Nurse Practitioner reviews in Charlotte

  • The overall experience had a few small bumps but had nothing to do with Dr. Brewer. First of all, I wasn't told to fast for the blood work. The only reason I did was because I called the clinic myself the day before and asked if I was supposed to. The other thing was, I was advised to have two other preventative care examinations. For one, I was given a referral and made the appointment myself. But for the other one, I was told that the third party would contact me to set up an appointment. So far I haven't heard anything. The clinic is large and feels like the grinding wheels of "the health care system". However, the staff were friendly and the doctor was excellent.

  • She is an internist. I am new to the area so I was looking for a physician that I could go to for just about anything. I forget how I heard of the clinic. I am sure I looked online for some recommendations and that place got some good recommendations. I called to make an appointment and asked for a woman physician if possible so they gave me Dr. Brewer. She was very easy to talk to. I felt very comfortable with her. I felt very good after seeing her that time. I called and made an appointment and I got in within a week. It wasn't anything urgent. Their whole system is so good. We go in there and they have got their people waiting for us to sign in. We don't wait in the waiting room longer than five minutes. It was nothing like I was used to so it was great. I didn't have to wait very long at all. The staff was very nice. I liked the doctor a lot. She was very easy to talk to. She wasn't talking down to me or anything like that. There wasn't really a treatment. It was more her getting to know me and knowing what my issues were. It wasn't like she diagnosed anything. She seemed to know what my needs were going to be and she set me up for some testing and that was effective. I have had no problems at all with billing and administration. I just pay my co-pay.

  • My experience has always been positive He is very knowledgeable and caring. He is always able to take time with his patients. He is conservative, so he doesn’t recommend new medicines. He prefers to prescribe medicines that are proven to work. He is always assessable. I trust his judgment. He works well with my other doctors. He orchestrates my whole health care profile.

  • I checked in with the front desk and we had a seat in the waiting area. We were called back by the nurse within a few minutes. The nurse weighed the baby and brought us to the exam room. She said that the Nurse Practitioner, Mary White, would be in shortly. Mary came in within a few minutes. She was friendly, reassuring, and adressed all of our questions. We checked out at the front desk and scheduled the next appointment.
  • She has a patient personality, she's friendly with the patient and she takes a lot of time with you during appointments. She answers all your questions without hesitation too. Also, if she's not too clear with your problem, she will research what you have and then give you print outs with very useful information.

  • Was less severe than with the doctor, when I commented on how she upset me with talk of other patients passing on. She had difficulty with the Pap and actually did not get a good sample. Said I would have to come back in for a re-test. I will go to a ob-gyn, as it was painful. She still talked about dead people (talked about a patient that passed from sleep apnea). This worried me. I did do the sleep clinic, which was helpful. She called in a drug and I ended up with the wrong drug. I called and it took a week to get the correct drug and even then I wasn't sure what she wanted me to take. They are really slow in responding (when calling nurses). She recommended I see a dietitian, which I did do. She did recommend some alternatives for cholesterol. She did call me after I had concerns. Did confirm that the second drug I got was the correct one. She said I could attend a free seminar from a dietitian at a local pharmacy in Matthews. This would have been helpful to know before I scheduled the appointment with the dietitian and got the expensive meal plan. I was confused about the diagnosis. It caused more worry for me than necessary.
