    Neighborhood Remodelers
Neighborhood Remodelers were great to work with on this project. They handled the whole thing from design to construction to final decorations. They provided us with great input and guidance through out the project. They have assembled a great team of contractors who took our ideas and designs and made them a reality. I would definitely use them again.

Siding Group & Windows Group Ltd
Siding and Windows Group is a top not h company and we highly recommend using them if you are looking for high quality and honest work. We were in a special situation and Angelo was with us from the moment I placed a call to the company, until we were ready to move forward. His approach was no nonsense, no pressure, and that is because they want to do place you within the right product categories and at the right budget. We started with just new James Hardie siding but decided to add a new front door and a new rear patio french door. Could not be happier with the design and color choices. There is a reason this company is top rated and has a long list of references which they provide so you can drive and see the work yourself.

    RealExteriors
Joe at Real Exteriors Inc. did an awesome job on my new house. Not only did he provide the best prices in town, he also had a great focus on detail and prestine end result. He showed up early and stayed late to get the job done quick and left the job site super clean. Very professional and easy to work with- I am extremely happy with Real Exteriors and will be using them for all my exterior needs.

Illinois Affordable Roofing and Tuck Pointing
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Im typically not one to write reviews, especially scathing ones but my experience with Sam is deserving of it. He guaranteed that he would stop the leak in my basement. He then misdiagnosed the source and put up new siding without doing anything about the lack of flashing behind the deck. This was in December 2018. When the leaking continued, he said he would stand behind the warranty for the work and address the root issue. It took 5 months for him to come back and attempt to address the root cause which he told me was a lack of flashing behind the deck. In January 2020 we recently had the leaking resume in the exact same place. After Sam did not respond to my message about following up on his work, which is still under warranty for two more years, we had a home inspector and several other siding contractors come to look at the issue. Every single one of them cited very poor siding work, most notably the lack of flashing around our windows and doors which all of them described as fundamental for quality siding work. We even reproduced the leak by simply spraying the windows and doors with a water hose for a few minutes. This proves that the lack of proper flashing work around the windows and doors allowed this leak to continue. In addition to poor work that did not address our issue, this was an awful contractor to work with. Heres a taste of what youre in for if you hire this company: No shows - Sam will tell you that he or a member of his team is coming and no one will show up. This has happened multiple times. Recently, he told me he came to my house and it just flat out wasnt true. I was home all day and he never showed up. Last minute reschedules - Hell call you day of and tell you something has come up and they cant make it. Or hell tell you that hes coming on a day, go silent for a day or two then when you follow up for more detail, they cant make it anymore. His other trick is to schedule work on days that rain is in the forecast and then cancel cause they cant work in the rain. Took us a couple times to catch onto that one. Shoddy work - Dont forget where this started. A bad diagnosis at the start. He then misdiagnosed a second time and put down caulk in a doorway that had to be removed and recaulked by one of our residents because it was done so poorly. Unresponsive - I basically had to beg for a written quote and contract while he was pushing to start work without one. Thank God I did because his word isnt worth much. I get a response to MAYBE every third call or text message I send him. Steer clear of this company.

Illinois Affordable Roofing and Tuck Pointing
This is a small family-owned company and it shows. They were all very attentive, very accommodating and very friendly. Sam got so much accomplished for me, came in at a good price and couldn't be beaten on timing. He installed 5 skylights beautifully and my house looks amazing. Thanks Sam. These guys are definitely worth giving a call.

