Considering the underlying issues that were found during demolition, everything went remarkably well!
First, as noted elsewhere, Provider name locked. does charge $75 for a rough estimate. However, it was well worth it. Not only did he show up exactly on-time for the estimate, he spent a good hour or so going through many of the details with me. He told me upfront that there were likely more significant issues going on behind the wall -- and, boy, was he correct. At the time, he recommended that we replace the entire shower, estimated at around $10,000 plus tile.
Several months later, I decided to formally enlist S&W Tile's services. Provider name locked. again visited us conveniently on a Saturday to walk through the job in even more detail. We spent almost two hours planning out the job and refining logistics. He suggested I plan ahead and buy new seals for all the plumbing fixtures and shower doors, which turned out to be a very good idea given their lead time. He then gave me a firm date of when he would start (approximately four weeks later) and estimated that the job would take four-to-five days. At this point we made a down payment of $3,000.
Sure enough, a week and a half before the job was to begin, Provider name locked. contacted me to let me know that he had a cancellation and could start the job a week early, if it was convenient to us. We agreed, and Provider name locked. arrived on time the following Monday morning to begin. With his prior guidance, we had the area thoroughly prepped for his work.
On Monday afternoon, Provider name locked. called to give me a status update and sent me videos of some of the demolition progressed. As alluded to earlier, he found significant problems. Within five years of the initial installation, the structure of the shower seat had completely rotted away. Furthermore, the copper drain Provider name locked. that we had installed (which we thought was a good idea) had been installed incorrectly, preventing water from draining. When Provider name locked. got to the Provider name locked. , he found about four inches of stagnant standing water in the Provider name locked. . The level of rot found and some added difficulty in saving the existing granite bench resulted in a relatively small change order of $1500.
As the week pressed on, things went a little smoother. On Day Two, we had to purchase some additional tile, but Provider name locked. was kind enough to pick it up for us. We also had to coordinate debris removal separately, which S&W Tile did not provide but assisted with. Throughout the week of their work, I came home to a very clean and organized job site. Tools were neatly put away, drop clothes were removed, and all the areas were swept clean. Very high Provider name locked. for cleanliness!
All in all, we are quite happy with the process, the workmanship, and the results.

This summer my husband and I decided to embark on a kitchen and 2.5 bathroom remodel. A daunting task made even more overwhelming by the fact that I had zero idea what I was doing and have a serious case of OCD.
Provider name locked. was a godsend. The price was right and they were so patient and thorough about everything. I'm big on closed loop communication and these guys were the consummate professionals. From Provider name locked. , the office manager, to Provider name locked. the project manager and Provider name locked. our main carpenter - we were constantly talking to one another. I even had access to Provider name locked. , the company president when it was necessary. I might add that on a day when they were short handed and needed someone to come collect construction debris, Provider name locked. showed up with his shirt sleeves rolled up and helped his crew schlep stuff to the dump truck.
They did great work and referred me to wonderful tile and stone vendors. The rare times that we hit a snag (what renovation doesn't), they worked so fast to rectify the issues. I also gave them a very strict deadline, and when it looked like we were cutting it close, they sent in crews to work on Saturday and Sunday. The ended up finishing 2 days in advance.
Finally, they dropped off a thank you gift for us a few weeks after we closed for "being so great to work with". I felt ashamed to accept it as it really should have been the other way around. We are thrilled with the final result and can't recommend them highly enough.

These guys were fantastic. I have to say that overall, they made us feel like they were working on their own house. They took so much care in all aspects of the project and were extremely precise with their workmanship. They were very prompt when I initially contacted them for the estimate. They came in and gave me a very honest assessment of the work, including providing general tips and suggestions that were even out of the scope of the project. The quotation was very detailed and impressive, and the pricing was honest and spot on. Provider name locked. mentioned initially that he prides the work on the old school way of doing things, and that is very, very true. They were extremely flexible when we changed a few things during the project, and Provider name locked. worked tirelessly to insure that it was completed on time. We did quite a bit of marble floor tiling and ceramic tile work - when people see the finished product they always comment on how meticulous the workmanship was. You could not see a hint of a seam in any of the drywall work either - they are very good. Each day when they left, you could not even tell that they had been there, the outside areas were so clean. I could not recommend these guys more. They are very much part of a tradition where honesty and workmanship are valued above money.- Thomas B.
