Tree Service reviews in Boston

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • The arborist as they like to call themselves called in a timely manner and was at our place in no time with papers/credentials in hand and could give us a verbal quote immediately.  Knew the types of trees and sounded knowledgeable.  After he sent us the hard copy of the quote we called him back to set up a time.  Were told that he would call us back to set up a time.
As it ended up, we had to call him back and leave a message.  He called back and said that due to the snow they were backlogged.  I said that they should have called me with that information and that they needed to give us an idea of when they could do the service as soon it would be too late.  They said there was also an issue with parking they were concerned about also due to the snow, and I said, again that was something they should have called me about to see if we could make it happen.  We discussed all this during this phone call and hammered it out enough that we could set a date then and there.  The ten feet of snow in our backyard was not going to be an issue.  Which begs the question:  Why didn't they call me since the possible setbacks were just hypothetical and clearly not actual.
So, this general logistical setback, which required me to follow up with them instead of the other way around, left a bad taste in my mouth.
So the guys came, they did the work, they left.  When I inspected the work I was rather appalled at the quality of the work.  The branches were just kind of lopped off haphazardly in the middle of the branch.  It really looks awful.  I could have done what they did. I did call Provider name locked. to expressed my concerns and the guy who answered the phone was very dismissive, like a guy accusing his wife of being a nag.  He scoffed at my concerns and told me that the men who trimmed my trees were "arborists" with 30 years of experience.  I don't buy it.  Sorry.  Just because I am a girl doesn't mean that I don't know a bad job when I see it or that I don't know something about the proper way to trim a tree.  I am not an "arborist" but I have a basic knowledge of how to trim a tree (I have trimmed quite a few and their are people in my family with expertise in the field).  He was kind of a jerk.
The "arborist" who called me back agreed.  He was very nice and he was apologetic about the agent's manner towards me.  He told me that for the type of tree that we have in front that it is ok to just lop off the branches mid way.  The thing is, they did the same thing to the tree in the back.  In any case, I do not agree with his assessment, which was just an excuse.  I know better.
To his credit he did tell me that he would come and fix it to my satisfaction.  I was going to take him up on it, but you know, we have other issues with our building and we have lives.  It was just too much of a bother, so I told them to pay Provider name locked. but to put them on our list of contractors NOT to use again.   I look at the trees in front of another building on our street that I saw being pruned earlier a month before and wished I had stopped that guy and asked him to do the job instead.

  • I contacted Provider name locked. for an estimate to trim a very large, healthy red oak tree. They visited the site 2 weeks after my initial call and quoted me $2,500 for routine trimming, which was 250% more than the service I hired. They also told me it would be 6-8 weeks before they could provide the service. I hired someone else.

  • I had consulted Provider name locked. in the past about installing a retaining wall to divide my property from my neighbors but due to my finances at the time, I was not able to pursue that option.  Not knowing that Provider name locked. installed fences, I decided to get estimates from Home Depot and other local fencing companies and sadly ended up going with a general contractor who installed a fence that ended up leaning from its posts within a month and in Provider name locked. of coming completely down.

In panic, I decided to call Provider name locked. , the superman and proprietor of Provider name locked. , who came out to survey the job and gave me a reasonable estimate on reinstalling a stockade privacy fence, despite his busy fall landscaping season.   Within a week, Provider name locked. and a crew of 3 came out and had the poorly installed fence taken down within an hour and were able to re-install it the proper way, both securely and safely.  Provider name locked. event took great care in leveling out some of the land near the fence so that I can add trees and additional landscaping in the spring.  Provider name locked. 's crew were neat, very professional and knowledgeable of the job - and the day went smoothly.  Provider name locked. even went above and beyond and helped me return some of the unused fence panels to Home Depot that had been sitting in my shed !

Hooray for superman Provider name locked.   and Provider name locked. !!  The "plus" definitely represents the professionalism and the range of his services (Provider name locked. , landscaping, masonry, fencing, gutters, snow removal, etc).    I will definitely use Provider name locked. and his crew again soon for landscaping and gutter cleaning , plus more !!
