    They were two nice girls, but they did not come with a stretcher, just a rickety wheel chair from the dark ages They thought that they could just carry me down in that chair and I knew that was not a good idea. They were going to call for some backup assistance but it didn't happen

    The medical staff were all very nice. Billing and administration is a total nightmare! The day I went for surgery they made me pay up front before I even had anything done. Then, when I received the EOB from my insurance company, I discovered St Joseph's overcharged me almost $1,000 dollars! When I called to question it, I got some ridiculously evasive excuse and was told I'd receive a refund in TWO to THREE WEEKS! Are you kidding me? $1,000 is a lot of money. And three weeks is a long time to wait for it considering it was their "mistake." I just wonder if they would've even returned the money at all if I didn't catch the error. Considering the deceptive way the whole thing was handled, I kinda doubt it. Take my advice, just stay away from this place.

    Their price is an A, it is competitive. To get a solid A rating, they could stop screwing up my prescriptions. The actual people are fine. My issue with communication has to do with their automated system. They have a system in place where they can just automatically refill your prescriptions for you. I have three prescriptions but they have never managed to automatically refill all three and so, I wind up still making three trips to get all my prescriptions filled. I stopped using CVS, I get my prescriptions through mail order. That was frustrating. I would use them in certain circumstances for example, just a one off prescription like when I need antibiotics to clear something off.  For my recurring prescriptions, like pressure and things like that, I will use mail order going forth.

I don't have a specific incident because any time I have an insurance question or a medical provider issue Braun goes above and beyond to help me sort it out. I can also call them with questions about medications and there is always someone to take my call and advise.

    My last appointment with the doctor was fine, as a matter of fact I am just out of the hospital. With one or two exceptions, the nurses were phenomenal. When you go in on an emergency basis, you can't pick a time, I went straight to emergency. The punctuality is one of my main concerns, when you tell me that my surgery is going to be at 2:30 and the doctor doesn't make it to the hospital until 4:00 and I am nervous knowing anyhow. I realize that he couldn't help it, he was stuck in a surgery at another hospital but when you are nervous and scared, that doesn't help. The staff friendliness is excellent. I even got a card from the nurses saying we were happy to help you, hope you are doing well. The communication was excellent. I made it very clear that I am a kind of person who needs to know what is going to happen, how it is going to happen and what is the worst case scenario and they were all very forthcoming with that information. I am waiting to find out the results of the surgery. My primary care physician has that as her primary hospital.

    For the kids, their illnesses included: Strep throat, rash, and a wrist injury. On site they have rapid strep tests, x-rays, labs, and the best part: They have the prescription medications filled on site for less than I pay at Walgreens/CVS. The total experience is actually pleasant, with the kids going to a room with a large TV in order to distract them.
    For my mother, she needed a couple things: x-ray of her knee for pain, a referral to an orthopedic surgeon, and travel vaccines. Innovative Express Care was able to hook her up with one of the top knee surgeons in the world from Rush, due to the physician's connections and reputation as an ER physician for over 10 years. The travel vaccines were on site, and he gave us the CDC recommendations for what to take, and then he gave my mother precautionary medications in case she got traveler's diarrhea (in India) which she used!
    For me, I needed a yearly checkup (honestly I just needed my cholesterol checked). So, I was amazed when they drew the blood, and then 8 minutes later, the doctor came in with the results! Honestly, that was different. Then he went over each number, talked about my family history, diet, and how to make behavioral changes to get myself into a habit of working out. It was so different than being called 7 days later by a nurse who knew nothing about me. They also checked my hemoglobin, electrolytes, and glucose levels, and all the normal history and physical exam stuff. Absolutely easy, convenient, and efficient.
    Overall, it's my new one-stop shop for my kids, my mother, and myself!
