  • Dr Melton was acceptional in his bedside manner, making sure my son was at ease and explaining everything as he went. Both of my children are seen by him as well as myself. He is very good with complicated eye conditions. Although he tends to run late, he is very thourough and takes time to listen. At the same time he doesn't waste time, moving as swiftly as possible without sacrificing your care or needs. My children's needs were straight forward enough and they look forward to seeing him.
As far as my eye conditions, they are complex and high risk and he has been very proactive. I was both impressed and relieved to have a Dr working hard to find the best approach and not giving up when nothing was working. He kept digging and finally we found some solutions together. When cataracts developed he was prompt in referring me and making sure I got through the surgery. His nurses are very kind and supportive. I have only seen the surgeon there .
There is one Dr that is very elderly and I have very serious concerns on his ability to give competent care. I am not sure why he is allowed to practice. I wish I could recal his name but one of my children was misdiagnosed by him and had to been seen again the next day because I knew he was wrong. Turned out I was correct. So you have to balance the experiences with the provider giving them.
Outside of that weird one time situation I would recommend the practice. We have used almost every service there with no problems other than running consistently late. (Average of 20-25 minutes late)

  • I found them on Angie's List and I like that they are really thorough. They did a really good examination for both my daughter and me. They took a really long time but that was because they were being so thorough which I did appreciate.

  • Phone call was very friendly and accomodating. Appointment same day!  The entire office was very courteous, friendly, and welcoming. Such a nice surprise. They treated my son as if he were a VIP.  We saw Dr. MacIntyre who I don't see listed here, but is Dr. Henderson's practice partner.  She was a total pro, with a great bedside manner.  The overall experience was the highlight to my previously busy, stressed day.

  • The doctor was OK and seems detailed in her exam, however once tiring to order glasses and patches the process completely broke down. When you have a child in a Doctors office for 2 plus hours dilating their eyes it is difficult enough however, you deal with it to get them the treatment they need. But when the process of ordering glasses, patches and paying with insurance becomes so difficult and it feels like communication has completely broken down your treatment begins to suffer and it has a negative effect on the care of your child. My other child had the same issue at this age and we went to Dr. Daughtery at Horizon eye care and only left because of an Insurance change and Dr Goshorn was well recommended. We will be going back to Dr. Daughtery. While Dr. Goshorn maybe an OK doctor, her practice at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Association misrepresented themselves as taking our insurance when setting the appointment for our Son. Then after ordering glasses you find out at the cashiers they do not take your insurance, while dealing with a child with dilated eyes, it gets quite confusing. Then the cashiers begin to demand a down payment right now or they will not order your glasses frustrating builds and they tell you they will work with you to use your out of network coverage to help pay, but only after paying directly out of your pocket first. To top it off a parent comes in with a small child that eyes are watering and will not stop and ask if there is any way to see a Dr today, the person helping them looks at the parent like he is crazy. They office staff continued not to make any effort to help this parent, it took them forever to even start to see if a doctor was available then they acted like it was inconvenient to even look at the schedule. I then tried to work with the office to use my out of network coverage and they continually failed to fax documents I needed to file a claim and they refused to get the doctor to send a note to the health care insurance who in most cases will cover glasses for Amblyopia if the doctor will send a note explaining the medical need. Most insurance needs that note to make sure wihen the Amblyopia is reversed or cured and your child just needs correct lens they no longer cover the glasses. My daughter had all the same needs and Dr Daughtery's office at Horizon Eye Care took care of all of these issues and my daughter has great eye health and vision. So Dr Goshorn in my opinion needs to evaluate the office staff and practices if she wants to be considered a doctor to treat pediatric patients. Unfortunately for Dr. Goshorn healthcare is team process and her team is letting her practice down.

  • I wasn't seeing well with my current pair of glasses. I was ready for a new prescription and a cool, new pair of glasses. Dr. Henderson conducted a very thorough exam, and was focused on me the entire time I was there. The office is new and the equipment is state-of-the-art. Once I had my prescription I worked with a specialist to find just the right pair for my face, hair, etc. I have bought glasses at mall chains in the past and have never received the attentive service that I did at Blink. I didn't have to sign in or take a number - I was greeted cheerfully by name when I walked in the door. The store is stylish and comfortable and has so many great pairs of designer glasses to choose from. My daughter was with me and watched a movie in the kids corner while I was occupied - and she loved that they offered her a cup of hot chocolate! I highly recommend Blink Eye Care and Eye Wear to anyone looking for personal vision care, good service and a great selection.
