I also had a small patch and paint job that I didn;t think they would want. Since I was a returning customer, they cheerfully came out. I would highly recommend this group for the quality of the work, their professionalism etc. If I had owned a contractor place, this is the culture I would want. Love these guys! You won't go wrong.

  • I had a very poor experience with this company. I had reached out and spoke to David. I received an estimate right away. However, when I attempted to schedule the job, David was extremely unprofessional and did not return multiple e-mails or phone calls and was extremely unresponsive. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone. I'm actually surprised that the reviews here are so high given my awful experience.

  • Nothing went - provider stated he doesn't work in Chicago anymore even though it is listed on his page. This is a waste of people's time - please edit listing. There should be another category on Angieslist for contractors that do not stand by their listings.

  • Mr. Turner is a master painter from the old school. He took a big job and broke it down into smaller elements, methodically working through the house beginning on the second floor and finishing in the room closest to the front door. He brought a trainee assistant with him some days, who was closely supervised by Mr. Turner as he was showing him the ropes. I appreciated that he used clean drop cloths, which he told me he sends out regularly to be commercially laundered. He changes from his street clothes to his white painting attire upon arrival, spends a few minutes touching base with his client to discuss what he intends to accomplish that day, moves any furniture that is in the way away from the walls and covers everything with plastic sheeting for protection. He brings his own Walkman radio and headset so as not to disturb the residents of the house, and sets to work quietly and efficiently, putting in long hours if necessary to complete the day's assignment. I wanted one room wallpapered again, and he brought in an expert subcontractor to do so, with whom I was also very pleased.
    - Roberta K.
  • Robert and crew pulled up 20-year old tile off my kitchen floor - only to find a 120 -ear old subfloor that was impossibly rotted and unlevel. Lots of extra sweat and effort but the result is super impressive. Everyone that visits my place comments on my contemporary tile upgrade. I would recommend Robert to anyone.
