    Popcorn Squad
The removal work itself was the highest quality. The crew sealed off every room and took every precaution to ensure that the debris from the removal process was contained as much as possible. At the end of the project they cleaned the house so thoroughly that I could hardly find evidence that they had been there. Every bit of popcorn finish was removed without leaving marks on the ceiling, and the new finish and paint job on the ceilings were flawless. The management of the project and communication about progress were much less satisfactory. Less than a week into the project the crew working on the second floor was pulled off, leaving only one person working on the first floor. Eventually that person ended up doing the second floor as well. As a result, the project took ten days longer than originally estimated. The project manager failed to provide any information about the changes in crew or the project end date, and I was only able to get useful information by talking with the one remaining crew member. I realize that this company is extremely busy, as are many other contractors, but a project already in process should not suffer because the company chooses to overbook.

    Popcorn Squad
We called Popcorn Squad based in their glowing reviews here on Angie's List. Mike came out to give us an estimate, explained exactly what to expect, etc. He was friendly, communicative, and throughout the process, genuinely invested in making sure we were completely satisfied. It was a big job for a large home that had to be broken into two parts (main living area vs. in-law suite and basement). We were able to completely isolate one chunk of the house while they did their work, then we moved into the other when the time came to switch. Jim and William were friendly, courteous, and professional at all times. During the last leg of work, two members of their crew had separate family emergencies on the same day that caused some delay, but sometimes life happens and we understand that. There are worse things in the world than mild inconvenience. Jim and William, on their own accord, worked through the July 4th holiday to make up for lost time, which we greatly appreciated. The end result was absolutely fantastic. Despite being such messy work, they managed to keep everything, including our brand new carpets, as clean as humanly possible. While the job was a touch more expensive than we were hoping, it turned out to be money well spent. You get what you pay for, and Popcorn Squad is the best. They do great work and I can't recommend them enough.

    D & D Drywall & Painting
It went great. Dennis was a pleasure to work with. He came out and gave me an estimate, and we scheduled the work for the following week. Dennis and his team showed up right on time and got right to work. They worked diligently until they were finished (took the whole day) and their work was impeccable. You would never know the ceiling in the bathroom had been damaged; it looks perfect. The room they painted is the real jewel, though. It was deep red, painted fairly sloppily 13 years ago with drips and smudges on and around the trim. It iis now a soft gray with perfectly clean lines around the crown molding. Im thrilled! I would definitely use D&D in the future.

    CertaPro Painters of South Charlotte
This is the second time I've used Certa Pro of South Charlotte and if Joe would come up to the Lake I'd use them a 3rd and 4th time as well. Joe has helped me sell two homes now. This second one being my moms and it needed ALOT of work. We had 12 gridded window frames that were dark brown that needed to be converted to white... and the grids wouldn't come off. I get anxiety just thinking about it. All trim in the home was dark brown, pop corn ceilings had to go, and oh there was a dark brown beam and framed sky lights in the sunroom.....As always Joe gave me his honest opinion. The service is second to none. The house sold and we are very happy. Thank you Joe!

I had a scheduled appointment with Dennis on a Friday. When he didnt show I contacted him by text (which he preferred), and asked if he was running late. He said yes , sorry, and could he come the next day on Saturday. When he didnt show on Saturday, and I texted him again to ask him again if he was coming and he never responded.

    SCG Painting
Outstanding. Their small team of painters transformed the home. There was extensive damage done by past tenants, which included paint drips, holes in drywall, and soot damage. When Rick from SCG Painting was done, the home looked like new again.

    Eager Beaver Handyman Service
As soon as I closed on the house, I had to be out of town for 2 weeks. Shane Halpin of Eager Beaver brought in his crew and plowed through the extensive list of changes (and I kept adding tasks as well). Imagine not being present for such extensive work - upon my return, what a wonderful work product awaited me!! They continued for a few more weeks and I continue to use their services regularly - whenever I contact them, they are responsive, professional and meet every challenge I have thrown their way!! I would never consider using any other company - I trust them and know that whatever they tackle will be done to the highest standards!! Thanks so much for making my house look beautiful!!!

    Meacham Drywall and Paint
Excellent. Bill and his crew were at our home at 8:00 a.m. as they said, and they completed the jobs that day, including removing a border at the ceiling of the bedroom and a water stain that resulted from a roof leak. They also repaired a number of wallpaper seam separations in our den. All-in-all, they were very good and pleasant workers, and we will ask them to quote to paint our exterior in the near future.

    Inova Interior Walls, LLC
Ron called immediately to discuss job. When I stated that I was acting as the general contractor on my home, things kind of deteriorated from there. He stated that he was in business to make money and that he charged a minimum of $400 per day for 1 person and $600 per day for 2. He further stated that he had a lot of expenses for running his business and didnt want to waste his time and gas if I wasnt prepared to pay for his services. Then he stated that if he overestimated the job but finished more quickly, then that was his profit. I was prepared to have him quote the job but it seemed like he would be difficult and expensive to work with. When I refused to have him estimate the job today, he said to call someone else for the job, and proceeded to hang up on me. Others may have had better experiences since they were less knowledgeable about the time and expense required to perform drywall installation and repair. It is always best to obtain more than one quote as drywall installation is not a licensed trade. Disappointing experience.

    SURESERVE
After a good experience with his son doing exterior pressure washing, I asked for a quote for drywall repair, painting, exterior deck repair and staining, backsplash repair, countertop sealing, installation of cabinets and flooring in the laundry room and more. Estimate for labor was $2,100 and I okayed that. Needed to buy cabinets, paint, hardware, etc, which we proceeded to do. The day before work was to start, he said he made a mistake on the quote and needed to charge me $3,000, an increase of 42%. Although I believe him that he made an honest mistake in his estimate, it changed the whole dynamic for me and decided not to proceed. Problem is that now I need to start the process all over again, plus I had spent money and time on materials.
