  • Provider name locked. has been cutting and coloring my hair for years- she is amazing.  Very professional.  She is always punctual, in a good mood and has great suggestions.  I would never consider going anywhere else as I trust her completely.  I had an event in NYC and I had to get my hair blow dried for the event- the hair stylist told me that whoever was cutting and coloring my hair really did an excellent job.  I get many compliments on my hair.  The cost is very reasonable.  Provider name locked. is the consummate business woman and always wants to ensure that you are happy with the service that you receive.

  • This dry cleaner's turnaround is incredibly slow (minimum of three days and she often tries to ask for more than that). This was frustrating enough after enjoying same-day service in our previous city. But this woman is in our high-rise building and she has a captive audience of customers, including us until now. For the past nine months she has done an acceptable job with men's work shirts, but recently I made the mistake of sending in three women's silk blouses. I had to return them for further cleaning after they came back with every single stain still intact (including a smudge of food courtesy of my preschooler). Then they came back the second time and I discovered that a silk button made out of the same fabric as one of the blouses had been mangled - fabric shredded, metal form exposed and crushed. Awful. I took the blouse back to this woman, and attempted to tell her about it in the nicest way possible, and she first lied and claimed that my blouse was "old" (while one of the blouses I sent to her was 8 years old, this one is a two-year-old silk J Crew blouse with many years of life left in it) and that this just "happens" to the buttons when they are old. I protested that the button was in perfect condition when she received the blouse, and she proceeded to throw her terms and conditions in my face - flipped over one of her little tickets and pointed to a paragraph absolving her of responsibility for anything that happens to buttons. Wow. No apology, no nothing. Had it been my business, I would have apologized profusely and offered to help locate and/or sew on a comparable replacement button. I was taken aback by her rudeness and lack of concern for the damage to my garment. I couldn't think of anything else to say except, "We can't do business with you anymore!" and her response was along the lines of, "so be it." I can't wait until her lease is up in a year or so and she is replaced with someone who takes pride in their work.

  • Disappointing. Not terrible or anything, just not worth it.
It started great, the owner (Provider name locked. ) came to my house and took pictures of the bedroom set. She helpfully brought my price expectations down from where they started to what was a more realistic number. She was personable, friendly and very punctual. She also picked up a bucket of baby things to sell online.
It became less satisfying when I got handed off to one of her other assistants. I had hoped to sell my bedroom set as a set and there are a bunch of furniture sale sites. When we first started talking Provider name locked. said they could definitely sell where ever I wanted, but when I talked to the new girl she hadn't heard of those sites and while she said she would look into it, and I reminded her a few times, she never did. She was more comfortable using Facebook.  Despite this I kept with her.  After a week or so (uncertain of exact schedule), we sold part of the bedroom set and lowered the price on the last item to my min price.
About a week after that I got an email from her saying the baby items and bedframe had not sold and she offered to schedule donation pickup. I said wait! There are a bunch of other places to sell this stuff - try one of the other sites. I also asked her to tell me which groups she posted to and to send me a picture of her posting (as I didn't really trust her as much as I had at the start). I had to ask many times over the course of a couple months. (To be fair I was traveling a lot so some of that delay was on me, but she also took days to respond to my emails.) Finally I did get a screen capture of her post that literally had one picture (of the 10 or so taken/provided) and very little description. I told her to just stop trying to sell and to give me back the baby items, I'd rather give them to a newly-pregnant friend at this point.
A couple weeks went by. I remind her about the drop off of my stuff. Another week goes by, another reminder. I got distracted by work again and dropped it. Then one Monday morning I walk into my front room and find the bucket of baby items. Bad on me to leave my front door unlocked, but 1) Who comes to someones house to drop stuff off without checking to see if the person is there? 2) Who just walks into someone else's house at 8am? 3) Who does those two things and then LEAVES without ever telling me they were there. What if she got the wrong address???  She didn't even send a note/text telling me she'd dropped the items off.
I did get a bill from them that afternoon, which I paid. If they had been good I'd have been really happy to pay that amount and not have had to worry about the sale of the items. Unfortunately I feel like I did more work keeping up with and reminding her about things than I would have spent just selling the items myself. Maybe they're better at other things.
Sidenote, I posted my bedframe on a different facebook group for the same price and it sold in less than a day.