    EXTERIOR REMODELING INC
We needed a large wall sided (23 ft x 80 ft) that had not seen new siding for probably 50 years. Parts of the wall were water-damaged with rotting wood. We needed someone who could verify the structural integrity of the wall and rebuild it as necessary before siding over, and we needed someone who could make the wall actually look nicenot easy given that it was far from flat. Parts of it had asphalt siding, parts were patched with roll roofing, there were boarded windows and a door that needed to be sided over. Every contractor who gave us an estimate looked at the wall briefly from the exterior, and wrote a bid that basically said replace wood as needed. Not Vince McFadden of Exterior Remodeling Inc. Vince looked at the wall inside and out. He spent significant time in our basement understanding the construction of our 1890s home. He was the only contractor who recommended fully rebuilding part of the wallframing it out, using all treated woodand also adding four angle iron pieces at the main beam where the cross beams are attached. His estimate was not the lowest bid we got, but it wasnt far off from iteven though the work he proposed to do was many times more thorough. Vince maintained a very clean job site and was extremely responsive and accessible via phone or text, always letting us know what time he would arrive and telling us what they planned to get done that day. Vince took pictures throughout the construction process and sent them to us as he and his team worked. He made a couple recommendations as things came upa gate and garage door that turned out to be smart solutions. He was on the job site every day. We are extremely happy with the workmanship of Exterior Remodeling Inc. Our sided wall looks beautifulso much better than we had imagined it could look. We felt like Vince was truly fixing our home as if it were his own. We would highly recommend Exterior Remodeling Inc and Vince McFadden to othersin fact a neighbor is hiring him to do a bathroom remodel based on the conscientious, top-notch job he did for us!

    Fortune Restoration
Fortune Restoration was amazing to work with. We had them out initially to do much needed carpentry work and painting on the fascia of our home (built in 1894). I wanted a company that would know how to handle the delicate original details on the moldings and these guys did a terrific job. Our wrought iron fence (also original) looked great after they repaired and painted it. Workmen were polite, professional and highly skilled. Some months later a piece of our siding fell off (which had nothing to do with the previous work they did). Knowing there was no way I could get a siding company to come out to do this kind of small job, I called and asked if the next time they were in the area they could give me a quote and do the repair. I received a call from the owner himself, Bob Fortune, who sent a team over to reattach the piece of siding for free for us. The job turned out to be more involved and they actually had to go get supplies come back and fix it. They still did all this still free of charge given that we were previous customers. They went above and beyond. Great customer service. I highly recommend this company and I will for sure be working with them again for any of their services.

    Siding-1 Windows-1 Exteriors
We signed a $15,500 contract for a new roof and siding work on 10/8/18 with Jim Johnsen (identified as General Manager of Siding-1, Windows-1 Exteriors on his business card). We paid the required deposit of $5,200.00 (one third). About 10 days later, the company (under the name JK Green Inc.) charged our credit card for the second installment, $5150, a charge that was supposed to come due only upon commencement of work. Work had not begun. When we called, Jim said it was a mistake and promised to commence work in the coming week. From there on out, it was months of excuses as to why the work couldn't begin: the rain, Jim's father having a stroke, having to place his father in a home, the cold, etc. As winter approached, we told Jim we did not want the roof replaced in the cold and suggested we be Siding 1's first customers in the spring. Once April/May came--it was the same pattern again. Jim had a million excuses for why the work could not commence. In July 2019, Jim sent subcontracted roofers to tear off and replace our roof and install two skylights. The roofers told us they had not been contracted to do the fascia work that was part of our contract. We called Jim immediately; he said a siding crew would handle the fascia work-- and they'd be coming within the week. That never happened. Our house is now open to the elements-- part of the fascia is falling off. Interior skylight work was never finished. Looking over court docs I can now see that Jim Johnsen is a scam artist-- he uses various company names. Run, run, run from this very polite, responsive personable guy before you are swindled like we were.

    Brighton Home Products Inc
The work was started the day after Christmas and was finished in about a week. (they couldn't work several days due to bad weather) The entire crew was very professional and I am totally satisfied with the job they did and the new look of my house. This is a reliable company which has been in business for many, many years.

Siding Group & Windows Group Ltd
I have dealt with Greg Bednarski and the Siding & Windows Group since 2000 when he sided/trimmed my 1890s frame home and most recently this year when my large picture window and two kitchen windows were replaced. I have always been impressed with the professionalism that Greg and his crews bring to the projects he has done for me. His workers are meticulous in their work and always leave the job site neat and clean. They are polite and sensitive to my concerns. I could not hope to collaborate with a better group of workmen. This year when I also had two projects that were out of the domain of the Siding & Windows Group, Greg generously gave me the contact information for people who could do the work. I felt I could trust these people simply because they were recommended by Greg. I was correct: they brought the same level of professionalism that I have come to associate with The Siding & Windows Group. I highly recommend them!
