I initially sent an email on 3/15/15 to Provider name locked. asking for an estimate on a spring clean-up and weekly maintenance. The next day, I got a response thanking me for my interest and telling me they would contact me to schedule for someone to come out for a free consultation and to give me a quote. On 3/18, I missed a call from them, but got an email that they had been out to look at my yard and I should call them back to discuss or set up an appointment. I called back right away, leaving a message with both my work and cell numbers, and followed it up with an email with the same information. I did not hear anything back. I sent a follow-up email through Angie's List message center on 3/23, that I waiting to hear back from them and got a response that they would talk to me shortly. Today is April 2nd. I've heard nothing from them and it's been two weeks since my initial request. If they were too busy, I would like to know that. Also, why did someone come out to look at my yard without letting me know first? There is a serious lack of communication going on here. I was excited to find a company that offered organic services, but I can't deal with someone this unreliable.

They have been prompt, called the day before they come, leave a notice and a flag on the lawn when they are through. Telephone contact has been polite and helpful. Our lawn was in pretty bad shape, so I can't comment on the results until we see progress, hopefully by late spring/early summer.

We usually do our own snow shoveling but often go out of town for a few weeks during the winter or are otherwise unable to do snow removal. In the past (since running out of teenagers to do the shoveling) we have contracted with various providers for periodic snow removal. There were always problems (didn't come when they were supposed to, came when they weren't supposed to, did more or less than requested). Provider name locked. caught my eye on Angies List because they do "organic lawn care," so I thought they'd be careful of my native plant garden. They were easy to reach and very responsive. In fact, while deciding which plan to choose (they offer full season services, 5 or 10 visit packages, or "on-request" services) I contacted them many times by phone and email. When I apologized for my frequent calls, they kindly reassured me that I should call whenever I needed to. Their prices seem quite reasonable. De-icing with "eco-friendly" ice melt costs extra and is pricey, but not inconsistent with the cost of this type of ice melt. They seem very organized and efficient, sending out emails when snow is predicted and again when they "activate" their routes. They also send notifications when icy conditions are predicted so you can request de-icing services. I selected a prepaid (you can pay in one installment or four monthly installments) 5-visit package. When we were out of town recently I called to activate the service; when we returned, I emailed to deactivate it. They came twice, so I still have three visits left. Our housesitter reported that the crew came promptly after each snowfall and did a good job. I was initially afraid they seemed too good to be true, but they've certainly lived up to their promises. We're so pleased we may just sign up for a full season's services next year.- DIANE J.
