  • Had a great experience working with the guys from Shavitz. When my roof top unit broke and was without any heat, they came out immediately. Ryan was honest with his assessment of whether or not to replace the unit or repair it, and very helpful throughout my decision process. The quote that he provided was very reasonable, and I found to be the best option versus the other major names that I had received quotes from. When it came time to install, Cosmin and Linas did an excellent job, were both very friendly, and walked me through everything they were doing throughout the process. Overall, I am happy with the experience of working with Shavitz. And at the end of the job, Ryan came back again to make sure that everything was up to par. All in all, very happy with the service, but most of all the positive experience of the entire staff that I dealt with.

  • The May 2018 installation work was not ever completed according to standard despite my numerous phone calls over the course of the summer of 2018. The closest that the 2 stories ever came in temperature was 7 degrees difference between the 1st and 2d floors, causing the system to keep running in an effort to bring the 2d floor to the requested temperature, thereby causing the 1st floor to become too cold. The issue needs to be resolved by adding 2d floor vents. The current 2d floor vents were all placed on the floor (cold air does not rise!), and too close to drapes and furniture to be effective. The work went several days over the projected completion date, causing me to lose money on a scheduled vacation. Only 2 technicians per day was completely inadequate given the size of the job. Another delay factor was that the "just delivered" compressor was allegedly stolen from my property, which appears to have been an inside job. One of the technicians spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to vacuum up dirt and insulation. He did not have an adequate vacuum, using just a small suction hose, going over and over the same areas. Despite numerous visits by the original technicians, and another person Sergio, I was told by the management at the end of the summer "Too bad!". They have sent my account to a collection agency!

  • It was very easy to schedule an appt with Enjoli to get the furnaces in our rental building inspected and cleaned; as the work was not urgent we scheduled a week in advance. Ramad showed up right on time, did a quick and efficient cleaning and inspection of the furnaces and pointed out maintenance work, replacement of parts, etc, that was indicated. I am a pretty handy DIY guy, just wasn't familiar with GFA furnaces. So as Ramad explained what was going on he realized I could handle replacing the parts myself*. He told me what parts were needed and even helped me source them. That's WAY beyond the call of duty of a service tech, as he could have said 'hey I gotta replace these parts for you' and charged much more. But guess who I'm always going to call in the future, or when these old furnaces start to need replacement? BTW one of the parts Ramad warned needed replacing soon did in fact fail about ten days after his inspection, right on the day I was heading down to replace it. I had just gotten the part. Tenant thought I was amazing for showing up within a few hours and fixing the problem. Overall really impressed with Browns' and feel like we have got all our HVAC needs covered for the future. *I am not recommending this to anyone else; I'm not a pro but have been doing our household and appliance repairs for 30 years. Only take a job like this on if you are quite handy, can work in a tight space, have the right tools, have enough time to do the job right, and above all are CAREFUL. It's nothing to mess around with.

  • They were prompt, responsive, and reliable. Their prices were a little higher than other companies but I'm willing to pay more for their reliability and honesty. I've also used them to service my AC and furnace. They're always great! You can save money by paying up front for both your AC and furnace service for the next year. This gives you a 10% discount on any future work and also they say gives you priority in scheduling in the future, however, I have never had an issue scheduling... they always find a way to squeeze me in.

  • I called for emergency service because my heater stopped working after business hours...of course. "Mike" responded to my call and asked me what was going on. I told him that my igniter came off after I tried cleaning it because my furnace kept turning off. He quoted a price of $254 for parts and labor, and $117 for coming out after hours. I asked if he can do better with the price, then he became upset and said in a angry tone, "then you can wait 'till tomorrow." The price for the parts and labor is $204 during business hours, and $254 after hours. I told him I thought the extra cost of $117 covered the after hours cost. He began to berate me and told me to stop arguing with him. I told asking for a better price is not arguing. Any sensible customer will always try to get a better price especially knowing that people in his profession, and plumbers tend to inflate the cost in emergency situations. He responded that it was up to me to use him now or wait 'till tomorrow. With an attitude. Knowing that I needed him more than he needed my money gave him the edge to treat me with absolutely no sort of decent good customer service. I bought my furnace and air conditioner from Van...of course this will be the last time using them.

  • Walt Arzet was very professional. His initial estimate was higher than others I had received, but he matched the lowest price. The system appears to be working well and the installers were punctual, courteous, and professional. We have a 15 year warranty so hopefully things will continue to go well.

  • The technician was very thorough with the cleaning. I watched him literally dismantle key parts of the boiler and thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed the inside of the boiler then put the parts back together after cleaning them individually. He then checked the water pressure and made some adjustments. He also made sure that the electrical components were working properly before he completed the job. Well done!

  • Mr. Nelson came to our home 4 to 6 hours after the appointed time. He made an adjustment to the boiler's steam flow, as it was set too low. He reviewed the radiators needing repair and other than needed new vents. After 10 days of poor communications and many canceled appointments, which means many times of having to tell our tennants that the appointment had been cancelled and rescheduled, and then repeating that over and over again, we had to tell Qualified Heating that we could no accept that pattern and would not be using their services again. We are starting the process over with another HVAC contractor.

  • The boiler was installed November 7th by a 2-man crew. Install took over 8 hours. A leak was discovered in one of the pipes connected to the boiler (not their fault/responsibility: unrelated to the install). Four Seasons came back to repair the leak (Nov 13). Their workers caused secondary damage to the walls unrelated to the repairs. I had to argue on the phone for a bit to get a reduction in the cost of the repair, since I now needed a handyman to come repair the drywall they damaged. The technician who refilled the boiler after the repaired leak had trouble getting the boiler to heat water past 130° F -- he said it should be going as high as 190 °F. After several hours he determined that the install was improperly done: it was missing a part. Specifically, an outdoor temperature reset probe. The manufacturer's manual indicates this part is not optional and is provided with the unit. Now suspicious of what else went wrong, I read the entirety of the manufacturer's manual. It appears they installed the wrong type of boiler for the surface (inside the attic). The boiler is not certified for installation on combustible flooring (wood). The manufacturer does provide a special base that is 4" thick and made of hollow concrete block and galvanized steel. This part was not installed. As installed the boiler poses a fire hazard, is not up to code, and will not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Four seasons called me the following morning (Nov 14) and quoted me $1,300 for the installation of the part they failed to install. I told them this was unacceptable. They spoke with managers and came back and told me they would be installing it free of charge, but they needed to order the part. When asked about the combustible flooring they told me to take it up with the technician when he's on site. I was promised a call (by Priscilla) the following morning on Thursday, Nov 15 with a status update on the part. Thursday morning came and went with no call. I called Four Seasons at 5 PM on Nov 15th and spoke to a different representative (Matt, I believe). He checked and said the part had been ordered and was being shipped overnight from the manufacturer and was scheduled for delivery at 9 AM on Friday, Nov 16th. He said I would be getting a call on Friday to schedule the install. Friday came and went with no call. I received no call over the subsequent weekend either (didn't expect to really). Monday (Nov 19) morning I call and speak to Priscilla again. She tells me they haven't ordered the part yet and it would take 5 business days to get it from the manufacturer. She had no explanation for the conflicting stories. I'm using all channels to recover money from the installation fees to use to pay another provider to complete the install.

  • I never worry when Mannie is on the job. I was not able to be there but my husband was at home. He told me that having Mannie there and watching him, he knows that Mannie has a great deal of pride in his work. He is very efficient and walked my husband through each project, going back over everything to make sure everything was functioning as it should. Mannie is awesome and is always up for the challenge. I truly appreciate him!
