Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Reviews

"Rich was great! Called and left a message about our problem around 8:30 and he was out here by 11. Was able to more or less diagnose the problem over the phone so it was a quick visit as well. Will definitely use them again for any future repairs.
"I called the half-dozen top-rated large appliance repair companies near my northside Chicago home. Nick of
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
is the only one who was willing to discuss my oven malfunction long enough to offer an initial diagnosis over the phone, and he is the only provider who impressed me with his professional acumen and knowledge. Four or five years ago, shortly after

delivered my

(made by Frigidaire/Electrolux) range with electric induction cooktop and convection oven, the cooktop quit working and the range displayed an error code indicating that, most likely, a "filter board" needed to be replaced. The first tech who came out from
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
looked at it and said "I have to order the filter board; then someone wi'll come back after you call us to say you've received the part (even though I had reported the error code when making the appointment so the tech really should have had that filter board with him when he arrived). Weeks later, when a tech arrived to install the new filter board, he snapped a small but critical connection on the filter board during installation and either didn't realize he had broken it or didn't want to report that he'd broken it. Instead, he reported that it had turned out the filter board was not the problem after all, and then began a months long odyssey of techs ordering and installing other parts (and none of them replacing the new but broken filter board). I think the techs were supposed to take back the parts they took out -- all of which were new and good parts except the filter board -- but they left the parts behind. So, I have a stockpile of parts for this range, and it's important to me that whomever repairs my range be willing to use my parts if one of them is what's needed for the repair. Nick of
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
is the only provider who said he'd be willing to use my parts. All of the other companies said they would only install parts that they ordered themselves despite my being willing to agree to no warranty on the parts, and regardless of whether their ordering parts themselves would delay the repair. Unfortunately for me, Nick let me know that he no longer services Chicago (which makes his willingness to speak with me at length that much more impressive). But Nick did give me a telephone number for a company, Premium Appliance Repair (773-817-8569), who he recommends and to whom he is referring potential customers in Chicago.
"This was an example of A++ service. The dryer vent was clogged with a lot of (frozen) lint, which took several hours to clean out.
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
was happy to stay until the job was completed, which caused him to run late to his next client. I will continue to use

the next time I need a large appliance repaired, or I'll recommend him to my friends and neighbors.
"A technician came out on Saturday. My window was 8am-2pm, but he was an hour late and arrived at 3pm. I didn't even mind that he was really late, as long as he could fix my washer. I stated on the phone that whoever came needed to bring a key to open the box for the washer. Even though any appliance company I've dealt with in the past always makes their techs bring keys, I made sure to mention it on the phone so it wouldn't be a wasted trip.
When the tech arrived (late), the first thing he asked was if I had the key. I was livid....I had made 100% sure to tell them he needed to bring a key. When I said I didn't, he told me that my only option would be for him to drill through the lock, since this company doesn't carry master keys. I've never heard of an appliance company not carrying the keys. I obviously did not let him drill through the box and ruin my washer. Based on the description I told him, and from him plugging it in and running it, he said he knew right away it was the timer (even without the key). He wrote down the serial number of the washer.
At this point, I was done with this company for how unprofessional they were. However, the office called me and apologized and told me that they would send someone else out right away. While this was a HUGE inconvenience to me since I work during the week (and they are only open 8am-6pm), I went along with it. After all, I just needed to get this fixed for my tenants.
Then came today, when they sent another tech out....all he did was bring the key, open the box, and tell me it was the timer!!! He didn't even bring a timer to fix it....that would be an additional trip and an additional charge! How can this company claim to service washers, but then not carry the most common parts?? In years past, when I went with better service companies like
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
(who actually bring parts with them so they don't waste a customers time), I never had a time take so many trips to fix! Not only that, but they wanted to charge me $340 altogether to fix the timer. What a HUGE ripoff?! I've never paid above $225 to have this same timer replaced by other service companies in the past....and it never took THREE TRIPS!!!
Needless to say, I'm not letting them repair the timer because I no longer trust that this company does anything other than screw up, or try to make multiple unnecessary trips to pad their profit. Why wouldn't they have told me that this would just be ANOTHER diagnostic visit if they knew I was in a hurry to get it fixed, and had to keep rearranging schedules to meet them. The answer is because I would have went to another company, and they wouldn't have gotten to charge me a trip charge. I should have know to just be more patient and I loyal with the company I was previously would have been fixed by now!
I would strongly recommend choosing another service company. If you want to overpay, and waste your time with multiple trips to diagnose

problems, then choose this company.

came on Thursday and diagnosed the problem with refrigerator water dispenser leaking. He gave us a $275 quote and took a $69 dollar deposit. He came back on Saturday with the part to make repair. He was very professional, polite, and friendly. We were really impressed and happy that he brought 2 thin boards to protect the kitchen floor when rolling refrigerator out. He had also taken off his shoes when entering the house. He was very efficient and was probably out the door in less than 45 minutes after taking an additional $206.
"Horatio diagnosed the problem over the phone, ordered a new motor, arrived at the appointed time, found another issue, went out and purchased a blower and installed everything. He's polite, punctual and professional. Not only would we use him again, but we'll happily refer.
"The repair for my dishwasher was scheduled promptly. Communications about timing went smoothly. Mr.
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
was there on time. He diagnosed the problem and, fortunately, had the part in the truck. He was able to repair it in one visit. Everything about the service was quite professional. The cost of repairs was reasonable, and I also appreciated the 5% senior discount. I would definitely call Appliance King again if I needed another repair.
"I called on a Sunday afternoon, expecting to leave a message, but got a person who took my number and five minutes later,
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
called back. I explained what noises the dryer was making and the model and age, and he told me that he could probably fix it for 100-200 dollars, and it would give me another year of service, but for not much more I could get a new one that would last me 15 years.
He got nothing other than goodwill from the conversation, but he did get that!
"I called

didn't complete the installation (and even after having them come out a second time). Horatio was able to separate the old washer dryer quickly and come up with a solution to stabilizing the washer / dryer which were stacked on top of each other. He ran the washer to make sure that it was stable. He even replaced the folding door that
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
left removed. Aside from that he accommodated my schedule with a last minute time change. He showed up within the time frame given as well. I was very extremely happy with his work especially given how much time and energy I wasted in trying to get
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
to do the same job. I noticed he had a ziploc of banana bread that his previous client had given him. I didn't have anything home baked to offer so I hope my glowing review will give him more business because he deserves it!

"Came out a couple of weeks ago to fix my oven which had stopped getting warm. Diagnosis found that the electrical board was the problem. The next problem was that this board was discontinued, so we thought I had to get a new oven.
Long story short, I was able to get the board remanufactured.
Chicago Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
came back and installed the part, made sure everything worked correctly, and put the oven back perfectly into its place.
He is personable, professional, and knows his work. I recommend him to anyone with an appliance problem.
